Ignore them in future then - do not contact them to discuss it - waste of time.

Yeah I'm going to start doing that as there is no where in my contract that says this.

Cheers for all the info, much appropriated.

    Here's a good one.....

Get a PCN/invoice chase-up letter...it will be in [say] your wife's name [as she is the RK]

You [a bloke] ring up the scammer [usually a debt chasing agent] and see if they will discuss the case with you; if they do say anything other than 'data protection means we can't discuss it with you, unless your wife gives us authorisation'', then they have broken DP rules and you can report them to the ICO.

If they DO say 'DP means....', then say 'Oh I was ringing up to pay'....this will really !!!! them off as they really want to take the money but they won't be able to........

If they do call your bluff and ask for the card details.......give them most of the details and then 'change your mind'....now that really would drive them mad!!!!!! So close, and yet just out of reach.....lol, lol.

Just a note of thanks as I'm going through this exercise (just received CCSCollect letter for ParkingEye), and I keep coming back here for support and reassurance. Thank you all so much for your time and patience with us all.

Just wondered if anyone had heard any more about the Liberal Conservative coalition promise to rid us all of cowboy clampers, Private Parking Charge people, please?

I wonder if some of the people who support these endeavours (plants from the companies?) would mind letting us know from the inside what will be happening to their jobs.

    Many thanks
    Jen

Not heard yet about lib/con, not really a high priority I assume.
The chances of an insider being truthful about something which could put them out of business is practically nil(or less)

Yes, of course, totally agree with you. It was really to let them know that their days are numbered, and perhaps they should be considering other means of employment....

    "their days are numbered"

That would be nice to contemplate.

Will be interesting to see what places do then to "protect" their car parks.

Private clamping has been banned in Scotland for several years, and the land-owners seem to be coping there without having to resort to these thugs.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Living in Scotland and knowing someone who in the early days took the campers to court I know only too well.

Sadly the false "fines" still exist to scare people.

I thought for a moment that you disliked people who live in tents.:rotfl:
