    Hi all,

I said I would give possitive feedback if I recieved my cashback as its only fair to them, so here it is.

I sent my original bills and dispatch note with a self addressed envelope by special delivery so I know that they signed for it on 29/11.

On 07/12 I recieved and email notifying me that they had recieved them and within a couple of days I got the original bills back.

After 28 days I chased them up by email and a week later had a reply saying they had just submitted my claim to the system and to allow another 28 days.

I emailed back to say how disappointing the service was, and recommended that they changed their T&C's to a more accurate cashback wait-time so that customers would know what to expect.

A couple of days later I got the cheque. No cover note or letter but that's not important.

So it took about 6 weeks, but that doesn't seem too bad considering all of your problems.

Regarding the direct debit problem; I had a problem with it to start with, which resulted in my first month bill not getting pain on time. As this is one of MO's terms and conditions, I emailed the forum team who put a note on my account so that it wouldn't affect the claim. That's what I would suggest doing. They seem very willing to help. :T

I placed my first cash back into the MO and received cash back this week. The amount was correct. So I am quite happy although the cheque is on its own in a large envelope perhaps a 'with compliments' chit might go down well. Just to show its not begrudging cash back.

    Yeah, thats what I thought.
It almost seems like its a special case for a cheque to get sent out, so they don't have a standard "with compliments" note for the job!
Oh well, the cheque's the important part. Fingers crossed I don't mess up before the next claim!
  • I am having terrible trouble with the Mobile Outlet. I bought two phones, one for me and one for my wife, which were identical models on the same tariff. Mine has been fine and I even received my cashback within the correct time limit. The other phone has been more difficult. Initially it would not work at all. So I tried to contact the Mobile Outlet who ignored my emails and I had what appears to be the standard problem of trying to speak to somebody on the phone. Anyway, I contacted three who told me that there was a problem with the sim card as the contract had been cancelled by the retailer! Again I tried to contact the Mobile Outlet to no avail. The next problem starts with trying to claim the cashback. Mobile Outlet's t's and c's refer to both the first six bills and six months of bills for cashback purposes and my wife's phone had to be re-connected and consequently the timing of the bills became disrupted. I emailed Mobile Outlet just before sending of the second cash back claim and they replied(!) stating that I was just to send the first six bills, but when I sent them in they wrote back saying I had missed the deadline for my cashback. I have since written to them and emailed and posted on here previously but with no response. Sorry to be long-winded, but if I had made a mistake I would be prepared to let this go, but I feel Moble Outlet are surely at fault for cancelling my contract without contacting me first. I would be grateful if somebody from the Moblie Outlet would contact me to discuss this at this stage before I take this further.
    Thanks

Got my cashback fine. Had no problems really, all well within 28 days!

They pay it in equal installments, was wondering why I only got £72 lol but £72 * 5 = £360!!!

    Thanks MO

I adhered to the terms and my cashback was still rejected; maybe they display integrity here as it's publicly viewable. My situation: I was to send in the first 6 months bills within 21 days of the date on the 6th bill (despite the actual date of receiving the 6th bill being outside my control) ; this I did, my only mistake being not to send by recorded delivery (I have previously had a contract with another company and had no problem so didn't anticipate any shenanigans) - they say my bills arrived 3 days outside the time limit - my assertion was that the terms state that they should be sent within the timescale (ie not necessarily received by them) - despite all this they still refused my cashback, hence my moneyclaimonline for which I have received judgement (but no money). I think they are rather selective in their displays of integrity, I have had no communication here as a result of my posts.

I have encountered exactly the same problem when submitting my CASHBACK claim to MO.
During August Bank Holiday Week, I have posted my claim and 6 months worth of bills, by standard First Class Royal Mail unrecorded. Needles to say my claim was rejected out of hands on the grounds that it was received outside of allowed 21 days.

Thanks to this forum I am now taking the matter to the small claims court via moneyclaimonline.

I found MO’s attitude totally unacceptable, as they choose when to reply if at all and always unhelpful, trying every trick in their unfair T&C to refuse your cashback claim.

I would advise anyone to avoid them at all costs.
