Happy birthday toto - is that a new avvy? Lily-Anne really is beautiful.
.
Aww thanks, I think she's just the most precious little thing (even between the hours of midnight and 7 am when she is in wide eyed mode). I'm hanging around here until you all show me pictures of your little bundles too. I can't believe mine is 4 weeks old already, time flies.:A

My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »AF - tearing and stitches is terrifying me too. One of the things that I want to discuss with the MW is whether it is easier to stitch after an episiotomy (or whatever they are called) - basically is it better to be cut (although that relies on them catching you in time and before it is definite that you will tear).
I have also been reading about bubba staying on your chest whilst you are stitched - I reckon having your baby there may make it much easier.
Hello everyone! Still lurking although it took awhile to find the new thread! Just a quick post to say I had an episiotomy (sp?) with Rosie and then a 2nd degree tear with Matthew. In my opinion, the stitches from the tear were less painful and less troublesome afterwards (done by the MW) than the one done by the drs following a ventouse delivery with Rosie. TBH the birth second time around seemed really quick so I'm not surprised I tore despite doing the panting thing whilst his head was coming to slow things down!
It will be the last thing on your mind when you get to the "pushing" stage and whatever you have to deal with afterwards will be forgotten once bubs is in your arms! :rotfl:
Happy birthday toto and labour vibes to SB, congrats skylight xProud mum to Matthew born 23/11/08 7lb 13ozand Rosie 12/01/05 7lb 9oz0 -
Thanks Sami. Family is ok... Nan passed away peacefully in her sleep this morning so I'm glad I dashed back to see her... At least she's at peace now and she got to see all her family in the last week.
So a bit sad and on the other hand... happy she's no longer in pain and has finally found peace...
Thats a lovely way to think of it, I'm sure she'll be keeping an eye on you n bump from wherever she is.
Do pagans have heaven and angels? (ooh hope thats not an offensive qu)
I like to think my "Grandy" is watching us along with hubby's Granny. one of our most treasured possessions is the one and only picture we have of Chris with Granny, its really strange, she had one of the many types of dementia and kept forgetting allsorts but she never once forgot who chris was and always asked about him. ok I'm shutting up coz I'm getting tears on my webbook!0 -
Well pagans are as diverse as you can imagine
Nan wasn't pagan - I know she was a little religious but not sure if that was more to make grandad feel happy... do we have angels? Well... some believe in "angels", others don't - it really depends on what "path" you follow
I'm more of a hedgewitch than anything else, but not a strict one... most you'll probably find are a bit ecclecticEspecially the ones not following a coven. Hedgewitches tend to be solitary practitioners and often very tolerant of others views of the craft. I personally think that people can come back to a degree if they feel a strong enough purpose for doing so... Other than that then life is full of trials and tests. Every challenge is a test and the harder the test is the bigger the reward - even if at first it is not obvious to us that it is a test nor that something might be the reward for it... it can be subtle things... like realising learning something new is a bigger reward than a material item.
!!!!!!... another lecture
Anyway there is no easy answer Samibecause there is no ONE answer

Tine, Thanks for attempting to answer
Just thought you might like to know that my Chris has just been sat on my lap and when he saw your avvy he decided your doggy deserved a kiss so please pass it on0 -
Thanks AF and MFD - my nan and grandad brought me up for nearly 3 years when I was younger so I do feel very sad, but less so than I feared... I know I couldn't make her better or take away the pain. At least she saw us all and recognised us and she seemed very happy about that... I know I'll miss her but I'm also glad she's free of pain and worry now... My grandad bless him will have to be told eventually but I have no doubt that he'll forget by tomorrow and will be need to be told again and again... I suspect that he will eventually revert to having to be told she'll be visiting later. That's how he's been when nan has been in hospital for anything so I doubt he'll really realise... the disguised blessing of dementia
Sami - I'll pass it on when Kira wakes from her napcan you pass on the hairs I'll have to pick out of my mouth?
