I'm not surprised. I'm definitely ready to get it over and done with now. It's just a shame that I'm not up to running up and down the stairs really - our block of flats is 7 floors, and I'm sure a few goes of running up and down the whole lot would do the trick! Damn SPD!

shopaholic - I was induced with DS2, and I had heard so many horror stories about induction that I was freaked out. But it really wasn't bad at all. They used a pessary inserted (which I imagine is similar to the gel just in tablet form) about 4pm, labour started slowly about 7-8pm (I think), and about midnight water broke and 10 minutes later DS made his appearance. I didn't use any pain meds, just the tens for part of the labour - in fact, the stitching up afterwards was more uncomfortable - needed gas & air for that on recommendation from the midwife. The only reason for that was because there was a delay before they could stitch me up as DS wasn't willing to wait until a delivery room opened up and I delivered up on the labour ward, much to their surprise!
Honestly, I would have no problem having the next delivery go that well.
Oh, and I am in a right state this morning!!! We heard the heartbeat on the home doppler this morning for the first time!! 179 !! We are absolutely over the moon about it!! :j So now I feel more comfortable adding my name to the list.

Morning all
What bouncy chair do you have or are you getting?
Good luck to all with scans etc.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
this confuses me about the labour wards and labour rooms that you go on about? here when you in labour your on the labour ward in a labour room from start to finish, once baby is here, checked, settled etc usually around 2/3 hours after birth you are either put in a ward with 4 beds per room or a single private pre paid room. this is on the second floor. it amazes me how everywhere is sooooo different??What's for you won't go past you0

Morning ladies.
Good luck to those having scans today and labour vibes to those who need them.
Was going to start a separate thread but thought I would ask in here first - has anyone been to the Kiddicare Store in Peterborough and would you recommend it?
I have been frantically internet window shopping for the last few days (realisation has hit!) and Kiddicare is coming up with the best prices for loads of stuff. It is about a 2 hour drive for us but I was wondering if we made a day of it would it be worth the trip?
Are the prices as good in store as they are on the internet? Would I just end up getting most things delivered anyway?
Any thoughts appreciated!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

cazscoob - sorry, that should have read "delivery room" - the hospital in Devon had a labour ward upstairs (rooms with 4 beds) for women in labour - once you reached a certain point in the labour, you were moved to a delivery room. But the rooms filled up while I was in labour and then there was just no time to get me downstairs to a delivery room as he was coming out immediately after the water broke. Not the most ideal set-up, but that's how it went there. I don't have a clue how it's set up here, as I haven't seen that part of the hospital yet.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

MFD do you use quidco? Kiddicare is on quidco at 4%, not much but it soon adds up if you are buying a load of babygear.
I've used them before and they've been good, especially because there is a thing on there which tells you which day it will be delivered (going by which day you order it.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
I've only ordered online from Kiddicare, but was very happy with the items I bought from them.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
