I never took the comments as being unsympathetic.

The reason that I havent jumped at the chance of the MAC code, is that prior to these issues I was 99% pleased with the service that E7even had provided. My brother in the meantime has had no real problems with his e7even service despite the changes made. I am now giving them another few days to see if they can sort the problems out and restore the service to the previous high levels I experienced.

All in all my broadband connection over 32 mths averages at £8.05 - which is fantastic IF working, therefore - you pays your money and takes your choice, im still hoping that my gamble pays off - however Ive lost much more in the past on gambles that didn't, we shall see

    Fingers Crossed

  • Hi all,
as some of you know, I have recommended e7 strongly for a long time due to the brilliant service and great value for money that they used to offer.

Unfortunately they have messed up royally over the last 3-4 weeks.
I have also been affected by these problems (I am sure that some of you will be pleased to hear this) and managed to get connected to the bbuk realm on Monday. It is painfully slow for most of the time.

All other realms seem to be okay, and there has been an update on the e7 website this morning :

    Update: 18th Jan 2006 11:03.
Engineers are working with the network provider to resolve the speed issue on the BBUK ADSL network.

Some progress has been made and we believe that the current speed problems on the BBUK network are nearing a resolution, at this time we are unable to confirm a time-scale for the problem to be fixed, however we will post an update once this information becomes available.

Again we apologise for the problems that users have experienced during the upgrade period.

It will be interesting to see things develop over the next few days !
    Fingers crossed !
    To infinity and beyond!
  • This company for me since November 2005 has simply gone from bad to worse. On a 2Meg line the speed was frequently sub 100K, and then when the much promised upgrade came, it fell to sub 70K if you could get it working at all.

Forget Customer Service and Tech Support, you just cannot get through; (you can if you want to become a new subscriber). Getting a MAC number to change supplier, I just saw a pinkie coloured thing with big ears and a curly tail fly past my window.

I am glad that I used a Credit Card for my subscription as I will get my money back.

I would not recommend this company to anyone based on my experience.

They're obviously doing a fair bit fiddling about behind the scenes.

I was moved onto e7broadband - changeover worked ok for about a day and a half then I lost service. Used the emergency dial-up for a few days (pretty diabolical), then I tried swapping my modem (Linksys to Smartcom) and it worked again.. Then the news server vanished and email service was a bit hit and miss. Earlier this week the news server reappeared, today I re-connected the Linksys and it worked - line still a bit slow through.

I have raised a couple of tickets during all this - would have helped if they had read them instead of stock reply - "check your name and password" (haven't changed any settings this end).

    Not getting better for me!

I last had a connection on 11th January. Have tried all possible combinations of username repeatedly without success. Can connect to BT speedtest so equipment and phone line are OK. To cap it all, I can no longer even connect to the back-up dial-up service.

E7 have not replied to e-mails to technical support. Web site is not giving any information about the problems. For an ISP to have problems is annoying but their refusal to provide information is a disgrace and a public relations disaster.

My connection today has been much better - however it is still sporadic, sometimes it just stops whilst in the middle of something.

Last night I was downloading a 350mb file and it just cut out at 10% - could not get connected afain after that ???

Today much the same - will let me browse for about half an hour before kicking me out.

Dial up - I also havent been able to get connected - set my modem to dial 200 times - none of which would connect, when it was not busy it just wouldnt connect to remote computer.

i had considered staying with e7even after the problems had been sorted out - but now no way,

  • I had my connection back yesterday but today it has gone again.

I have now received my MAC at long last so I'm free!
  • I have contacted them several times by email as I have 5 e7even accounts and only 1 works. The others accounts have no internet like the rest of you. The emails come back just say there working on it use the dial up service. I have tryed phoning them but it takes to long to get through or I just get cut off from there tech number 09056 241150 which is £1 a minute and has so far cost me about £27 and there customer service number which is national rate dont want to know. I have decided to go to another in ternet company but have been waiting for over a week for the migration codes.

  • My connection has disappeared again so that has decided it for me - I'm off somewhere else as soon as possible. I'd gladly pay 3 times the price not to have the hassle of managing the family's expectations.
