As trisontana says above the key thing is never to contact these people. Do not write or phone.

They are simply trying to steal your money (or in this case your mother's)

    Ignore all correspondence from them.

I agree that the invoirce should be ignored and no further contact should be made with Excel. It's a scam, and the blue badge is irrelevant on private land.

But.... if your mother's eyesight is so poor that she didn't even notice the bays had gone, should she be on the roads?!

If you are unable to remove adhesive from your vehicle that has been put there by a "security company" does that constitute criminal damage?

    So in summary...ignore, ignore, ignore.

Car, town, colour, weather, location, day of week, time of day, duration, name of scammer, name of car park owner, store's name, reason for parking, name of solicitor, month, day of week, photos, CCTV, signage, size of paper, PCN name used, plastic envelope used, signed, computer generated/printed, hand-written, blue badge, poorly kid, disabled, yadda, yadda, yadda....none of these make a single solitary blind bit of difference.....

    It's a matter of one word...ignore.

Try reading the sticking entitled : "Please read this before posting"...
...which you obviously didn't see. Any questions that aren't answered in it, feel free to post again.

Is this also the case where parking tickets are issued through hospitals? Would it be safe to ignore those ones?

Also, can these carparking freaks really gain access to your information via DVLA?

Yes, they can access your details through information requests to the DVLA so long as they are a member of the BPA (British Parking Association). Depends who issues the hospital ticket, if the council then I would recommend not ignoring. Cost of parking at hospitals is absolute extortion though, it gets my back right up.

They must be able to access DVLA or how else would they get the names and addresses of car owners?

I meant, I wasn't sure if they just say these things to frighten you. Obviously it would be the logical way to track down the car owner!

Also I wasn't sure if anybody could access that info, but as PvtPyle points out, they'd have to be a member of the BPA- I didn't know that existed, so thanks for that. Also, I agree with PvtPyle, the parking charges are extortionate for visitors AND staff in hospitals. Utterly pish!

My dads been in hospital for over 8 weeks now, have spent so far £120 on parking as I have been visiting him everyday.

On other note they can requested details from DVLA at £2.50 a pop i belive, how do you think they make their money.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

Actually the DVLA can only give them details of the registered keeper, who is not necessarily the owner or, more importantly, the driver. So they are wasting their money.
