I phoned using the 0800 number, said I saw their offer £14.99 silver package, with free router. Told I don't need the wireless router. They still said no that's just free, take it, we can provide you support. I said not interested in router. They said it's still £14.99 with a free month. They said shall we sign you, I said No, I was going to sign with UKONLINE, just saw their offer and just checking, thank you very much. Then was told they will do £9.99, first month free, 12 months contract, unlimited with a adsl modem. Then I signed up. If you ask they will give you a free dial up also until broadband is up and running.

However, you could sign up online, through quidco (£45)and get the router (sell on ebay for £55) and get a month free so the total would be:

    (£14.99 * 11) - £45 - £55 = £64.89
    £Equivalent of £5.41 a month

I'm torn between doing this with AOL for their unlimited downloads and general good service, but only having 1Meg or going to Eclipse for more than twice the equivalent monthly cost but having up to 8Meg (but with a stupid tiering system as to who gets the most bandwidth, and the talk that they're moving to the notorious Tiscali LLU network it's putting me off a bit)

Was seriously considering Euro1Net and even signed up a couple of weeks ago, but then cancelled again since they hdn't confirmed my order and their website reminded me too much of E7even....

Has anyone on here decided to go with Eclipse Evo1?

I haven't signed up yet, but Evo1 is certainly top of my list.

However, the FUP and shaping issues may not suit everyone - however, it seems to fit my usage like a glove...

Most of my email, internet browsing and VOIP usage is during daytime, lighter in the evenings. Some downloads from http/ftp sources (Linux ISOs etc.), and only occasional p2p downloads, but I'm happy to schedule any downloading to occur overnight on a CCTV server - so I shouldn't be anywhere near falling foul of the FUP.;)

The current free AOL router is selling on ebay at not more than 30 pounds at the moment (sometimes even a lot less). Maybe too many people signed up to this trying to seel the router afterwards....

    Hi,
how would then complete your sign-up? Via the phone?
Or will they send you an email with the full written terms? I would not trust the simple words of their operators in case of future problems...

    Hi codetown

It was a conversation over the phone. I know after I got the deal few AOL users got their prices down as well to £9.99 a month.

We rang Bt today on 08000856161 and explained the situation, the nice gentlemen went off and came back a few minutes later to say that the marker will be removed on our line on the 24th, it is still another week away but at least we now know when we will be able to order Broadband from another supplier. It may be worth a try.

    How did you manage this?

I'm getting really annoyed with BT. I have tried ringing them twice now and having explianed the situation I have been told twice that BT cannot cancel any orders made by a third party. When I told them that following a telephone conversation with OFCOM, I'd been told OFCOM had informed BT to cancel/clear all e7evens connections, and that they had 10 days to do it, BT said that OFCOM were not allowed to do this and that it contravened third party law.

They told me the marker has not been removed, and they could not say when it would be/if it would be. I was advised to ring e7even and ask them to cancel it. They could no understand that e7even are no more, and I have noone to call from that company. She went and asked her manager and apparently he confirmed all she had just told me.

I'm at my witts end, and would appreciate any advice.
    Thanks.
