Good luck with the interview Bargainrzl (I've updated my avator for you:D), don't worry I'm a babbler too!
Cheers for the avatar Lillibet - what a smiley baby! I noticed that you'd done it the other day after I asked, but by the time I saw it, the daily thread was out of date so I thought I'd say thanks the next time you came on :D

Thanks also for wishing me luck - this sounds incredibly daft but this is actually only the third interview I've ever had where it's an organisation I'm dying to work for, rather than just thinking the job sounded OK.

And CONGRATULATIONS SomersetPrincess! Must be something in the water at the mo, with MrsB and everything...

  • Hi there Somersetprincess,congrats :j
Good luck with the interview Bargain Rzl,knock 'em dead.

Have made my muffins and flapjacks and cleaned the bathroom+loo.'Fraid I used conventional cleaners as I'm trying to use them all up before I make a start on my mega containers of vinegar and bicarb(obtained from wing Yip).I want to reuse the spray bottles as well ;)

Have just received a book from Amazon which I saw recommended on this board. It's called Just Like Mother Used To Make-food from the 30s and 40s,by Angela Nilson and June Weatherall. It's second hand(pub.1980).I can see it's going to be well used. It's full of wartime type recipes only not quite as austere.Loads of traditional puddings and family-friendly food. Also lots of egg-free cakes-great for my dd ;) So thanks a million to whoever it was who recommended it on the thread about os books :T

    Hello everyone

    Congrats to SP!
hope the interview goes well, Bargain rzl

Quiet day here today, washing washed & now hanging in airing cupboard. The d/w isn't unloaded - because for the past couple days I have been really OS & done the dishes by hand as there hasn't been enough for a full d/w.
Dinner last night was meatloaf, so DH had meatloaf sandwiches to take to work with him this morning. Not decided about today; spag bog or lasagne maybe?
Didn't do exercises this morning, but as I went to keep fit last night that's not so bad. I have lost 3/4 of a pound this past week. Is that good or bad I wonder? Oh, well, it's better than putting some on!

Congratulations SP!!! I think BR is right - must be something in the air. I'm 17 1/2 weeks now - due end of June, and going through all the same stuff. Give me a shout if you want to chat.

Afternoon all, hope you're all behaving yourselves - ok, I know, Fat Chance!!

Got masses and masses of office stuff to do today as I took an impromptu day off yesterday and went back home to visit mum, which really helped put my mind at rest a bit. She's finally out of hospital now - they sent her home late last night, so at least she's a bit more comfortable, and doesnt have to put up with the food anymore!!

Right - just realised I've not had breakfast yet, which is very negligent of me, so must go and have something quick smart. I hate breakfast, and just cant get into the habit of it. Must sort myself out though.

    Have a good day all.

Edit: PS - Cant believe I forgot, but GOOD LUCK Bargain Rzl

5 minutes peace while i have a cup of tea with my lunch and then on with the job I've just remembered about which HAS to be done today while DD is at school - We, at least OH assumes we, had a soot fall last night and now the gas fire won't light  OH has left it to me to hoover the f*cking thing out again. Sorry about the language but I'm really starting to get itchy feet and wanting to move house again as this one is driving me up the wall! Between a frontdoor that I can't lock properly because I can't shut it properly so I have to leave it just locked on the yale (it looks like the joints have blown due to the damp so it's just millimeters too wide to shut), the gas fire which keeps getting sootfalls, a blocked up but not off fireplace which has sootfalls in wet weather, gaps around both front and back doors which cause a draught (yes, I know I said the frontdoor was swollen and wouldn't shut but it's only in certain places and there is a 10mm if not bigger gap at the top of the door which lets in a freezing cold draught), no heating in the bathroom, kitchen or hallway causing the growth of mold even when I open the windows in all the rooms for 10 minutes (minimum) a day weekdays! Ack it just goes on and on!!!!

Guess I had better get on with my jobs instead of complaining.

  • feeling pleased - the post man brought some copies of my marriage certificare so i can get a few things organised. It's such a pain changing your name everywhere. I might have considered keeping my maiden name if i'd known.

3 letters written and posted. Kittens are now asleep after being worn out in the garden.

I think i might read a book this afternoon - got a few for christmas that i'm keen to start.
  • Having a quiet afternoon at work for a change - nice! Off to my first midwfie's appointment at 3.30 so fingers crossed Steve! DF is rushing back from bristol to make it for the 4.30 start!

Tea will be something easy like sausage and mash, as we wont get home until about 7

    Have a great evening all!

Quick message again today. Been to town this morning to the bank, then to Bounce n Rhyme at the liberey with DD, then got her feet checked in Clarks hoorah no new shoes needed yet and finally to the post office. When we came home made a batch of fairy cakes, and a batch of oat cakes which I'm not sure have turned out right but will see when theyve properly cooled down.

Prepared tea, chicken pie, veg and mash for others and left over chicken, veg and mash for me. Just having 10 minutes sit while the TD finishes and then will get out nappies and sort out DD night things for when OH comes in (his job to bath her but he cant get the right combination for her night nappy and it always ends up leaking yuk).

Hope everyones ok not had time to read the messages yet.

    Afternoon All,

    Just catching upon posts, so.............................
CONGRATS TO SOMERSETPRINCESS (AND MR PRINCESS!)
Nothing much done today, too darn tired. Am just sitting down to a lovely warm bowl of HM veg soup with barley and a piece of HM wholemeal bread (no butter). Its delish.

DD2 is in bed, has been for 2 hours now so really do need to go and wake her soon. DD1 and ds are bundled up tight in their fleeces and are playing in the garden. I've managed to keep them both awake all day and am hoping this play session and fresh air will stimulate an appetite and make them sleepy for later ;). An early bath for them me thinks.

Have been on to the local pool about aqua aerobics and found they do it 3 times a week although at £5 a sssion I'll be going once and power walking a couple of times as well to up the exercise.

Dinner is vegies and HM pasta sauce for me, spag bol for sprogs and steak, pepper sauce, beans and wedges for dh. Now reading that lot you'd be forgiven for not believing hes trying to loose weight too .

Off for a quick browse whilst I eat this soup and then going to wake dd1.

    Bye for now,
    Al.
