Sorry if this has already been posted. I'm just paying my tac bill :-( and came across this link about the Health in pregnancy grant.

    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/hipg/how-to-claim.htm

We can't claim until April and you have to wait until you're 25 weeks, but seems straightforward after that.

I'm having my downs blood test in about ten days. Do they do iron level tests then too, or is it just the one sample? Anyone remember? :) Thanks.

    Yey - a local person!

We were talking last night about moving house - but said we'd stay local 'cos its so handy for everything! Two minutes from train station - then 20 min from Chester or Liverpool.

Now i'm on mat leave, i'm going to try and not use my car if I can help it - just to see how we'd cope with one car. Its a pain in the butt normally, trying to get to school and then work in the quickest possible time - but i have no excuse now i'm a lady of leisure for the next 10 months :D .

And i did my first asda on-line shop this week - delivered yesterday and all ok - so no need to drive to Asda now either.

We have been getting our shopping delivered for a few years now, also I am so close to the school and work we were just using the car for the sake of it really. With dh being at Uni in Liverpool, there is no way he would bother driving there anyway, so it made sense to get rid of the car...we will probably need one again once he graduates to give him freedom to apply for jobs etc...That is 4yrs away, so in the meantime, it's walk or cycle for us:money:

Welcome lindsay...unfortunaely there is little you can do for the tiredness, except wait it out. It does ease off eventually. In the meantime, just sleep whenever you can:)

Sorry I don't think Asda have the maternity range in the shops its just online as far as I know so maybe ring them and check before making a special trip.

If you have an Asda Living store near you then they stock the maternity range. There's one at Crown Point in Leeds but I think this was the first in the country as it's across the road from Asda HQ.

    Hello girles,
I can't join you yet(I just lurk) but hopefully soon!! Can I just ask...did any of you get really sore swollen boobies almost immediatley after conception? The reason I ask is that Im driving myself mad pregnancy symptom spotting..theres no denying that my boobs have suddenly increased in size (and weight!) and the veins are alot more prominent, BUT if I even have conceived it was only 4days ago! Im thinking-way too soon for boobs to swell but period wouldn't be due for 10days and this much swelling never happens this far away,it always happens 3days away.
    Anybody experienced this atall?
    Helen x

I knew both times - my boobs went crazy and i also had lower back ache. My boobs also got bigger almost instantly, and I never get any of this for my period (which usually just appears unexpectedly with no symptoms).

AF - hope you're feeling better after your news.

Ladybird - congratulations! :j Isabelle is a fab name. It's one of those on my (very long) list.

Catz - you're due three days after me! Yay! Another date twin. :D Welcome.

Weird about everyone feeling sick this morning - I did too! Couldn;t get up at first then had to get OH to make me toast to help but once I'd had a couple of bites I then wolfed down four slices! :rotfl:

They just take one sample Elle. I had my results back yesterday and we have a risk of 1 in 2400 which apparently is low, so all is well :D

i am a bit miserable today - it's my birthday on Friday so I was arranging a meal at Strada with my mates on Saturday, but none of them can come :( Only two have said yes and I know they can;t really afford it, so a bit upset and not sure what to do now.

Should I cancel and go see my family instead? OH's birthday is Tuesday and he'd love to go up as he can then see his mates (our families live in the same town).

Also think my depression is coming back - feel very low and my new job is not only stressful but also knackering me out! I'm exhausted permanently. Thought it got better in the second trimester??

ETA: Re dopplers, the angelsounds one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anglesounds-JPD-100S-Fetal-Doppler/dp/B000XS987A/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top is £30, but you can rent this one http://www.fetal-doppler-rental.co.uk/acatalog/bt200_sound_fetal_doppler.html for a tenner a month, so as I am 14 weeks on Monday, is it better value to buy one or rent? How long do you use one for? I imagine I won;t use it once I can feel the baby move regularly, but that could be after 20 weeks?

I don;t know what to do but I wanna be able to check on my baby. :)

 am looking on ebay for some maternity clothes (jeans, tops) someone recommended Next - which they sell on ebay anyway, are there any other online places to look or can anyone recommend some real shops?
New look and Dorothy perkins, only thing is you are probably better off ordering online, i found their maternity rails in the shop were so small, there was hardly anything to choose from.
Saying that though I got 4 tops and a nice cardi from DP all for £22 in the sale, yet they had nothing i liked at full price.
Oh and peacokcs had some nice stuff but only one trouser length.

You've had it done already?! I thought it was something that had to be done at 15-16 weeks..

Everyone must have my sickness.. For the first Saturday in months I've felt fine! :D

Have been up since 9am, done several loads of washing, tidied the kitchen, and have just finished making a batch of twinks hobnobs which I've been promising myself for weeks!

Not dressed yet, mind you.. Got to get ready soon - going to friends' for tea :)

Does anyone else who's pregnant with their first keep getting "offers" from everyone they know with children?? In the last two days we've had "oh, you can look after Josh(3yrs) for the weekend!" and "oh good, you can look after Lewis(11mths) while we're all on holiday!" I don't want to look after their children - I want to look after my own.. that's why I'm having one!!
