  • Morning all,

Sorry about my little rant yesterday, things did calm down with us after being a bit chilly first thing IYKWIM and today all is back to normal.

DH has gone flying (hopefully) but it depends on whether the plane is too iced up, it is looking doubtful but at least he'll have a smile on his face when he gets back if he's been up in the air.

Today I need to sort the shopping out for next week and do the washing up, we have two days worth there :o and then I need to cut the Christmas cards up to make tags for next Christmas, something I really enjoy :D

    Have a good day everyone
  • I have sorted the shopping and have saved £3.43, so pleased there, once DH gets paid on the 15th I am going to transfer what we have saved over to the savings account.

From Monday I am going to do the e-baying and have a look at MusicMagpie.

So far spent on food shopping in the last two weeks is £115.70 but I am slowly building things back up again.

Today will be a NSD as I have no plans to go anywhere :)
  • Happy New Week and commiserations to those who are back at work, please be careful in the snow if you have any.

It is a new week and a chance for me to get back into a routine, DH is back at work but silly thing forgot his work phone and his gloves. DS is back at school tomorrow but is insisting that he’s not going back.

We have got lots of snow here and I have promised DS that I will take him and his sister out this afternoon to the airfield so they can play in it once I have finished my chores.

A few good things have happened in the past two days.
    • Have made £7 on e-bay, just need to post tomorrow
    • DH gave me two £2 coins for my money pot
    • Mum is sending down a parcel with toothpaste for the kids and toothbrushes for us and a £10 Boots voucher which will get put away for someone for Christmas.
My plan for today is as follows:
    • A NSD as I do not need to buy anything
    • Change kids beds and hoover upstairs
    • Clean bathroom
    • Wash up
    • Sort washing out
    • Freeze left over chicken from yesterday and make stock
    • Sort something out for dinner
Hope everyone has a good day and gets over the Monday Morning Blues quickly.

Sounds good to me - I definitely have the Monday morning blues. Except they're whites, cos we have snow.
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Good afternoon,

I thought that I would post an update as today has been quite productive, I think it's because I know that I need to get back into a routine.

Off my list this morning, I have done everything except sort something out for dinner, however, I have been out with the kids so they could play in the snow; it was a bit too cold so we weren't out too long.

I have packaged up both parcels for the stuff I sold on e-bay so they are ready to be sent tomorrow morning...it still amazes me that anyone wants to buy my tat or the kids toys.

The parcel arrived from my mum and besides the toothpaste, toothbrushes and Boots voucher; she sent some clothes for the kids, a poster each for them, some shampoo for them and some gadget thing for the computer so we can make fridge magnets out of photo's?!?

DD and I are supposed to be going to playgroup tomorrow but I really need to catch up on things around the house so we are going to the one on Friday only this week.

A friend of ours has offered us a load of clothes for DD, which we have gratefully accepted.

So now I am pleasantly happy with my efforts today, I am now going to hunt for something to make for dinner for DH and the kids and sort out some more washing.

    Hi Tea,

you're off to flying start this year :) well done & great news on the freebies from your mum ;)

  • A bit of a late update for me, but I thought that whilst I had a few minutes I’d nip on and get it done.

DS has now gone back to school, Yaaaayyy…don’t get me wrong I do love him but he has driven me mad since DH went back to work on Monday.

I have been to the post office and Boots and instead of going to Tesco’s I nipped to Morrisons as it was in the same area and all my errands have now been done. I spent £9.36 in Morrisons and £3.11 in Boots as I used the voucher mum sent down but intend to replace.

I have cleaned the condenser on the tumble dryer and have just finished one load in the washer and one load in the dryer as well as putting away a load of the kids clothes and sorting out the washing.

My plan for tomorrow is to attack the ironing and get rid. I don’t know about anyone else but I cannot wait until the better weather comes as then I’ll be able to hang the washing out in a morning and it’ll be dry be the afternoon.

Now I’m off to wash up, do some more washing and clear the lounge of toys.

    Have a good afternoon everyone.
  • Why oh why do I feel so drained this morning? I could have easily stayed in bed. Oh well, I've got to take DS to school so can't get out of it.

DS thoroughly enjoyed his first full day at school yesterday so that's something.

Today will be a NSD as I do not need to buy anything :D

My plan for today however is as follows:
    • Wash up
    • Clean the fridge - it's in the conservatory which is fffrrrreeezing so not looking forward to that.
    • Do some ironing
    • Make DD risotto for lunch
    • List some bits on e-bay
    • Make and find something for dinner - chicken, chips and peas???
I have done my competion entering for this morning and I know I should get my backside in gear and do the daily clicks again but I have so much cleaning to get done first that for the time being I think that they are on the sideline.

    Have a good day everyone
