You wont get a MAC, but around the 14th July, the E7 marker will be removed from your line. This will leave you free to sign up to BT as a new customer (they may charge you a connection fee though). Unfortunately you have another few weeks of dial up to go.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I thought it was 14th that the marker was being removed. I'm thinking of signing up with Primus or Nildram and they both said that they had been told the marker would be removed on the 14th, but it would then take up to 10 days to set up a new service.
Many thanks Rex for the well informed posts re E7. I've found them really helpful.0 -

Thanks for pointing that out. I normally read my posts once they're on the board to check for typos. I missed that one! It certainly is the 14th.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Actually Rex is correct, they're removing markers on the 14th but they take 7-10 working days to remove so the 24th/25th is a date E7 customers are looking at to get the service fully removed0

God bless this place which has been very helpful where Offwrist have failed.
I have been with e7 for quite a while and though I could see they were struggling have stuck by them and my contract is not due to expire till September 07. I have been pleased with what I have had for the money that I have given them and any refund that I get from Visa will be a bonus. If this transition had been a message that they were going under and the option to go with the new crew or receive a mac code i would probably have continued to stick with them realising that they had really sold too cheap and that I was one of the beneficiaries of their methods. I will not however be blackmailed like this.
Given that a trading standards officer has confirmed that we have a 7 day cancellation option ( plus up to 3 months while the ts & cs remain as they are), would a good choice be to sign up with them and then cancel and demand a mac code? I note that a few people have signed up and then cancelled before discovering the well concealed small print and wonder if any of these folk obtained mac codes on cancellation.
This would not only be a simple way out for us but if we all sign up then cancel and demand mac codes we would enormously hamper the ability of these folk to create more misery. If they fail to isue mac codes on request can they be taken to the dungeons?0 -

Unfortunately ezeedsl (just like e7) have chosen not to sign up to the Broadband Migration Code of Practice.
This means that they do not have to provide a MAC at all if they don't want to. I was told this yesterday by an OFCOM officer.
I will not be signing with ezeedsl due to the extremely dodgy business practice they have used to extort money from us. I will not be forced to sign for them or any isp. I reckon I will go with euro1net's talk and surf 8M package - looks excellent value with 50GB download allowed plus inclusive 01 and 02 calls for a tenner a month. Only downside is it is an 18 month contract ! What others are people going for and why ?
I can't wait to get my marker removed and get back to broadband speeds! To infinity and beyond!0 -
As I did not want interruption of service, I did sign up with ezeedsl.
It has been fast and stable so far.
(I still get 2 Mbps, altough the new contract is for 500kbps).
I wonder if anybody has had any luck with a refund from E7.0 -
Anybody got e7evens web page advert giving the signing up rate. Was 245 GBP for 24 months when I signed up. Hoping to get help from credit card company but have no proof of period signed up for.0
