I guess that E7 are still inundated with correspondence relating to the ongoing problems. Many things that should be happening are just not being done. A lot of people have not had upgrades processed, people who have asked for refunds for unprocessed updates are still waiting, people who have requested MACs to allow them to leave E7 are still waiting. My guess is that we have reached a critical point in the claims process where claims are either going to small claims court or are being pursued by credit card companies. E7 will be giving priority to dealing with such matters. They have very few resources so other matters will be slipping.

As the MACs are so vital to those of us making an exit; is there a correct procedure to observe with E7? I sent my user name and email address but is there more I should have sent; is there a legal requirement for them to issue a MAC within a specific period or can they just drag out this dreadfully painful experience as long as they want.

    Thanks for any help

Guys, a bit offtopic on the service thread, but I post here as I assume many of e7 customers might be subscribed to this thread.

If you are an e7 customer beware of potential unauthorised fraudolent charges on your card from e7/GenUK. Check this:

I cannot believe it they have charged £15 to my credit card, is there anything I can do to get this money back and to stop them making further charges to my card?

You are not the only one. Write your experience on the adslforum, then write to e7 asking your money back and if they don't give it back immediately, call your card provider and block the payment.

It is unauthorised and you can stop it immediately.
e7 knows it and should not oppose to give it back to you. This whole exercise might be organised to get some cashflow or might be a genuin error (e7 is certainly not immune from errors).

call your credit card company and ask for the 'disputed purchases or chargeback' department. they'll guide y ou through the process of recovering your money.

I called my credit card company and they said that payments cannot be blocked and that if I cancelled the credit card, which I have a balance transfer on, that they could still make charges and I would still be responsible to pay them.

Seems like there is no way of winning with this company!!

If a significant number of us complain we should at least get a mention on BBC Watchdog, if not a full report:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio/watchdog/contact_computers.shtml

Click the link above and fill out your details - it will take just a minute. For the text box "BRIEF details of your story" you can use the following text if you have little time (or write it in your own words):

Since December 2005 my broadband connection to e7even has been very poor and often non-existent. The company have blamed this on upgrades and since the beginning of the year have not been responding to any email, postal or telephone correspondence. I am still having problems with my connection and as their 'support' team never get in touch I can neither get the issue resolved or move away to another service. I understand all their customers are affected by this problem.
