I honestly think that last time something deep within me knew the baby wasn;t right.

This time I do feel so much at peace about it all. I know something *could* still go wrong but I don;t feel it will.

Well I've now got a sore throat because of a nasty bit of m/s due to me being up too early :( thanks hubby  off to the doc's in a bit to find out if I should use my current steroid cream or get a new one for my eczema - which is now rather painful and keeps bleeding, at least its between my fingers so can't really see it, last time it got bad it was on my wrist and summer so I looked like a scabby minger

  • Morning all :D

Thanks to all those asking about my mum, in all honesty doctors have said she's made an amazing recovery. From being in intensive care 2 weeks ago, to having major emergency surgery she's come back really well. Still not completely out of the woods yet - but great news - She's coming home today and is going to have nurses visiting the house twice a day :T

I did post late last week asking about when people think I'm ok to tell people I'm pregnant, as I said I had an early scan which places me at 10-11 weeks (they say 10, I say 11!), I've got my first proper scan on the 6th Jan, shall I wait until after then or do you think we'll be OK to tell friends and family over Christmas?
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same
  • Morning - glad to hear your mum is on the mend Tinks :)

My turn to have the grumpy DH today - he decided to stay in bed this morning, and go into work when he's had some more sleep though, so hopefully that will do the trick :) (I expect his excuse will be something to do with his pregnant wife being ill in the night or something, but never mind!!)

Argos are bringing us the nursery furniture this morning, then we just have to put it together, and I can actually put things away! You would not believe how many bags of baby clothes we have lying round our bedroom at the moment (and I've literally only bought 1 pack of babygrows, 1 pack of vests and a coat-thing with ears!). We've been given so many hand me downs, I don't think we're going to get round to using all the newborn stuff, but never mind!

Eeep - I can see the argos van trying to fit down the road now, in between the parked cars - will be back later!

    morning  I'm back!

I had a lovely time at my parents but it's wonderful to be home. I was fed up here and so decided to take off and rescue mum from my grandmother (who is 93 and driving everyone completely mad - it's worse than a toddler!). It was great to be looked after and fussed over for a bit.

SB - glad to se eyou held off for me coming back ;) sending you labour vibes sweetie xxx

Ladybird, how are you getting on? Hope that the furniture is easy to put together.

Have a few things to get done today, but thought I'd sit with a cuppa and check out mse for a while - I've been missng it :D saying that it has taken me about an hour to read what you've bene up to while I've been away! tsk tsk tsk.....

Oh and pg related - now 35wks 2 days pg and suddenly feel like a ship in full sail :D taking bets as to when baby will actually arrive - but not dropped or anything, so I reckon it'll be late :D

Ladybird - have fun putting all the furniture together....I bet it will look lovely once it's all done and in place.

Tinkerbell - I told people very early on, because I wanted to avoid doing anything in work where I might over strain etc. Mainly because I had previously had two mc's and wanted to do everything possible to keep safe. I think I was about 6wks when I told work, then thought I best tell my boys incase someone in work let slip, then parents incase the boys let slip....well you get the picture!!! everyone knew by 8wks.

With both my boys I also told family by 8-10 weeks too...But of course, nobody is going to be able to tell you if it is OK for you to share your news...it really is a personal decision.

Got friends coming over shortly with their kiddies, so i'm sure mayhem will ensue verysoon!!

    Mel x

Tink there is no rule :D you do what you feel is right!
Some people prefer to wait n see if scan is ok in case they lose it or if they are going to abort if scan/tests pick up downs or any of the other stuff they test for.
1st time I found out at 9 weeks and the way it fell ment I had to mornings in a row late into work 1st with doc 2nd with MW as soon as I walked in on 2nd day I got "why have you been he dr's 2 days in a row?"
Me: "there was a prob with a test and they wanted me back in" (was thinking on my feet!)
    Colleague: "your pregnant aren't you?!"
cue me going bright red not knowing what to say! and therefore the entire office knowing I'm preg  don't you just love gobby coworkers!

This time we waited for the 12wk scan just because I wanted to surprise people with the picture instead of just telling them :)
