Hello to all newbies
Fitzio - I get cold & shivery when I'm tired. Could it be that? I think it's more normal to be hotter during pg given the increased amount of blood. But then, what's 'normal' when it comes to being pg?!
Just been reading about VBACs and in my area the stats show only 36% of women have a vaginal birth after having had a c-section  Will be speaking to the consultant about THAT one.
I'd love to go to the birth centre, but it's separate to the hospital - I had a 9 min trip by ambulance on blue lights from birth centre to hospital last time. I think that's why that's also a 'no no' for me. I'll just have to get used to the thought of giving birth on a ward, perhaps in the pool this time. Did NOT like getting out of it last time.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

Helen & Fitzio - welcome and congrats!
Not much going on here - took me a bit to catch up on reading! We've got a week and a half until our 12wk scan, so we're a bit focused on that. Still checking the baby's heartbeat with the doppler every few days. And trying to keep from letting my 22yo DD drive me nuts! Grrrr
Hope everyone is doing well.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
Hi all,
Been lurking here for a couple of weeks since finding out I am pregnant, so thought I would join the other newbies and say hello. This is my first pregnancy, so I am needing lots of advice, although I must confess, I don’t think I am going to have the time to keep up with all of your chat – I will do my best though! I haven’t been to the doctors yet (appointment was for Friday, but doctor was off sick!) but going this Tuesday.
I have a couple of minor worries – I had pains before Christmas and the doctor thought it might be a kidney infection. I have since provided 4 samples to them (although they have given me no indication of why they need them) but the last time the receptionist muttered something about “short of red blood cells”, so I have self diagnosed myself as anaemic! We’ll see what they say on Tuesday. Other than that, I am constantly shivering and really cold. Has anyone else experienced this? No idea if it’s related to pregnancy or not.
I have calculated my due date to be around 17 September, but hope to get it confirmed at some point.
Thanks in advance for all the help and support that you all give to everyone.
x
Hello
the samples would have been to look for signs of infection, I presume but no idea why they needed 4! and unless the took blood they would have no idea about your blood count so that is most confusing
The easiest way to see if you may be anemic is to look at the inside of your eye lid - if its pale then you are probably needing some more iron in your diet.
good info on iron rich food here: http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/healthydiet/nutritionessentials/vitaminsandminerals/iron/0 -
Hello All,
Apologies I haven't been on in AGES, just spent the last hour catching up on last weeks worth of posts. I'm now almost 32 weeks pregnant and can't believe how fast the time is going by! I've got 4 weeks of work left until I go on mat leave. I think I'll need to keep myself busy for the weeks before baby is due. Anyone have any ideas of hobbies etc. I can take up for a few weeks while waiting for baby?
I think I'm mostly prepped for baby, but feeling very uncertain since this is our first! I keep adding items to my mat bag - I might need more than one by the time I'm done with it!Debt at highest 01/01/2008- $79,385.32

Hi all..
Welcome newbiesI can't believe we've got EDDs of September already!!
I've had a productive afternoon. OH quite willingly came with me to Wickes, B&Q and Homebase and looked interested. I think I'll be choosing the units and he can choose the appliances since I don't cook! Even better, we like the ones in Wickes and their sale it on til the end of Feb and they will hold it until Apr for us so should all fit in nicely.
Earlier I was browsing prams online and saying to OH that I wanted to go pram shopping, not kitchen shopping.. He even got enthusiastic about that and said we could go to the big out-of-town Mothercare and Toys 'r' Us after my next scan to have a play0 -

Hi ladies, hope everyone is OK ~ big Hello to the new Mum's to be too!
Finally ordered the pram, car seat, cot and mattress today, so that's me finished at long last, I now have everything!!! :j :j :j
Oh, apart from one little thing.
Socks!(I just keep forgetting them!)
I feel like absolute shoite. I could sleep for England. Iron tablets haven't done a thing. I'm still in pain but have an appointment for physio tomorrow, so I'll see what happens there.
Been signed off work too so I'm bored to tears!
Baby has got regular 'lets kick Mummy to death' times now ~ especially at night at around 8pm and then 11pm!
I've got a fancy dress 21st party to go to on Valentines Night, so can anyone think of a pregnant or fat bird and who is a film/tv character? :rotfl:

Looks like we've all had busy weekends... We've been out for my Mum's birthday meal today, was really nice catching up with my brother and sister... Have arranged to catch the train to visit my brother and stay over one of the weekends he's not working which should be fun... 5 months pregnant and sleeping on a blow up bed! (Although if we visit the In Laws it will be the same and we have plans to go up there at the end of Feb so it'll be 6 1/2 months pregnant on a blow up bed!)A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
