I contacted Otelo this morning. They took my phone number and e7 username, were very sympathetic, and said they would see what they could do, so here's hoping. I explained that I accept that e7 have trousered my money and done a runner, but I need a MAC code so that I can move on. They could only say that they were aware of some network problems with e7. I'll give Ofcom a ring now.Wins - 2004: Nothing, 2005: Zip, 2006: Nil, 2007: Zero, 2008: Naught, 2009: You get the picture0

I would just like to post that I finally got my mac (bbuk user) yesterday & migrated asap to IDNet.
I sent E7even about 3 emails requesting my mac since the amnesty link.
IDNet is £15/month for mb with 2gb cap. I chose IDNet because they are the only company offering free migration in & out under £15 with no minimum contract & no penalties if I switch contracts or leave even after 1 month. I went with them to buy myself some time before deciding who to go with next.
Netservices (bbuk E7even) are notoriously bad at giving out mac codes which is why I moved asap because I did not want this mac to lapse then have to wait again when my contract expires in April.
If E7even don't give me my 4 months refund owed since I have had no/sub dial up connection since 29th December (£250 paid for 18 months inc connection) then I will take it up with my credit card company as I make that £55.56 they owe me.0 -
Off for abot 4 hours again this afternoon!0

I am at my wits end, it is now almost a month and a half I have been without the broadband connection I paid for. I have asked them a REASONABLE amount of times! (maybe 4 times in the past 6 weeks) for help , an update, anything........ I got a reply twice telling me to "make sure I had changed my username, and that there had been no problem from the 28th December" I very nearly threw the PC out of the window in rage. They really do try and make out we are all a bunch of morons.
I was prepared to accept they had problems with the change over........ but enough is enough. These past few days have been intolerable, no connection from 4pm to 9am the next day, then today I managed to connect from 9am to 10.30 no connection in between. They have also had the cheek to disable the dialup they provided for the 1st 3 weeks of outage.
HOW long can they get away with this? My daughter who lives in Spain always complains that Spain is a third world country as far as the internet is concerned, but she says EVEN in Spain this would not have been allowed to continue............When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0 -

is it

I had been using username@e7even.com and then about 4 weeks ago I changed to username@e7broadband.com. Now neither work from yesterday.0 -

Try the BT test logons in this order to see which connects:
(no passwords are required)
All it will do is connect, you cannot browse, d/l etc..
bt_test_user@e7even-reserve.com
bt_test_user@bbuk
bt_test_user@e7even.com
bt_test_user@e7broadband.com
The one that allows you to connect will tell you which realm you been placed. Remember, you can only *Connect*, but you are not able to browse or go to sites etc..
When you find one that connects, replace the bt_test_user with your username
so if the last one connected, you would try username@e7broadband.com
But e7broadband.com is a little unstable and it may take a number of attempts before you can connect.
Good luck....0 -
Still off
Still no reply from e7even technical support.
Still no freephone dial-up.

Out of shere frustration today I phoned up Otelo who politely told me that I have to follow the E7 grievance procedure and have no success for 3 months BEFORE calling them. What a waste of time.
I think a lot of us would gladly forget the outstanding money owed and just have the MAC so we can get on with changing suppliers.
Who else has access to MACs? It can't only be E7 who can generate them - doesn't BT have ultimate control in all this?0 -
It's E7's refusal to communicate which so annoys me. Surely they could devise an email listing the various work rounds which may be effective and issue those so we had some way of passing our time rather than feeling totally useless and frustrated. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

E7 have changed the e7broadband.com gateway IP today, so it's worth trying it again.
Some people may have to re-boot.
Of course if you have authentication problems, (not working with any of the bt_test_user@ logons) then E7 will have to sort it from their end.0
