Excel Parking Fine - please help, I know it's my own fault! I parked in a carpark on a Sunday and thought it was free (yes, I should of checked - very very silly of me
) Anywa, I was gone for 10 mins and got a £100 fine (£60 if I pay within two weeks), is there anything I can do about this, £60 seems very steep!
Once again, this is not a "fine", it's an unenforceable invoice. You have done nothing wrong and you do not owe them a penny. Do not contact the company and ignore any correspondence from them. For further reassurance please read the other threads on here that deal with private parking tickets. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Are you for real, your wording looks a bit set up and it's posted in an odd thread. And your relief after just one reply is unusual, most new people waver and need more reassurance about the scam.
Whoever you are, it's obviously not the victim's 'fault' if they get a scam ticket like this, any more than anyone falling for any con-merchant's spin. Not sure what other posters think but I smell a rat - we'll see later if you come back and draw this saga out...
Sorry if you are a genuine victim of these scum but there have been a lot of PPC owner 'plant' posts around recently! Assuming you are a real victim of this rip-off:
Watch and learn about the scam and what to do with their rubbishy fake ticket:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAIcdi9niHA
Then read some other threads on the forum, in particular the first thread by Crabman which includes example scanned threatening letters from private parking companies (you must IGNORE them, do not appeal, NEVER pay them!):
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
Click on 'PPC letters/threats, what to expect', then click one by one on the example Debt Collector letters and solicitor threatogram links (all a load of tripe). Then click on all the other threads on the board you need to read before you understand what you are dealing with here, and gain confidence in what to do about it.
You owe nothing, it's a scam, not a real fine. Enjoy your life and file each letter, that's all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Can I just say Coupon-mad that you are one switched on cookie.
As are many others who regularly post on similar threads, you know you you are.;)
I have this terrible habit of reading posts and thinking them to be genuine pleas for help or information.
I need to take the time time to step back and consider the post and the context in which it has been posted.
I have learned a lot from reading about PPCs on this site, had I not I would have paid up when I got an invoice from them a couple of years ago.
I have also persuaded my Mother that hell and damnation do not await her for ignoring various threats from a PPC.
These companies are the scum of the earth and I am happy to spread the word to that effect, far and wide, as should anyone who reads the threads on here.0 -

If you are indeed a 'plant' by Excel, then you're being ripped off by your own company! It's £40 to start, then £100 after 2 weeks, then solicitors/debt collectors/court or whatever they want to bully you with.Next post follows in a moment ...0 -
I'm not neccessarily taking about getting a firm in to do the ticketing... There are companies out there who will issue "packs" enabling the residents to issue the tickets themselves....
What's the point? Most people go on the internet now and soon find out not to pay unenforceable scam invoices.
What's moral about putting up a sign with unenforceable and unlawful contract terms and then issuing fake parking tickets?
Sometimes it's better to act like an adult and educate people not to abuse your property. Joining a little clique, working with a company who exists soley to deceive people day in day in an attempt to enforce your own idea of justice is just stooping the same level as those who genuinely abuse your road.0 -
Hi,
I am a member of staff and usually use the staff car park but it was full and the policy for the metrocentre staff is if there is no room in the staff car park you arent allowed to park in the customer car park, so you have to go to the coach car park which is a 15 minute walk away but i couldnt be bothered so I decided to park in the customer car park where I have parked before that around 20 times before but when I finished my shift today I had a parking ticket from town and city parking which I paid straight away as i though it was real (sadly, from reading comments i'm starting to think i threw away £20)
I was just wondering if i park there again and i get another parking ticket should i just use it as toilet roll as its not 'lawful' as i have been hearing or are they doing the right thing saying as i am staff and are not allowed to park there. If I should not pay it, is there any legal rights or anything i could use in my defense.0 -
CT Ltd invited by Factor, overseeing general maintenance etc, to 'police' parking within the complex where son lives. Son objected and refused to sign up to any scheme involving a PPC, therefore he has not been issued with a permit. His car is parked within the secure underground car park which can only be accessed by residents who were issued with a 'zapper' when the flats were built a couple of years ago. Scheme started Monday and he has now received 3 tickets each issued at around 5am. CT Ltd employees must be entering the car park with the full knowledge and permission of the Factor. Original reason for setting up the permit scheme was to deter commuters from using the area! According to deeds son is landowner in common with other residents in the complex. Told by Factor that majority, therefore not all of residents signed up to the scheme. Intends to ignore all tickets and has now instructed his lawyer to get involved as police say it's a civil not criminal issue. Fined for parking on your own land whilst in a secure underground area over which you have part ownership. I think not!0

And how do they know yours is a staff car and not one belonging to a member of "the public"?
And if you work there you will know it is not in Newcastle.0 -

Do not dignify these clowns by
a) calling it a fine
b) engaging in any communication with them0
