I ordered a kitchen, then a unit door seperately. The door came today and I got a call saying that I would get a text this Thursday telling me what time they expect to arrive on Friday. I'll definately post on Friday to report on how things turn out.

btw, I've never recieved confirmation from mcr saying they've recieved my proof of purchase. What are others doing who ar in the same position? I've just got this horrible feeling I'm going to wait nine months and then they're going to say "Sorry, didn't recieve it". Any advice?
nobody gets confirmation..you could try phoning them..the claimby date has passed..sorry..
  • I ordered 2 doors last Thursday (5th) 2 weeks delivery quoted but they were delivered today (Wednesday) can now finish off out units after 4 months!

    Hi

I have managed to place an order here today (by phone) for my missing items - so hopefully the kitchen can be finished now.

I find it a bit intriguing though that if this is supposed to be a totally separate venture that only bought the stock how come they can call up your order details !!!!!

    Good Question !!!
  • I finally recieved my missing parts yesterday. they were ordered on the 3rd but i was not given a delivery date. (luckly i was in when it arrived ) now i have just got to wait for my claim money.
  • Glad to say my kitchen arrived today. No drama. No complaints. Obviously I'm still peeved that the administrators didn't just hand over the kitchen that I'd already paid for but I don't want to get into that again. Just going to be glad when it's fitted and I can put this whole sorry story behind me.

Also, I just want to thank everyone who has contributed to this forum. It's been a great source for knowledge, not to mention comfort. I've really appreciated it. Thanks everyone.

My MFI kitchen was fitted in August but the freezer broke down 10 days later. A new one was ordered with delivery due in December (4 months later!!) Of course, it never arrived. After umpteen letters to everyone I filled in a Proof of Debt form (£399) and this week had a letter from Black Horse (I'm on an Interest free finance plan) to say my balance will be credited with £399. A result!
  • i emailed trading bargains asking if they had what i wanted and they rang me up said they did and at £50 cheaper than mfi so hopefully they are going to deliver it in 7-10 days time and i can finish my kitchen, bit peed off tho when he said they brought up the mfi stock so this is the stock that the administrators said they didnt have and couldnt supply what a load of bullocks, on monday i shall be ringing mcr to find out where my refund is and how come my units were sold to someone else.watchdog seem to be shying away from getting involved in this.

Just had a refund off AMEX for £2200 under section 75

That's heartening to know. When did you submit your claim?
  • Well no-one ever did reply to my questions......but never mind. Here is my current situation.

Wrote a letter to HBOS via recorded delivery (signed-for) on 22nd December 2008 saying I wanted to claim back £1600 under Section 75. Royal Mail "lost" my first recorded-delivery letter, er, so why did I pay for recorded delivery exactly again ??

So wrote and sent another on 19th January 2009 by special delivery, so at least item could be tracked. Received letter from HBOS on 2nd February saying all refunds were meant to have been completed by merchant partner to customers by end of January 2009, but "it hadn't been completed in my case" ??

I was now to "fill in this claim form and we shall start our investigation"..............er, what investigation needs to be done exactly ? The company has gone bust, it says on both MFI and administrators website, and to claim a refund from CC provider. They are legally obliged to refund all my money paid by CC, they know it, but are just dragging their heels over it ! To date, I have not heard anything back, I am going to give them another 5 days then I will be kicking up a stink some more. I am sick of all this, I just want my cash refunded which I am legally-entitled to.

On another note, ordered another kitchen from B&Q about 4 weeks ago, which took around 3 hours from start to finish, and got it for around same price in the end (but it's nicer kitchen) and am paying 0% interest over 2 years. Delivery is due in about 3 weeks.
