    Morning everybody,
Am super- OS domestic goddess this morning ;) Packed up 4 cartons of slow-cooked chicken stock and put in freezer, made quadruple batch of flapjack 2 of which are in oven now.Children full of porridge, packed lunches done and wm on.Am now snapping at children because they keep distracting me,and dd not dressed yet or hair done(dd's hair bane of my life).

Later-will make 2 doz muffins(these and flapjacks are for school's healthy tuck shop),clean bathroom and downstairs loo, iron and write an overdue thankyou letter. All this will be done in double-quick time so that I can spend rest of child-free part of day on here ;)

I notice the preserving bug has bitten.JW it's so satisfying when you've not only made your own bread but also the jam to go on it,isn't it? And Zed it's so cheap too-£2 for 6 jars-33p a jar for top quality product-bargain!

DD dressed, wants hair doing now so I'd better prepare for battle-wish she'd let me get it cut short again-grrr

    Morning All,

Rotten nights sleep for me :( All 3 kids up, ds 3 times, dd1 once and dd2 twice. I'm flippin knackered. Been up since 5.37 and watching rubbish on tv, did watch last nights ER though which was good, I love that show.

A spot of cleaning and sorting today me thinks. Need to go into town to drop off dh's dry clean only bits for work and grab some parcel tape for the rapdily growing pile of boxes in my loft. Problem is that its damp and cold and I really dont feel like the walk today. Will get dd1 off to preschool and see how I feel then.

Wrote a long email to dd1s new preschool last night asking about session times/dates/lengths etc. She has to wear a uniform at 3! Crikey, it sounds expensive! Am I able to buy the bog standard bits.ie.grey skirts/tights/blouses etc at any place or does it HAVE to be from the school do you think. I know I have to buy some bits from them as they have the school crest on them. I would SERIOUSLY begrudge having to buy the whole lot from them as am sure its bound to be cheaper as ASDA or similar. Wonder if they do they other bits 2nd hand???

Lovely cup of :coffee: in front of me right now :naughty: but made with only1/2 the amount of powder I was having 10 days ago. Am having porridge with coconut and bran flakes today for brekkie, it tastes DELISH - yes really!

Got to dash, can hear dd1 crying from the front room,
    Chat later,
    Al.

    Mmm. Think I have problems!

All my OS cooking seems to be cakes/sweets/desserts etc! Tomorrow is Blueberry Muffins (got a till spit at Tescos and they are half price - so was technically paid to take them away!!) - this weekend is mince pies, peppermint creams and coconut ice.

I think I need to start looking at proper meals with a little more care and attention! I am already a big girl - I have to stop on these desserts! Checking out the OS Slimming World recipie thread this morning and got lots of ideas again! I seem to have lost my way with main meals and although still HM, are starting to get a bit repetitive.

My OS day today is extending to bathroom cleaning and washing. I have some bits to take to the recycling place (although I will probably get OH to do that!).

    Breakfast was lots of fruit
Lunch (which is always a snack for me - I only worrk 5hrs and dont get lunch, so I eat about 3.30 after collecting DD3 from Nursery) - Lunch will be Philidelphia (Low fat) on Ryvitas
Dinner - Chicken Curry with rice

Didn't eat the chicken last night because I refused to cook. I refused until someone washed up. So no-one ate much (the babes had something though - I'm not that mean!) And guess who stilll had to do the washing up!!

The Half-Caf coffee is working! Although OH spotted it (darn!), you can't notice the taste difference after a few days, but he is less moody, happier and is not drinking twice as much! So will be sticking to that!

    Have a great day everyone!

    Good morning all,

Got both DD's off with sore throats and head aches, was up 5 times in the night to one or other of them, they're both tucked up in bed watching telly and drinking hot squash to ease their throats.

Light day work wise, school aged ones dropped to school by DH and only one little one for a few hours this afternoon.

Beef stew with red wine in the slow cooker already, dumplings will go in later.

Brekkie - Warm weetabix for DD's (with sugar for energy)
Lunch - DH has gone off with some wraps - will work out something for DD's later.
Dinner - Beef stew and dumplings.

Will endeavour to do some more batch cooking this morning, used my last quiche from the freezer last night, have some ham that needs using up and various bits in the bottom of the fridge that can be chucked in. While I'm making the pastry I might make some chicken pies up too - have some individual pasty shaped moulds, much easier to fit in the freezer than a big pie dish size.

Hope you all have a great day......A hot bubbly bath awaits me...bliss.

