Hello, I don't know if you are still looking for minori walnut wardrobe but I bought one before MFI went bust and then my house purchase fell through! I've now moved somewhere else but don't need the wardrobe any more because I have built-in ones at the new place. So if you're still interested in buying an unused brand new minori walnut double wardrobe with drawer underneath, let me know!0 -
Does anyone know who makes the Faraday home office furniture (and bedroom furniture) for MFI? I may have to source this directly if no delivery.
Thanks
Hi, Faraday is manufactured by http://www.friulintagli.it/ in Italy and I have called them and emailed them to ask if they can supply me with a missing Tall Faraday Wardrobe door. To date they havent relied?
Has anyone got a spare 2200mm tall Faraday wardrobe door? If so please contact me.0 -
I have had all my money refunded through Barclaycard, and I personally think they were helpful and my money came back into my account quite quickly, so a big thank you to Barclays. You have to contact them first and tell them the amounts you are claiming and they send you a form with this information on along with a reference number. I provided invoices and account transactions and receipts with the amounts I wanted refunding. Within days the money was back in my account, although they did not tell me via letter or anything but it is definitely back in my bank, so I think some of you should check your accounts and I hope you have a nice suprise like I did.:j
The number to call for help at Barclays is 01604 254689 option 3, hope this number is of help to some of you.
Hi Did you receive any of your items? I have submitted my claim but because it is over £5k it has been referred to another department. How much was your claim?
Thanks henm010 -
I would consider the prices that tradingbargains are charging to be pretty outrageous. i required a 600mm drawer front (aurora range) and handle. I was forced to buy a door and drawer pack and the total cost for these, the handle, and delivery was £93! they must know that there is no other way for people to obtain these missing parts so i bet their prices reflect this. before my order with MFI was cancelled, it worked out cheaper to buy from them:mad:
anybody want a brand new 600 door front???0 -

Hmmm reading some other forums they seem to indicate that this venture has some links to the old MFI management team, think it stinks to me
and also an ex MFI said from an inside source said they only paid 20% of cost price for it all so stand to make a fat profit out of us, still The admistrators will eventually declare the actual amount paid when they declare the dividend to the creditors.
Not that the information will help us.0 -

I agree, we rang to order some missing items to an Aurora Kitchen and they wanted £2,071 - absolutely outrageous.
We have already lost £12,000 to MFI via cheque, and have been told we are not likely to get anything back. After 4 months of no kitchen we have pruchased an ex-display, but I am not giving them another penny, especially if all the rumours are true0 -

I'm new to this site but I must say that I have found the information in these forums very helpful. We purchased an MFI kitchen (£1200) for delivery on 20th December using a Halifax credit card. Following the collaspe of MFI, I sent off the MSE Section 75 letter just after Christmas and after some form filling over the last couple of weeks we have just recieved confirmation of our refund. However the letter did have the following caveat:
"the merchants bank may disagree with our actions and contact us with more information"
Not entirely sure what this means but I'm just glad we can put this sorry saga behind us.
Good Luck in getting your MFI refunds
drummundo, I had the same letter from both SKYCARD (£500) and Halifax (£3500). I think it is a standard letter that is sent out. I don't think closing the account would help... any ideas... just incase?!
Just make sure you keep hold of all your documents for at-least a year!
EDIT: Just to let you all know.... Halifax 'reset' my 0% for 10 months deal because the MFI balance tied up 99% of my credit limit (I said that I wasn't technically able to use it due to the disputed transaction). I wasn't expecting them to do so... just asked on the off chance... even had a letter to confirm it!0 -
