Obviously we didnt realise we would lose all our money. We had the money in the bank, didnt want to use credit. But lessons learned it dosent pay to work hard and save hard for what you want............

so so true , we paid by cash thinking we would be ok , wouldnt do it again :confused::confused::confused::confused:
  • Went to Trading Bargains in Colindale. Not much there, almost no kitchen stuff at all. Apparently there is going to be new stock arriving everyday and the kitchens will be arriving late next week. There was a lovely Armitage Shanks sink there for £350 but I decided against buying it. I then drove to check out the Barking store and they had the exact same sink for £115!! I googled it when I got home and it seems the £350 was the MFI price. So be careful. Nothing is marked with the original price and there are no catalogues to hand.
  • Guys

Who would want to buy stuff that is not going to have a guarantee for the first year, what happens when shortages occur, or when you open a box you get damaged items. Considering that this wheeler dealer most probably paid 15% to 20% of the stock value eg 20p for every £1, why would one want to pay full prices. I would hold making a purchase for a good 4 to 8 weeks and when they get desparate to get rid of the stock they will price it down. Bit of shame thos egig adverts taliking about MFI Bankruptucy stock, but not about livelyhood of the staff who lost their jobs and I will let you guys guess who his team is for this project

please before dealing with these people, bear in mind that they are selling things that we have paid for..they are in essence selling "stolen property"..i would rather have no furniture than give that man my money..i e-mailed watchdog but they did not even bother to reply..more grossly overpaid tv wanabies..
  • sorry you didnt have any luck with Watchdog - I too think it sounds incredible that I am buying back that which I have already paid for once (£6000 - cash sale). They are charging £150 delivery charge on top of about 50% of the original cost - I dont understand why the media are uninterested, there was so much hype with Woolworths - which was a more straightforward issue, since they had been losing money for years and nobody was owed goods - so little about MFI - I do wonder why?

the administrators said originally they expected to have sufficient funds to pay everyone out..this i believe took the sting out of the tail for the media..its now gone on so long asfar as the media are concerned its"old news"..
  • Has anyone had their refund from Alliance & Leicester? When I rang to ask for claim form they said that they don't send them out, because I want to claim from them. !!!!

wenden, I'm concerned you don't appear to have even started the process to claim back your money? How did you pay.. credit, debit, cash?
