Hi all.
Gym this morning for me before work, didnt want to go, but glad I did. Then had porridge with sunflower seeds, raisins (and a bit of sugar) for brekkie. I dont want to hijack this post, but am so upset that I cannot lose weight!! Ive been to the gym every day in the past week, eaten SO healthily, but it wont shift!!! Boo Hoo!!
Work isnt too busy today which is good, because it means I can catch up on the little bits I need to do.
My two free CD's arrived today from Amazon, so am happy about that, yaay!!
Going to pop to New Look at lunch to see if I can get some new jeans - my flatmate bought some lovely dark ones for only £15!!!! Have HM lunch with me...
Think I might go to the cinema tonight to see "Jarhead"...
All in all, not very exciting!!

Hello everyone,
I've not had time to have a good read today, snowed under with work, but had to check in to say that last night I made Queenie's microwave sponge pudding, and it was BRILLIANT!!! I made a golden syrup version for two, and HOW cheap and easy???? Really impressed, so was my boyfriend. Cheated and bought Ambrosia custard, because making your own is a bit of a faff, isn't it?? (And Birds powder hasn't even been near milk, but at least Ambrosia has proper ingredients)
Thank you Queenie!!!! Will try the jam version soon, then another, then another!....
Happy Monday everyone!0 -
Forgot to say - I've had a money saving w/e. I've gone from a mobile contract to PAYG (which will be really cheap cos Orange are snowed under so will take 72 hours to transfer my number
) and I told the window cleaner that I was "struggling with the budget at the mo" (:D) so could he do my windows every 2nd time. He was a bit taken aback (we live in a 'posh' neighbourhood, so are supposed to have lots of money
) but agreed. I know I could do my own, but I have lots and lots of very big, high windows and most of them are on the 1st floor anyway - we don't have long ladders either.
Also, Mr TM came in on Friday evening and said "Oh, I've been invited to X's wedding - it's in Cork." This i already knew but wasn't letting on. He thought it was OK to go, cos the flight's only £30! Then I added up, and told him : room, £60 pp/p night min., £30 car parking at airport, 100 mile round trip to airport, plus drinks, plus present, plus any other spends!! I had to remind him we do not have £250 for him to get langered in Cork for a weekend. Apparently he must be doing me a favour cos he's not going to the stag weekend (£140 for room, travel from Lancs to south coast plus huge amounts of drink/kebabs! etc) Hmmmm - it's a man thing, I'm told!
I managed to vac the whole house this morning, make the beds, tidy our room and sort DS2's toys out, including putting his train set back together again. I now have him and his friend here for the afternoon - which helps me as they play well together (except at the moment I can hear my DS telling friend to "put the sword down" - apparently you can't dance to Bob The Builder with a sword in your hand
Am going to clean the kitchen shortly and make the shepherds pie as I can referee any disputes much easier from the kitchenJust eaten my yummy veg soup and must soak some more pulses tonight as that was the last portion from the freezer.

Hi everyone
The small person was very poorly this weekend so other than a walk around the local Nature Reserve we haven't ventured too far.
It has been a splendid weekend for moneysaving as I helped out a jumble sale and found loads of near perfect clothes in the next age bracket for the small person aswell as some Aril style hippy clothes for me and bits for OH including a Ralph Lauren shirt for 20p. l got my mum a bag of denim bits as she wants to make my son a patchwork denim quilt. :j
We tried out the BM recipe for marmalade cake on Saturday- lovely on its own or served with custard which we had with our friends.
Having tackled the mortgage our next target is the household/buildings insurance.
Managed to track down a B & B in Wiltshire for £18 yesterday so very pleased with that. Now am going to look further into Dorset.

Hi All,
Very pleased as have just had a leaflet through the door saying as of the 30th my council will not be collecting paper and glass fortnightly for recycling but will
be coming weekly and taking;
*all paper
*all cardboard
*all glass
*all tin/aluminium
*all plastic bottles
HOORAY!!! Someone there has finally seen the light!!!!! Can you tell I'm a bit of a green freak? I've even been scouring gardening mags/internet for the best composter I can find for when we move.
Off to organise some bins for all my recyclables now.
Bye,
Al.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
Ms London - know how you feel - have not had any unhealthy food only had some alcohol last Thurs (used to have a bottle a night of wine at least) and I weighed myself this morning and I had put on 3lbs since Thurs (I know I should wait till Thurs to do it) - Jarhead is a great film - OH brought it home from work last week and we watched it on Wed
Can't be bothered doing much work today - MD is away on business and my boss is spending most of her time on the shop floor - I have spent most of my day lurking on here and various other sites
Better go and get some work done now
Take care all

if you want to buy a compost bin, we got ours for £5 from https://www.recyclenow.com/compost. our council were doing a deal to encourage people to recycle, although i think probs most councils do this.
They also send us a quarterly leaflet advising us about composting.
The last one i got said it wasn't too late to get a bin. ( phone no. was 0845 600 0323)
it said it might take a month to arrive but was there the next day.
My bin is black, a bit taller than my waist. Hope this is useful.
Just to add - an identical one on e.bay, someone is trying to sell it at £16 - says it was £50 new - perhaps prices have gone up? Worth a phone call to find out though - also company that make it are called Blackwalls and based in Leeds0 -

Both my little ones down for a nap - WM reloaded, DW unloaded and washing hung on airers. Really chilly here today - got all the curtains closed to try and keep some heat in.
Got 6 children to amuse until 6pm tonight - Should be fun - Will have a playdough session I think - the older ones still love it.
Quiche out of the freezer for tonight, some braising steak out for beef stew and dumplings tomorrow. Made the MW sponge pudding yesterday with stewed apples in the bottom.......had some last night and it was lush...will finish it tonight with custard.
Need to do a balance transfer tonight too - DH got the Halifax 12 months 0% card through with a decent limit on - can transfer 2 cards that are just finishing their 0% on to it. We've got around £8k on cards - all at 0% - it's great to see them coming down.
Right time to go wake little ones and get them ready for the school run - it's raining here now so will have to sort out double buggy and rain cover and waterproof coat for me and boots and and and and.......it never ends!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Could things go any more off plan? Had a phone call at 12.55 from school, DD had been sick again so could I go and pick her up  This is not going too well. I'm thinking it might be time to take her to the doctors as she seems to get upset stomachs easily, has trouble going to the toilet (IYKWIM) sometimes and constantly looks like a panda unless she's been out and about running around/has a temperature
I never thought much about it until recently but now its starting to bother me. She missed alot of school last Jan/Feb due to upset stomachs and now shes not well again.
Soooooo...instead I'm going to sort out the accounts again into paper form! We use Money but I'm starting to get annoyed with the fact that the housekeeping seems to just disappear. PLUS I'm going to see if I can manage to get my outgoings per month (which includes all the bills except for OH's petrol & mobile bill) down to less that £1000 a month which would leave child benefit and tax credits to pay off the debtsOh well... off to see what I can do...after I've finished my cup of tea I've just poured
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
