 Dd in bed,ds1+2 at Judo with OH,peace and quiet.
Very OS meal tonight.I unearthed all the single portions of various leftovers:ricey thing, pasta thing,ratatouille,2 pork burgers, bag of couscous, that were lurking in my freezer.Defrosted them all, dolloped a splodge of each on their plates and they all said 'mmm this looks yummy'.
So now my freezer is cleared of annoying and aging leftovers.
I could murder a bottle of wine, but supposed to be giving up midweek bottles(there's always the quince vodka).0 -
House of pooky is all quiet....bliss.
Made shortbread this morning and a white loaf (which turned out perfect - had so many dissasters lately that I'd considered throwing the BM in the loft)
The beef stew was great - the dumplings even nicer. Had apple MW sponge with custard again for pud.....I'm not a pud person but it was lovely.
DD's are still poorly - dosed up with medicine and tucked in bed with heated wheat and lavendar bags to keep them warm.
DH has gone out for the evening to a friends and I've turned the heating off and am sat here, rather fetchingly, in pj's, slipper socks, dressing gown and a lap quilt. There's nothing on telly so I'm catching up with a few old friends via msn.
Tomorrow I aim to find a bigger box for my pressie box - I've got about 27 items in my wardrobe for b'days and Xmas. Will get them all stored away in the loft. Might even go as far as to start making all the cards I need for the year too....how organized!
BarginRZL - how'd your interview go??????
SP - How was the midwife appointment????

A good day here has been had. Though I am ready to curl up and chill out!
1. Nappies hung on line for fresh air .... it began to rain, so whipped back in and on airer!
2. All voile curtains washed and one re-hung
3. Front door cleaned inside and out (glass front door now sparkling)
4. Our bedroom shiny clean including mirror, DD helped!
5. Scrummy biscuits made, scrummy biscuits half demolished! So, how on earth do you make enough to keep or freeze? DD enjoyed baking, LOL.
6. Half jar of marmalade demolished .. can't have been that bad either!
7. One wall in hall stripped of wallpaper, again DD thought this was a great form of entertainment.
8. Ironing - half done.
9. Trip to B&Q by DH and DD resulted in intended purchase of steamer, priced up incorrectly so got it at £19.99 after they tried to sell it to him for £26.99.
10. Simultaneous trip to Tesco resulted in my purchasing Christmas Puds for £2.99 instead of £11.99 with expiry date of 2007! And loads of organic bread reduced to £0.10.
Bargain_Rzl - hope the interview went well!

Evening all
All everyone is well.
BR - how did you "doctors appointment" go
SO - hope little kitty is feeling better - I hope that he didn't read you had "ginger nuts" for lunch - he will be quite annoyed
Course at work today was ok -test tomorrow.
Filled DW - but washed pots and frying pan by hand - cleaned worktops and sink - made tomorrows dinner
OH nightshift tonight - he just called just now - there was a horrible crash on the motorway this afternoon - the brother of one of his workmates was killed in it and the police have just taken him away to identify the body - he was only 37. Where the accident happened is near to Oh kids home - we go that way to collect the kids - it just show you how precious life is and to live it to the full as you don't know what is around the corner.
Take care all
Goodnight
Love

hiya everybody,
decided to post as i'm so proud of myself. made my first loaf in my new breadmaker and it's fab. fiance loves it and he was a baker lol! just did a basic white loaf and it is so yummy.
might be more adventurous with the next one.
plus we also gave away our first thing on freecycle, felt really good, we are supposed to be getting a vcr from someone at the weekend.
think i'll take some turkey breast and cq's curry sauce and make a curry tomorrow. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
Thanks to all who've asked about the interview! I think it was OK - or at least, I didn't lose control of my tongue (what seems like 5 mins waffling without a breath) or lose the power of speech altogether - these are both things which I've had happen to me at interviews before
The only trouble is I'm now not entirely sure the job is as good as I thought. Because it is a 12 month contract, the decent salary doesn't have any benefits on top of it. If I get offered the job, I'll have to decide whether escaping from my current job and getting a smallish payrise is worth 12 months of losing my current pension arrangements. I was at least feeling assertive enough to say I'd be expecting a bit more than the amount I'd quoted on the basis of the pension situation.
Rest of day has not gone so well - as you may have gathered from another thread, I got home to find my carpet drenched in perfume  NOT JUST ANY OLD PERFUME EITHER, IT WAS THE ONLY ONE I HAD, IT WAS A PRESENT, AND IT WAS GUCCI!
And my internet connection is broken (am still on dialup at present and am typing this very fast as am using the alternative, chargeable number as the prepay line is out of order. Have promised housemate I'll be sorting out broadband in the next few weeks.)
AND, just as I was PRETENDING to go to a doc's appointment, my back went out! Genuinely. It had been threatening to go all day, but didn't want to believe it as it's not the same bit of my back that normally goes! Am feeling a little bit more mobile than I was but it hurts (ouch).
Ticklemouse - LOL at your OH - mine's a guitarist as well
Back tomorrow when I have access to a decent connection.Operation Get in Shape

Hi all
I came back on here to have yet another whinge that I have next to nothing done for tomorrow (exam). But I've just read Smokey112's post and really I have no grounds for complaint considering what happened on the motorway today. How awful, that poor guy and his poor family. It's so true that none of us knows what's going to happen next.0 -
good morning all
been out late night shopping to Ikea
loads of bargains in the sale and also found the very table I went for at half price in the bargain basement, barely a mark on it (only for the study anyway) and I won't even have to put it together
had 2 vouchers for 2 course meal so 4 of us ate for £8
new down quilts for the kids so they went to bed happy
got lots of veg that's nearly at it's use by date so will be doing a SC full of soup today and can use it for my night shifts this week,

'morning Glad :hello: ... wow what a bargain session!
Today it is work as usual. Breakfast is going to be porridge, packed lunch is salad with cottage cheese and dinner is going to be a surprise 'cause I haven' really thought about it yet
We are still living mostly off the contents of the freezer and storecupboard, with fruit and veg (and cheese) added each week. So I'll have a rummage around the freezer in a little while.
Have a lovely OS day everyone!Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning OSers,
Shattered again today, up all night with kids again. DD1 has come up in a rash which looks suspiciously like measles, shes had her MMR so fingers crossed that its just a virus. Will know more after speaking to docs today. Called NHS direct last night and they didnt call back till 12.50am, then telling me to take her to doc today(well duh!) so waited up for them, went to bed at just after 1am, was woken twice by dd2, once by ds and then up with dd2 for good at 4.37. A total of 3 & 1/2 hours of broken sleep. I will try my best but feel the diet may slip a little today as I go for that quick energy fix somewheremight get some carrot and chickpea soup out of the freezer so at least I've got protein.
Was meant to be having a driving lesson today but have cancelled again due to dd, tests in 2&1/2 weeks and I'm not ready, might have to put it back.
DD2 is happily watching teletubbies right now,I'm slurping coffee and dreaming of bed.
Hope someone else had a decent night!
