... and I just added to her my ignore list. But not until I read some of her previous posts to confirm that I wouldn't be missing out on something.

    What a pathetic post!

What you have now done is suggest that the only people upset here are HPC people. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!

So you have set the battle lines and you have CREATED a schism and a feud where non existed. You have simply used this mess to have a go at the ideology you dislike. How childish.

It was before my time, but I thought somebody had previously stated that this sub-board had been split off from the main to facilitate more diverse discussions.

Discussion time is so fast paced that if you leave a thread for half an hour it will be on page 6 the next time you go to look at it. Everone loses interest, and then the debate is not worth having. You also have to fish through all the other cr*p, i.e ''does my bum look big in this'' threads to get to the thread that you want.

Sack the individual with admin privileges now!!!

so a thread about a car park full of new cars unsold is about house prices is it?

A thread about the honda team being up for sale is about house prices is it?

A thread about jeremy clarkson talking about car prices is about house prices is it?

A thread about recession in Germany is about house prices is it?

NO they are not, yes they are about the wider economy but they are not about HOUSE PRICES. Until the mse team change the guidelines and/or the name of this board to house prices and recession and the worlds wider economy I have to follow the guidelines.

Actually, yes they are. You see, you don't get falling house prices without unemployment, credit crunch and a wider recession. The first indicators of a house price crash are those very issues. If we stop discussing such issues then I'd be interested to know what issues we should be discussing? I'm sure I could make a case for pretty much any topic to be canned because it doesn't have a direct link to house prices.

Where do you want to draw the line? Is the mortgage market relevant to house prices? Yes? No? Because unemployment is much more relevant because without jobs there is no mortgage market.

If Honda shuts down Swindon for much longer or the factory closes then Swindon house prices will be affected dramatically. Therefore of course the discussion about Honda is relevant.

What is I start a topic about derivatives and the risk management market? Just because you don't understand how that is related does that mean the topic is irrelevant to house prices and should be canned?

Stop being silly and admit you made a horrible mistake.

divadee started tearing out the heart of what this board is about. You calling the howls of protest 'mob mentality' is a bit like Hitler accusing the Russians of mob mentality for defending Leningrad.

    No it's you overreacting.

Thanks fr another opportunity to say that the board guides are here to serve, not to rule. The entitlement derives from a duty to facilitate discussion. There is no 'right' to do it, and as it doesn't serve the purpose of facilitating discussion, there is no duty to do it.

They don't serve you. You are here by privilege, not right. You owe Martin and his team the respect of a polite query if you have an issue, not harrassing and belittling the an aide. It's common decency.

Except they have been moved back - not that anyone has actually said that it was a mistake - but there is actually some respect for all the sad loonies who liked things the way they were.

It's not respect I can assure you as you have to give it to get it.

I for one will be reporting abuse.

The thing is, is that the majority of the regular board posters have spoken and have said they do not agree with the move.

If we were happy with the way things were and by default, the majority were, then I cannot see why it has to be changed to account for the minority.

I started reading this board because of the threads dealing with not just house prices but also other factors which could have an impact on them. I found the board interesting and very factual...now it is boring with little content.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Yes they are. All these things are an indicator for where house prices are going, how long for and why. They show people who think they know about house prices why they might like to review their thinking.

A forum is self-selecting. If the majority didn't think they were relevant they'd not read/post on the threads and they'd quickly drop off. The OPs would therefore have the message that they weren't relevant and stop bothering.

Any forum is self-selecting, except where violence/abuse are really present. That is when a mod is needed to move something. Or where it's thought a question would get a better (more informed) response.

It was in response to you telling me to log out. Which make this from you rather funny:

Seems to me that something is afoot here, beyond posting guidelines. It is clearly heavy handed, if not draconian. Maybe a Near Year gong could be a possibility, or perhaps even an gov't advisory post?

Given the number of Clown/Brown posts, it would seem that we have almost been ethnically cleansed. I might even be forced onto GHPC/HPC.
