My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey
  • Hello!

Hope all is well, I am just off to try and catch up with the huuuuge amount of posts!

My mum and dad popped up to Halifax from Hampshire over the weekend to bring presents and see bump (18+4 now). Found out that my mum never had ms or any thing pg related. Hurumph. Although I also found out I was a traumatic 1st baby experience - 10 days late and she was induced after being knocked down in the hospital car park followung a check up! I then caused a 24 hour labour and ended up being a forced birth (forceps used) and me and mum had to stay in hospital for 2 weeks. Eeek! Of course I thank ed mum fro scaring the bejebus out of be but then pointed out it may have been pg karma as she had no ms. :D

Also my mum bought baby a beatiful teddy bear as first xmas present! But I am not allowed to open mine till xmas day (2 sleeps to go!) Woohoo!
    DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz
    DD1 arrived 20/05/09 10lb3oz

  • My mum keeps saying to me "I never had any of these problems when I was pregnant". Which really makes me feel better ;) Apparently she was off going for long bike rides at 8 and a half months.

I was the easy birth, but my brother wasn't. Her waters broke, but nothing was happening, so she had to be induced and was in labour for ages. She had a drip of sugar to keep her going, and has been allertic to sugar ever since! But strangely she had pethadine with me, and no painkillers at all with my brother, which sounds the wrong way round to me!

DH's mum is really ungrateful too, said we would be comng over to drop pressie off and she said well im going out ring me later, then rings to say get here for 6, didnt stop at ALL at my dads to get to her for 6 then hit more traffic!!! rang her to say and she said oh il wait then, 6:25 we get there, DH runs up the 6 flights of stairs to her flat and she said why havent i gone up!!!!! Bl00dy woman, obviously wasnt goin out, didnt think i might be stiff and achey AND her flat is always really thick with yellow cigareete smoke and we stink after being in there 30 seconds!! Im so annoyed that i could have had a drink and rest at dads but rushed for no reason!!!!

    Hi Everyone,

I hope your all relaxed and prepared for Xmas. We don't want any stressed bubs do we?

I've had my appointment today for my 1st scan. It's 2nd Feb. Not too bad you might think but the midwife couldn't be sure of my dates and suspected that I may be 14 weeks along already. I'm going to have a look at getting a private scan done. Just depends whether the budget will stretch.

Well we're having a non MSE meal tonight... we're going to the pub! we won't be on our own again for severeal days now and tonight we're just gonna trundle down and have a little us time before the madness begins tomorrow.
Just went to the garden centre for quince jelly and onion marmelade - and bottom burped my way round... you've never seen me shop so fast in your entire life! I swear if anyone had lit a candle behind me I'd have been rocket propelled!
