Guess I - along with most of moneysavingexpert e7 customers are in the 60% of the emails unanswered ?
Is anyone actually staying with them ?

Ille just wait to see what sort of compensation they offer before deciding whether to migrate or not.I have had connection for most of the time so I cannot complain too much.I did have a MAC Code which has now expired. Can I request another one?Berba0

Well not me. They just haven't been able to deliver what they promised, which wasn't much. I think that as resellers of someone else's service they will always be vulnerable to this sort of problem. OK, so the 20 quid per month I will now be paying is more expensive, but the grief that I've had in the last e7 weeks not worth any perceived 'saving'.Wins - 2004: Nothing, 2005: Zip, 2006: Nil, 2007: Zero, 2008: Naught, 2009: You get the picture0

I've now had my MAC and it and straight away I signed up to Pipex. I was with them before and had no problems and they have a good deal for people switching right now. It works out to £150 for the year with up to 2mB download and capped 1GB/month usage with no other fees.
E7 will probably reward those who decide to stay very well, but I would fear for the future. I know two other users of E7 and they are both out of action at the moment which casts doubt over E7's statement about only a minority being affected. I have had enough E7 hassle to last a lifetime - I'm going to learn from this.
As you decide to do what you are going to do - remember the pain!!!!0 -

I've had a problem with e7even off and on since December like many here. I joined in 2004 paying the yearly subscription. I took advantage of the monthly payments when offered as I was starting to loose faith in them.
Having endured the problems of upgrading their servers etc and down time, I wasn't surprised to have no broadband connection again on the 1st February.
I presumed it was more of the same problems.
It seems that the 1st of February was when my last payment ran out, and because I'd had no reminder, and couldn't get online to check my e-mail either
I've been left with no service.
I checked my e-mail via an old AOL dial up account, which was much faster I hasten to add than the e7even dial up was, and opened a ticket to find out what was going on.
I managed to get into my e7even account, and was stunned when it told me that it would cost me £70 reconnection fee and a monthly payment of £13!!
To say I was livid is an understatement.
I had a further reply from them this afternoon telling me they'd tried to ring but couldn't get through. I sent them a mail saying the reason they couldn't get through was because I was having to use my AOL dial up to get their e-mails!
As for staying with them. I'm waiting to see what they say when they call me.
I'd not had too many problems until this last 3 months, but let's say I am investigating other ISP's anyway, but looking through the problems others seem to be having on the boards, it's difficult to know which one to go with next.

If you are on e7broadband.com then you will need to change a setting in your router which is called MTU. It needs to be altered to 1430 (or possibly lower. If 1430 gives improvements but still problems, change it to 1400)
Read this post over at adsl guide
if you are using a usb type modem then it can still be altered but you need to download and run a program called Drtcp. Mentioned in the above post, but highlighted adsl guide
Nice one, wondered why i was having to multi click on ebay pages0 -
The way I think i'd compare the serivices of e7 to a good provider say (pipex) is by comparing it to cars - a lada and an Audi for instance. Both may get you from A - B eventually, but you can almost guarantee which one will break down first !!!
I hope I dont need to explain which is which !!!!
All in all you pays your money and takes your choice . I have no intention of driving a Lada !!!!If at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.0 -
So I took my MAC code along to Demon (considered Pipex, but wanted a Merc rather than an Audi) who say it won't work because they use a different connection method (IP Stream) and I need to go back to E7 and get them to cease the service first. This could take a while yet....Wins - 2004: Nothing, 2005: Zip, 2006: Nil, 2007: Zero, 2008: Naught, 2009: You get the picture0

HELP!
My connection hasn't worked for two weeks now. I've tried everything I can think of to no avail. They don't answer emails, don't answer messages and haven't given me my MAC code I asked for 3 weeks ago.
It seems I can connect to there server, but I just get the Windows errors message displayes.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I could do???Giving up is easy...... just keep on trying!0
