funny how they acknowledge the issue of no connection to one person privately, but have convienently omitted it from the service staus page of their web site. apparently they are running a problem free service... hmmmmmmm. surely they should be forced to detail the connection problems otherwise it would be misleading to new customers. im sure trading standards should be checking this out...

So we assumed that the UK 'broadband market' is an open market and people can choose their supplier & then choose another if needed. Now we discover that some companies including guess who...E7 can do want they want and do not have to follow specific rules. Thankfully the helpful guys at Madafish have been the only people so far to give us the real picture. And I quote

"Because E7 have not signed the Broadband migration - Industry code of practice via Ofcom, you are at their whim when it comes to when and if you get a MAC"

Surely it is incumbent now upon OFCOM to tell us how they will deal with this failure in their free telecommunications market. Monitoring alone surely suggests indifference & inactivity. This battle is becoming political.

am pursuing rebate via CCC who are so far appearing helpful.
Having had no BBand access for 2.5 months have tried to reconnect with dial-up (tesco)...guess what, can't get that to work either. Probably because I have mucked about with connection settings so much trying to get e7even to work and don't have the technical nous to sort it out.
Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated.

I got my MAC code and ran as quickly as I could and migrated to Madasafish.

However, on the same email as my MAC code they said that all I had to do was tell them once I had migrated and they would refund the remainder of my account which is roughly £100 - I emailed them weeks ago and nothing is happening.

Anybody got any idea how best to pur pressure on or do I have to go through my Credit Card to get it back?
Giving up is easy...... just keep on trying!

I haven't been able to get an ADSL connection since thursday morning... or rather, I can connect to e7's servers but can get no further.

Then this morning I received a final pro-forma invoice from Nominet, informing me that my registration agent "E7even UK Limited" still hadn't renewed my domain name.

I spent 2.5 hours on hold to e7 customer services (sic) this morning and still didn't get through! I couldn't wait any longer so I left a message with my contact number... needless to say they haven't called back.

I am now left with the choice of letting my domain name lapse - with all the attendant email addresses and website address, or I can pay Nominet £80 to continue it. :(

This morning I was prepared to give them one last chance - I know, I know... I'm an idiot - but by the time I'd hung up the phone I was so incensed that I decided there and then that I'd had enough.

I'm going to try to contact them again tomorrow, but if I don't get through after an hour I think I'm going to record a message and keep ringing them back to leave the same message over and over and over again. Sooner or later their message service will fill up with my message and they'll have to deal with me... I can't think what else to do; I refuse point-blank to pay £1/minute on their tech support line when the fault is entirely theirs! :(

Don't call technical support, call customer services. Still not a cheap call but much less than £1/min.

Try a physical letter, stating it is their final warning. See the above link for details of someone who has had some success. If you have lost out because of their incompetence, then you should be able to take them to court and win easily: https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk

If you paid for your registration on your credit card or visa debit card and the total came to more than £100 (perhaps you bought internet with the domain reg) then you can contact the card company and do a chargeback AND claim compensation for your losses. If under £100 then you can only claim up to what you paid. This is your right under the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
