Morning All!
Last night I watched Foyle's War whilst running around like a mad thing during the commercials! I was bush-whacked at the end. However, I did manage to make a load of veg stock and freeze it, made some paper bricks (well, balls actually) - thanks to another thread on here which made me intrigued! Several loads of washing, including my hand washing (always a job which I put off!)
As a result I fell in to bed at midnight, but couldn't sleep ... too wired I think! Eventually dropped off at around 01:30 and up again with DD and grumpy DH at 07:00 !
This morning, one load washed and hung on airer (grey and raining here), shower cleaned with vinegar and newspaper (glass doors), work commenced.
Other news, I've plucked up the courage to 'phone about a Pilates Class which runs at lunchtime today .... so, I'm off to that at 13:00 (what am I letting myself in for! Overweight and unfit, that's me!)
Today's menu:
B - weetabix plus herbal tea (orange, ginger and honey)
L - dunno - DH ate the end of the bread last night, aagh!
D - DD - lasagne, DH & I - dunno
Methinks I need to put my thinking cap on! Oh, and perhaps a loaf in to the BM for lunch!

Morning all
Well, having been sneezed and coughed on at close quarters by DS2 for a week, I've now succumbed to a cold. So, have cried off going to mum's (she can't cope with a cold now anyway and her immune system is v. poor) but have taken both boys to school so have a couple of hours to blitz the house. (so why am I on here again? Addiction, that's what!)#
Anyway, just about every room needs something doing to it and I have bedding that needs to go in WM and a load in there that will be put on rads in a minute. Will get some mince out and make a cottage pie for the rest of them for tea. I'm still on my CV detox and doing fine, so no idea what I will be having. There's some left over curry I could have.
Just want to say good luck with exams and interviews, all who are doing them.
OK - must get on, have to pick DS2 up at 12.
Luv

Mmmmm..........was it tasty?:D I've had my tea and yes PP the shepards pie was very nice. Enough for leftovers on toast tomorrow for lunch. I've been shopping and got some chicken thighs on special for $2.95 a kilo. Bargain so I've taken the skin off and put them in the SC with Curry Queens baste for roast chicken I use which is delish. Will break off the meat in the morning before work IF I don't check MSE first.Very addictive - Oh I'll just check this thread & before you know it I'm running late. I suppose everybody on here knows what I"m talking about. :rotfl:
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
I've been following your thread for just over a week. I had made the decision before christmas that i needed to become more OS. Me and OH waste far too much - and as i'm off work sick since the beginning of November with unexplained throat problems and fatigue, i need to work out how to stretch the money better.
We got a BM for christmas, which i love. I've been making all meals from scratch since christmas - we usually forget to get meat out of the freezer before work and then end up having takeaway once or twice a week.
I've had a declutter, taking loads of boxes up to the charity shop, and selling other bits on e.bay,
The benefit of OS is immediate. My DH is seriously impressed with everything i produce now. He has even said he would like me to be a stay at home mum when we have kids so i'd be able to keep it up. (i've also lost 8pounds in weight by eating smaller portions of really tasty food - and detoxing)
yesterday i had my two nephews over (2 and 5). The 5 year old ate an adult portion, and asked if i would go and cook at their house every day as it was so tasty. (although my gingerbread i made didn't go down as well, as it was too tough - not sure what i did wrong)
today i'm inspired to wash the bedding, go through the bathroom, decluttering and a good clean. WM has already been on. Mince is out to make a canneloni for tea. i'm also going to try and make menu plans for the week. As soon as i go past the garden centre, i'm going to get stuff to try and grow garlic.
Thank you for inspiring me - it may just change my whole life
(Good luck to those with exams and job interviews - neither are much fun, but are essential in life)

