Ooh! What do you have to do to get hunky firemen to deliver the gas & air?! OH has pretty much veto-ed a home birth, but I might be tempted to try again to persuade him if that's part of the service!

    Hello peeps.

Congrats Sooz. You made it sound so easy!!!

I am wincing at the prices of some of those moses baskets. I just couldnt justify it but I will grab someones arm of if they buy me one as a pressie. Loving the baby bouncers too - will stick one of them on my wishlist.

There is so much to think of. Baby will be spoilt and have everything he/she needs for a newborn but i'm afraid the money will then run out and baby will have to play with wooden spoons, pans and toilet rolls for ever more!!

I fell asleep last night at 1:00am listening to Beanies heartbeat and kicks on my Angelsounds doppler. It was the best thing in the world and the best sleep I have had in a long while as it gave me the reassurance I needed. Its definately my new favourite toy!!

Charlie is a year this month and would rather have above to play with than fancy toys:D

well i have had a fun afternoon(NOT) tided up, got all the rubbish out for going to the dump, filled car up and then had a little boy and his mum arrive at the door to tell me that Lewis had invited him round to play and for dinner:eek: no warning nothing at all. Lewis got the look and i felt awful as obviously they had planned this between them so i had another child most of the day. also when his mum came to pick him up she stayed for another hour so i have only just had dinner and am so tired. we have abis friend tom so i cant even relax still have loads to get done. see what you have to look forward too pmsl:p

    Hi 3

I had a c/s in 2006 and am expecting #2 in July. My MW said at the time that more than 75% who have a c/s go on to have a natural birth (VBAC) next time around, so I think he's got this the wrong way around!

As I understand the main risk of rupture is if you're induced - something to do with the hormones? I'm waiting to see the consultant too. Meant to be at 16 weeks but I'm nearly 14 already and no appointment yet
I was told that by midwife too, i'm not having a CS if I can avoid it.
do you not have to book your own appointments?

    Sooz - CONGRATULATIONS!

elastigirl - your GP sounds rubbish! Last time I had bleeding at 7/8 weeks and thankfully had already booked in with MW (they do it quite early here) so was able to get referred to emergency clinic. THing is there is nothing they can do so try to relax. If the bleeding has stopped then that's good.

And as for me, the scan was today. All morning I felt sick to my stomach and so weepy. When we got there we couldn;t find a parking space, so OH dropped me off and I went in. I realised they were seeign people quickly and I was so worried I'd be called in before OH parked the car and came in. Luckily he arrived just minutes before they called us.

We went in and I lay down and I could hardly look at the screen I was so scared there'd be nothing there, or something wrong. She put the scanner on me and I saw a quick glimpse of a baby inside and said 'it's still there!'. The sonographer thought it was funny but I was so relieved.

And Bubba is fine - everything is totally OK. It is 60mm long which I think is right for my dates - they have me as 11+6 and said I was a bit big for dates, but I think I am 12+3 and probably therefore about right.

At first the baby turned over and showed us its back, lol, but then it did helpfully turn round and we saw it waving its arms and legs around. It also looked like it might have hiccups but the sonographer didn;t say whether it did or not.

So now we are going to tell people and I feel I can relax :D

Here's the piccy (the blob in the 'air' is a foot):

  • That's really clear Skinty :) Dates are only a guess anyway - baby will come when it is ready!

Sounds like your hospital is as bad as ours for parking - I've still been late for appointments after leaving myself 45 mins for parking before!!!

ladybird - it is awful for parking! The car park is always full and the streets around are chokka too. It's a nightmare! SO glad I'm not actually having the birth there.

The scan pic is great isn;t it? THe sonographer was so lovely and tried really hard to get us a good picture, I think cos I told her about the mc and she realised why I'd said what I did.

DS has got to be 'seen' by some sort of doctor tommorrow, the teacher pulled me up after school, basically his attention span is dreadful and his behaviour can be pretty challenging at times, so they want to see if they can fnd a reason why, so i'll be going down there aswell.
I took him to SALT today and he's being signed off from that which is good, the therapist said that he is actually a very bright boy, brilliant with numbers and after talking to his teacher today, who said he has taken to learning excellent, he can count to 30+ and is brilliant with his phonics etc, and his memory is amazing.
SALT said that he may have some sort of mild attention problem, nothing major though, I know he's not got ADHD or anything like that, but I do wonder why he just never sits still and it's so hard to 'control' him, he has little self control either.
He's not a horrible child, just bloody hardwork!
