  • sorted out all the leads behind the T.V that just seem to enjoy getting tangled up, need to buy some velcro strips to sort them out.

A loo roll tube is good for organising leads.Make one vertical cut down the tube and you can open it up and wrap it around all those pesky leads ;)
  • Thats a good idea on leads organisation!

We have enough electricals to set up a mini Odeon and always getting in a tangle with the leads

    Morning all,

Snowy, good luck for your exam today,

rchddap1 - good luck, if she's 16 and 'in love' you will need every ounce of strength you possess :(

Huge hugs to everyone else who needs them.

The morning did not start off well for me, we all overslept and DS who should have left for school at 7.45 did not go until 8.15. DH came home and immediately went out for painkillers for me, came back with maximum strength Cuprofen and I grabbed them and took two :( DH immediately on the phone to NHS direct because I had accidently overdosed.

Apparently I should be okay but DH has warned me to wake him immediately if I start feeling sleepy, as I start to feel sleepy around lunchtime everyday this should prove interesting :D

I want to start on DS's new bedroom but I'm waiting for my new tv to be delivered and his room is right at the top of the house so that's ruled out for today - does anyone know if I can get an extension on an Argos reservation?

DH arrived home early as appointment was cancelled and is waiting (patiently ) for me to help with admin.

WM has just finished and pea and veg soup is in the slow cooker.

Breakfast was beans on toast and everything else is undecided.

    Hug to anyone feeling down.

She's now started talking about how hard it is to make her own decisions, as adults use to make decisions for her. So I think we've reached another stage in her 'teenagehood'....the stage of taking control and putting that foot forward on its own. She wants independence, but now she has it she doesn't have a clue what to do with it. Whereas before people would have told her to go left or right...she now has to make the choice and is scratching her head. The feet are moving....but she's going round in circles.

She's also making choices on future study & career, so there is a lot going on for her right now. I'm sure she'll settle down eventually. We just need to try to guide her a little. Encourage her to make her own choice no matter what anyone says. This really is a big thing for her because her church in the past have led her too much...so now she's broken with them (her choice by the way) she's finding it hard.

I can understand what she's going through, but don't want to lead her too much...can only say do your own thing and if it goes wrong we'll help you pick up the peices so many times though.

    Morning all,

hope all the exams go/went well

Not much exciting happening in the Chipps household today. Still got plenty of housework to do, but have done exercise routine this morning. I am determined to get rid of some of this extra weight. It occurred to me that if I was trying to carry a 4 stone child around with me all the time I would get really tired, & it wouldn't do me a lot of good. But that is what I am doing with all this extra weight. Can't be doing my knees etc much good, can it?

Haven't decided what to have for dinner yet, I am trying to use up what's in the house & not spend any more money until payday on Friday. (a rather high hope, but worth a try!)

Then I think this is the angle you might want to use. "You're just gaining your independence - think of all the great things you might be able to achieve before you get tied down". I know this is a wee bit simplistic but I'm sure you can expand on it!

There are so many young people around who are in their early twenties and have never known what it is like to be "independent" because they've gone straight from one serious relationship to another since their early teens, often having two or three babies before they turn 20.

Of course current boyfriend might be "the one" but if he's "the one" he'll still be "the one" when daughter's 20+ with a slightly wider view of the world. Look at Penny-Pincher and her OH, they've been together since they were 13...

(P.S. I must stress that I don't pretend to be an authority on this subject. I'm at the opposite extreme of feeling I "didn't need a man" throughout my teens and early twenties. Now so set in my ways that I have difficulty getting emotionally close to men, including current BF.)

    Morning,

Havent done much this morning.. so far have had healthy breakfast of loads of fruit.. and then spoilt it with a cup of tea and a slice or 2 of cake! :o This site is to blame.. was lovely victoria sponge i made the other night and it needed eating... and as there just me.......;)

Been onto Argos website and ordered myself a hoover and an iron! Total of £25.87 including delivery which is less than just the hoover i was looking at in currys! :j Have done this as i decided my mum cant continue to lend me her hoover every week or so as one of us is always put out by the other having it... Plus my dads been moaning about having to run it down here and then pick it up a few days later etc.

Same principle with the iron...... at the moment my dad picks up my washbasket and/or a HUGE Ikea blue bag of washing once a week... mum washes and irons it.. folds things or puts them on hangers etc... then dad brings them back. Its not that im lazy.... just i dont have and cant afford (money or space wise) to have a washing machine!!! And so ive never felt the need to have an iron either! BUT as again means im less independant than id like.. and my dad running round after me.. im going to try to now go to my mums and shes going to teach me how to use her washing machine :o (I know... 20 and unable to use a washing machine!! )Then i'll do all my washing myself there.. and bring it home to iron myself. It means at least i'll know how to do it :o AND its still cheaper than buying a washing machine or going to the laundrette! But i'll hopefully feel a little better about myself that im not still relying on my mum to do my washing and ironing even though ive lived away from home for 5 months tomorrow!!! :o

Need to tidy upstairs today... did down here yesterday and then give up! :rotfl: Also need to go the post office for gas and electric!! Only found out this week i switched to Ebico on 20th december!! but no one told me so ive continued to use my British Gas and Npower cards/accounts....!!!!

Should really go get some fruit and bits from the shops down the road... but it means passing the jobcentre where my friend i was meant to be getting the house with is working on security today... and if he sees me he'll come after me and expect me to talk to him... and im seriously not in the mood as hes really upset me lately with his attitude and some the things hes said... and plus i have girly pains/PMT so im likely to really kick off and say things i dont mean to him!! :rotfl:

If it continues with the weather we have outside though i might try and skimp on the gas today and maybe press the emergency button as its freezing and rainy outside and i realllly dont wanna go out the way i feel!! Would rather stay in and do some cleaning and cooking.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

that was awful! Quite possibly the worst exam I have *ever* done! 'Outline the theoretical divide betweeen physical and human geography'.....'discuss the anarchist alternatives to institutional geography which emerged in the 19th century with specific examples'

Methinks I will be re-sitting this one in august!

so...i'm now having a big bowl of angel delight :D and a therapeutic read of all things OS in effort to stop the stress-levels reaaching the stratosphere.

Later today...more revision, but this time for glacial processes (wednesdays exam) so much more fun!

also need to hoover my room and finish putting away all the washing i did yesterday which got abandoned in favour of revision.

Lunch...dont know...will have to see if i'm still hungry after this angel delight
    Tea...jacket potato with something

Snowy - hope your exam was ok...dorry, hope your exams ok as well (not sure when they are though)
