DD couldn't sleep last night due to seeing bright lights, itching n being sick.the hosp have said it's nothing to worry about as the itching isn't on the palms of her hands, but i'll take her up there today of it doesn't improve.Reasurringly the midwife at hosp said 27cm fundus at 29 weeks is fine so i'm really mad with the midwife at the docs for worrying us all:mad:
FG hope you and baby are ok hun x

I got three free ones at first scan, and 8 for £2.50 at second scan - again, postcode lottery me thinks :o .

I'm up really late after a stinking row with OH!! First one in ages since my hormones have settled down!!

It all boils down to babys surname. We were discussing first names, and I said, in a half joking way, if I can have one of my two favorite first names, i'll consider his surname for her.

DS and DD are to my ex (absolute to$$er! - i was young and stupid!), and have his name - which I totally regret now  . I have my name (never married), and everyone assumes baby with have OH name. But why should she?

Is anyone else in the same/similar situation re names?

He thinks i'm totally negative as one of my arguements is that he could !!!!!! off in months/years time, leaving me with my name, DS and DD with their name, and DD2 with yet another name.

I know he's not my ex, as he keeps reminding me etc, etc - but you never know what the future holds.

Any outside opinions would be welcome if anyone it still up!
3, I completely understand IMHO bubs should have your surname if your not married as it is much easier to later give bubs his name if you get married but not very easy if it has his name and you want to change it later.
Do you think you will/want to get married?
I gave Chris OH's surname as I "knew" we would get married, but if I was the teeniest bit unsure he would have been given my surname and then changed it when/if got married HTH x

PS. you could always use OH's surname as a middle name

Make up and school run??? Are you wonderwoman???

    :D

No chance! :D . Just caught sight of myself in the mirror, & needed some concealer to cover the huge under eye bags, & bronzer to add colour to the bits that weren't bags!

As for the school run, well there is no rest for the wicked, & if you have more than one child, you know you've been wicked more than once ;)

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I'd love to post a piccie, but can't due to some insane family members. For the same reason I'm not on facebook etc. But she is gorgeous!!

Thanks also to whoever added me to the birth list, but you've given her 10 extra oz!
  • Good luck FG - always best to get these things checked out so you can stop worrying :)

Still nothing much happening here, but I have had the rest of my show (well... I assume it is the rest - there was quite a lot of it!) so I hope that means things will get moving soon. I managed lots of sleep last night, so I've got plenty of energy today and I want to get on with it!!!

If the dad is around, I too usually assume baby has his name. I guess it seems normal to me. I realise it will be awkward having 3 different surnames in the family if you have no intention of marrying OH. However, I feel it's nice for kids to have their dad's name to show they were acknowledged by and have a link to their father. If your surname is important to you, then I'd include it as a middle name. (Btw, you're due exactly one month before me!)
  • good luck FG, hopefully bubs is just having a lazy morning x