Morning everyone,
Feel absolutly shattered this morning, went to bed at half 11 with the intention of an early night, finally put the book down and switched the light off about 4am  just couldn't switch off at all.
Dropped DS off at school done all my polishing, and sorted out all the leads behind the T.V that just seem to enjoy getting tangled up, need to buy some velcro strips to sort them out. Sink is full of last nights pots that I couldn't be bothered to do, going to go do them in a min. Baba is down for a nap and just enjoying some peace now with my feet up on the sofa.
Gonna retackle my assignment today, try and word it better. Maybe try and understand it at the same time  need to put the gammon joint for tea in to soak and prepair the veg, other than that, I have nothing else to do thank god. I want a restful day today.
B- nothing for me, cereal for rest.
L- probably a sandwich and crisps
D- gammon and veg
Bye for now:wave:Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

What a weekend we've had here! Saturday we went to Loggerheads Country Park (near Mold, Wales) and went for a 3KM hike! We had a great day but we're starting to feel it now in the legs. DD is so tired that she actually slept in until 7.20am after going to bed and falling asleep almost instantly at 7pm last night :j I'm going to spoil her today and get her a treat from the Co-op for her tea so she can have another early night. I might even let her have another warm bubble-bath (but not wash her hair) followed by a mug of warm milk
Yesterday was spent doing washing, changing beds, and shopping - I managed to get some bargins yesterday at Asda:
- 2 huge bags of pasta should be £1.44, reduced to 69p each as the bags were damaged
- 2 packets of OB cereal, should be £0.94 each, reduced to 69p each due to damaged packaging but then I got a further 28p off as they were "2 for £2.20" ~ not quite worked out the maths on that yet as 2x94p = £1.92
- Large pot of BBQ flavour KP nuts, should be £1.19 reduced to 69p so OH is happy with his "treat"
so all that, teamed with my "3 for £2" small cold meat packets (I know not the cheapest option but it keeps the meat fresher as I buy varing BBE dates and open them in date order and only open a fresh one when the other one is completely finished - we do go through all 3 in a week though! ) then they have their 24 pack of shades toiletroll on offer (save £1 until the end of the month) so I saved (2x0.75)+(2x0.25)+0.28+0.50+0.34+1.00 = £4.12 and my weekly shop has come in at £28.84 which is £11.16 UNDER budget, but I'll probably end up doing at least one top up shop for fruit and milk this week
Oh well, my plans for today are :
- laundrette when the washing has finished (30 minute cycle ATM and almost done) as its raining here and I've got bedding, towels and OH's dressing-gown as well as the usual array of clothes to get dry.
- search the internet for KS1 comprehension/writing practice worksheets that are FREE and accessible to parents (more about that later...)
- Dishes (and at least 2 lots!) as OH did the ironing last night for me and I was too busy reading these boards (and getting lunches and breakfast stuff ready) to notice the time so I didn't do the dishes after tea :wall:
I got pulled into school this morning by DD's teacher _pale_ I was then introduced to the special needs co-ordinator/assessor/teacher _pale__pale_ It turns out that they class DD as "special needs" but under the heading "gifted and talented", a good thing you would think but (and as I think every parents reaction would be when they hear "special needs teacher wants a word with you") I thought "oh god whats wrong with my daughter?". They are amazed at her reading ability but they're almost convinced now that they WON'T be putting her in a higher class for her literacy work as her comprehension skills are not to the same level and her other areas are only at the "acceptable" level for a child of her age. Now, I'm not trying to be a pushy parent but I do know that Louise is a very bright girl and is capable of doing these things but it seems that she doesn't want to in school to the same level! :wall: Soooo... I'm going to have a good look around for website where she can do work that is educational and KS1 as I've found that the Cbeebies website is too simple mostly for her. Can anyone help by suggesting some? Also, does anyone know somewhere I can get printed sheets for letter practice as in ones that will show her how to form her letters correctly? I only want them as a guide for me as she's been taught differently to the way I was taught!
Right, I'm off to look at ebay ....Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I think the marriage panic is over....the true test will be at the weekend when OH can talk to her face to face. I suspect that this issue will rear its ugly head again in the future, but for now a little bit of peace and sanity reigns. Thank goodness for that. I do hate being piggy in the middle...not a very comfortable place to be.
She said to OH by text that she wouldn't go against his wishes....and of course if it was the right person it wouldn't matter who said what.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0
