I'm not sure if this has been covered elsewhere in the previous 77 pages of this thread... However, I wonder how you would feel if you lived in a private road and paid circa £400 a year for the upkeep and other people constantly parked in your road? Sometimes the non residents park on the pavement meaning you can't get past with your child's buggy. Sometimes their cars leak oil. Sometimes your visitors can't park close to your home because non-residents/visitors have used up all the space in said road.
Would you just accept it, or would you want to erect the neccessary signs and issue tickets in an effort to put non-residents off parking on your property?
As an owner of the road; I feel what they are doing is as cheeky as parking in your driveway.

If it's bad then think I might talk to the other residents about putting in a large gate if the road is completely private.
I certainly would never, never consider using PPC scammers or clampers. They are truly the scum of the Earth.
I know how you feel but I would accept it. My road is next to a Residents Parking scheme and we lose our spaces quite often due to the knock-on effect. My road is also narrow so we have to park partly on the pavement, however there's space for a buggy usually.
The Council gave us the opportunity to join their lovely parking scheme. We declined, so did the other 3 streets parallel to us. No way!
Tickets, permits and so-called 'solutions' incentivised by money are not the answer IMHO.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Coupon mad
Where I live the only parking is down the side street, that in effect is sort of residents parking but it is a free for all. The town where i live has P&D in the car parks. As we live so close to town alot of people that work there park all day here, aslo we have a school just around the corner. Its a narrow road but the 4X4 that park there on the school run make it impossible to get down the road.
I personally would welcome council parking along this road. With permits, as long as Im not paying £100s of pounds for it.
I would also welcome actually having lines painted to show you the area that you park in rather than a free for all.
I wouldent want to see lots of tickets being issued but that cars that do park there are given fair warning that its residents parking.
Only 3 houses possibly 4 that would need to use that space yet we constantly have around 12 spaces all full.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

Install gates, barriers, bollards etc. Employ ppcs/clampers and they will eventually turn their attentions to you. They always do.0 -
Wow Coupon Mad... "Absolute Scum of the earth"? That's a bit strong don't you think? What about terrorists, !!!!!philes, rapists etc etc. surely they would be classed as "absolute scum"? Someone slapping a ticket on your car because you are either too lazy to read signs saying "private road - residents parking" or don't have any respect for private property couldn't really be classed as "absolute scum of the earth" in the greater scheme of things...
Anyway, I take it you don't like them... It would be great to put gates on the entrance to the road; however... why should we fork out several thousand pounds to install gates and issue enough remote control opening/closing gadgets (we are off a main road and therefore can't really leave our vehicles in the middle of the road whilst we manually open them) for all the houses when it would be easier if people respected private property...
Personally, I'm not too keen on the cowboy clampers etc.; however like all industries there are good and bad operators...
So, just to clarify... as a "Money saving person" you would prefer to spend thousands installing gates or just let others use the services you spend hundreds on every year for free? Oh!0 -
I'm not neccessarily taking about getting a firm in to do the ticketing... There are companies out there who will issue "packs" enabling the residents to issue the tickets themselves....0

Basacially the same thing.
If I got a ticket from the residents then I would laugh at it just as I do private parking firms.
You really need a barrier as suggestedI all have learnt is from others on many sites.

They (the PPCs) are indeed scum who prey on the weak.
If you wish to have a solution to your problem that will work then you need barriers, or similar.
As a money saving solution, paying a PPC is not a good shout. It is just a waste of your money as they can and should be ignored by anyone who has the misfortune to get a "ticket" from them0 -

No.
I used that term deliberately and I knew it would 'out' you. IMHO ordinary people don't suddenly stumble upon an MSE thread and register as a newbie and post in the vein you did. PPC scammers do. Sorry but I am not that naive as to have believed your little story.
If PPC knuckledraggers don't like being called scum of the Earth then they need to get a real job and put something back into society rather than just into their back pockets.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
