MFI Administration article discussion

I purchased a 4k kitchen (Space White) from MFI and paid £1000 on my Bank of Scotland CC and £3000 on my Lloys TSB CC. It was due for delivery this Friday, of course I know this won't be delivered. Both my Credit Card Companys are not interested as my order hasn't been officially cancelled. I had to beg Lloyds TSB to send me a Section 75 Claim form anyway and Bank of Scotland refused to send me one yet as they said they have been told all MFI orders will be honoured?????

I am the same postion as a lot of people - do I order a kitchen from elsewhere or wait it out as I don't want to end up having to pay for 2 kitchens.

I too am surprised at the lack of press and tv coverage, I will definatley be contacting BBC Watchdog and a few national papers and hope others will do the same.

Also does anyone know which warehouse that Space Range kitchens would be stored at and a contact name/number?

Shame on MFI and MCR, I hope they can sleep easily at night knowing the worry their delay tactics are costing a lot of families...

Im in need of a end panel for a wall unit. Its grigio. Ive checked all the other diy sites and none look the same. Does anyone have a spare one?

I would go back to the credit card company, because the fact that MFI did not deliver on the 26th is enough to submit a pay back request from the credit card company (see Martin's guide to section 75). My credit card company also confirmed this. I have received my form from the credit card company today and all they asked was what attempts had I made to contact MFI and signed to confirm I had not received the items (also due on the 26th Nov). Of course I don't know yet if I will get the refund. Good luck and I hope you mom is bearing up.

Sorry all, my last post was a reply to Kitchen Hell posted today at 1010. I don't seem to get the hang of posting on these forums. Put a post in the otehr day in a forum and lost it completely. Who knows where it went???

Does anyone know how we stand with part orders - as I can't get an answer from my credit card company. I have got nearly half of the bedroom units I ordered, but if the credit card company only refund the elements of the order that I didn't receive, I will be really out of pocket as won't be able to match it up... Wouldn't be a problem with Kitchen as Howdens stock the same lines, but am worried about the bedroom units?

Does anyone know if I can claim back whole cost of order as I won't be able to match the other units?:cool:

Hi , This the first time I have been on this site and am not sure if iam doing it correctly. If I get any replies I guess i will find out. Chunkty handles were in the MFI stores last week, they were giving them away to customers also on ebay.

I sympathise with your plight we have almost all of our Space cream kitchen, but the order for three chunky end panels was cancelled so we need 3 chunky end panels for the wall units, if anyone knows how to obtain these i would be very grateful to hear from you. Crazy thing is they were ommitted from the original order in error, if only we had checked it!

Yes you can claim on section 75 if you have paid by credit card ,Just tell them that mfi failed to deliver your order on time so have broken the contract and you want a refund,i done it last night with my halifax mastercard

I am still trying to get to grips with posting on the website!
I too am in need of 3 SPACE CREAM, CHUNKY END PANELS for WALL UNITS.

I may have some other pieces left over once I have finished the kitchen and will pass these on to anybody who may need them. We may for example have two fridge doors which i picked up from MFI in case I couldn't get any thing else in the same colour to try and finish the kitchen some how. :j Here's hoping we all get some joy there must be the pieces around there is someone on this forum - Mike -who is collecting up bits from MFI warehouses. He may be able to help.

Just spoken to somebody from Radio 5 live and explained our problem, she said she will try to contact mcr asap and she will try to raise this issue in Radio 5 live phoning in the morning someday next week.