  • A slow start today. These grey days don`t encourage any vah vah voom. Elderly female dog started with medication last night and is dry this morning but has no appetite. Horrible seeing things that could potentially go wrong with us as we age. I am hoping that a run amongst the trees and rabbit runs will spark her and me

Found some nut and seed loaf in the freezer and am happy to do all the veggies around that. Sliced and packed HM granary into the freezer this am.

    frugrains and yog for breakfast
    beans on toast for lunch

Am dressed to go on a cycle ride but am waiting for the weather to brighten

Today is the day I am going to start a Trinny and Suzzanna of my clothes. I have been putting it off for so long. My skin tone has changed to match my silver hair so quite a few of my clothes are absolutely not going to do anything for me and they must go!! ( she says 100 times.) I think I`ll do a couple at a time and it won`t seem so brutal. My wardrobe is stuffed but in truth I only wear the stuff on the right hand side

I hope the day goes well for you all
  • Morning! Just got back from dropping DS1 off at his gymnastics class before school (starts 8.10am!). Won't see him now till 4pm as he has got Maths Club after school too! All free of course ;)

Now going to put WM on and then embark on my quarter hour per room clean and tidy session. It's sort of adapted from Flylady where she says anything can be done in 15 minutes. Also need to fill in application form for a job I've seen and get that in today - minding not busy enough (only earning £40 per week  ) for me at the moment and had my confidence knocked since 6mo mindie's mum last week told me baby wouldn't be coming anymore as she doesn't think my dog is hygienic and she doesn't want her baby exposed to it!

In a complete quandry now whether to aggressively market my childminding or go and get a term time job which would mean putting DS2 into a day nursery. In some ways it would be good for him as he is due to start nursery school this coming September and it would get him used to not being with me all the time, plus I would have a steady income but I can't help feeling as though I'm abandoning him. Need to seriously think about this.

In a couple of hours I will have to pick up my 3yo mindie and then will head off into town to go to library and the bank before heading home (via petrol station) for a lunch of soup and rolls. Play with DS2 and mindies till 4pm, pick DS1 up, having 'Stoved Chicken' for tea and then an evening of Ebaying awaits. Goodness knows how I would fit all this in if I did have a 'proper job'.

Hope everybody has a good day!

    Morning,

Got my interview at 4 o'clock this afternoon  so am in best blouse and suit and have had a blitz with the nail polish & hair straighteners :D

It would be lovely if I got it - the organisation is famously good to work for, and even though the job I'm going for is only a 12 month contract, I kind of want to get in there and see what happens! It's also based in Canary Wharf which, given that I live a bit further out in South-East London, would be great cos I wouldn't have to come into Central London every day unless I was going out in the evening.

Am PETRIFIED of job interviews. Have been known to get all panicky and start babbling :o

Have also decided in a very non-OS manner that I am going to treat myself to a takeaway lunch. I had £5 left over from something else so won't miss it too much...

Dinner will be a Tesco spinach & ricotta piccadella (like a rectangular pizza) bought reduced for 60p on Sunday - might pick up some salad to go with it from the Lidl half price veggies. Also, must get some laundry done this evening.

    Back later xx

    Good morning all :)

Back from a weekend seeing my Dad and catching up with other members of the family. It was really nice and, while he is really thin and quite frail, it was great to see that he's slowly gaining weight and is in good spirits.

Anyway, my OS day is going to be full of catching up with posts...

    :)

    Morning

Been up a while but watching Nip/Tuck from last night:D OH is just making me a cuppa as I can just about walk/move today. Me thinks I will be on sofa with pillow and blanket today:o

WM on. DW empty. Toilet cleaned. Floors need sweeping though:p DD's pack lunch is all done-just need to make her squash. Kitchen is tidy and sides will be wiped down once breakie has been done. Bedding airing and will be made a little later.

SIL is coming today to do me weeks ironing (quite abit there LOL), clean a couple of kitchen cuboards out (does a couple a week-so they all get done in rota), pine glass cabinets, wooden blinds cleaned, fridge and fireplace wiped down. All these jobs will be done mainly OS using vinegar for the glass and damp cloths for the blinds etc etc.

Have to update me money files today and move abit of money around to juggle some DD's going out and make a few calls.

OH made some pizza dough in BM and made enough for 4 bases, so these have all been frozen and will last about 3 weeks. OH & DD popped to Lidls last night and they have their fruit and veg half price. 10kg bag of spuds £1.15, carrots 29p 1kg, mushrooms box 39p. They got quite a few bits we needed including 2 packs of mozarella and spent just under £10...also got 6 part cooked small baguettes for 29p.

OH doing some more decorating today in DD's room and he should do enough today to get the wooden blind up in there.

Forgot to say too....OH & DD went to the pet shop after school to get a Gerbil and bought 3:eek: £6.50 each or 3 for £15..LOL. The cage DD has is huge, so there is plenty of room and all brothers about 6 weeks.

Breakie:Tea/Biscuits + Baguette with coronation chicken, lettuce & onion
Lunch:Jacket Spud with cheese and coleslaw
Dinner:Fish In breadcrumbs, mash, peas and parsley sauce

Will catch up later. Have a great day OS's

    PP
    xx

I hope you have fun with your gerbils.we had 2 brothers (both of whom sadly died a few months ago within a couple of weeks of each other) :( They lived for about 6 years - long for a gerbil and gave us a lot of fun.they could shred cardboard in seconds! :D .we decided not to replace them as my 2 boys are older now and more interested in girls and computers lol ! :D

All quiet from my almost step-daughter. So looks like the problem there is sorted for now. Did a bit of tidying up first thing this morning and OH will probably finish it off when he gets home later. We ended up having a nice fillet of fresh cod last night and it was absolutely gorgeous. Tonight is something far simpler.....the chicken or turkey that we were going to have yesterday.
Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
