It was half the price for us so we have just gone with the PO. Working out abot half the price of Ford Insure whom we have been with for 5 years, NO claims! quoted as £360, and will get the £50 back (ie £310) in 28 days. So we are really pleased. Like Ford Insure this includes, RAC breakdown.:j

I have a quote from PO and tried to get a quote using the various commision rufund sites such as quidco etc each time I tried the quote WENT up finally ended up with a quote which was £40 more than my current insurer. The orginal quote I got was £30 cheaper.
The only explanation I can come up with is that the quidco sites place a cookie which the PO recognises and pumps up the price. Despite a phone call to a Mr McKay and the post office they to accept the original quote despite the emailed quote saying it was valid until 05/05/2006!
I went online an tried various excess scenarios but the quotes went up never down, he says that each time you do that then the quote is affected. Well yes I understand that but it appears that the more you try to get a better quote then it does nothing but go up. Beware!!!!

A tip to avoid an inflated quote - if that's what happens when going via quidco.

Get your quote via confused.com & select the option to buy. This takes you into the post Office quote system. Check your details & click on next until you get to the page where you are supoosed to purchase it. On this screen is a reference number (different to the one issued by confused.com) that relates to the Post Office Quotation System.

Note this number down, exit & log back in via quidco & use the actual Post Office ref number to retrieve your quote.

    Hi there

I got a quote thru for Post Office thru confused or insuresupermarket which was really cheap. The quote seems to have expired so I went directly to Post Office for another quote which was more expensive but still cheap (if I get the £50 PO). I just read about Topcashback and have registered but it seems unable to display Post Office page at present.

I wondered whether I could go via Topcashback even though I already have had a quote and if you still get the £50 PO going via a cashback site?

    Any ideas? Thanks

The insurance was due up for my wifes car a Peugeot 205 at the beginning of March so via the MSE site I went through Confused. One of the cheapest was the Post Office at £88.53p Third Party fire and theft. I thought that must include the £50 cashback but no when I rang them it didn't. Postal order for £50 arrived yesterday so in effect 12 months insurance for just over £38 a bargain or what!

Well. I registered with Topcashback and went thru to Post Office - retrieved my quote and have just paid. So if I get the £50 postal order plus the £45 from Topcashback - I get fully comp insurance for a year for £131. My renewal from Churchills was £335.

Woohooooo! I love you guys!:D
