    Millie, I'll PM you :)

When would you expect to start getting any leaking? Is it different with first pregnacies? I'm 23 weeks, and still absolutely nothing.

Millie I'm at 19 + 1 and not leaking yet either... boobs are slightly bigger than normal but not by much. I don't think there is much need to worry yet... But I am sure Krystal can help you with good advice to put your mind to rest. And remember some people for various reasons have problems breastfeeding - if that is the case then don't worry about it, it's certainly not your fault :)

You might not neccesarily leak with your first pregnancy, because this is my 2nd and I fed for so long the first time mine has just got geared up early... I also know how to hand express so kept checking periodically to see if anything was happening.... Don't know if I mentioned before but despite the fact I succesfully fed and am trained... I was still paranoid that it wouldn't work this time...

ETA.. I never give advice... I give support... My tutor would kill me if I gave advice! lol

  • Mrs Tine and Feelinggood, don't worry about what I have said, everyone is different and lots of people don't leak at all beforehand. (I'm 29 weeks so a bit in front of both of you)

Its just that for me people talking about that has reminded me of the awful time i had last time because my milk never came in, although to be fair the whole birth/hospital/first couple of weeks was not good for me and I want to do what i can to avoid a repeat of that

  • My boobs have never leaked at all during this preg or my last :).

AF, Moses baskets are fairly cheap (even new ones) and I would be lost without mine. Baby came with me in each room and we had a rocking stand upstairs and a static one for downstars (both from Freecycle). After a few months we got a swinging crib for our room (you don't have to have it in swinging mode!) and she was comfy in that for quite a while. She didn't go into her cotbed until she was 8m and moved into the nursery.

ladies - re: my earlier 'leaking'

I'm 35+2 so not far off full term and by leaking it was definately colostrum, not milk and was a very small wet patch on a white t-shirt (which was why I noticed it).

I think it was because I had been in a very warm shower for ages (couldn't bear to get out as it was soooooo nice :D ).

    re: moses baskets etc.

Our bedroom is an awkward shape so we can't get the cot beside the bed, therefore we have gone for a moses basket. I definately want baby in our room to begin with. we'll revisit the problem when baby gets too big for the basket :D My mum's advice was that each baby is different - myself and my sisters all slept in a moses basket to begin with, but all for different peroids of time depending on our size mainly. My little sister was out of it quickest at 3 months, but my other sister stayed in it for 7 months. I was somewhere in between

looking at the breast feeding bras again in the mothercare sale and still not sure about sizes......

tara yes it was earlier on that i felt movement but think that you just become more aware of how your body changes! couldnt sleep as she had the hic-ups again last night and i was so tired and just wanted to sleep but it lasted for around 2 hours!

moses basket i found to be better as LO tipped himself out of the swinging crib and gave me a fright! mines is a bigger moses basket and it done him for long time think he was around 8 months and his head was touching one end and feet the other lol!
What's for you won't go past you

r mac, I would wait until the last minute to get a feeding bra, they could stay the same, or become giant norks over night! (don't want to scare you ;))

Oooh, it used to really irritate me when Aimee got the hiccups... Would go on for hours... Then just when you think they've stopped... 10 mins later they're off again!

SB, thought you'd been quiet today, got a little excited for you... I think you need to start posting hourly so we know whats happening :p

    Hi all..

What is it with our offices at the minute - is it lack of Christmas spirit and niceness to all pregnant women day?! I spent most of the day putting on a fake smile then muttering until my breath when the person walked away. Stupid people asking me stupid questions! Grrr.. Obviously my scowling was noticed cos then stupid people continued to ask me "are you alright?" - to which my answer was "yes, I'm fine, other than incredibly queasy, with a banging headache like someone is kicking me in the back of the head, back ache, high stress levels, high filing pile and being surrounded by stupid people!".. They backed off after that, made me tea, put the tin of biscuits on my desk and creeped off! (cue more fake smiles!)

Mookie&co - I hope your day (in court, wasn't it?) hasn't been too stressful and you manage to chill out tonight :)

I'm off out for tea later then going to nip to Asda to scout for bargains. I fear I may be in the town centre at 4pm on Christmas Eve at this rate! :(
