PP WM just finished and thanks to you am going to put it on the MATH - trying to minimise TM use.

Blimey MATH - they're all at it. Jo's even calling her Tumble Dryer TM now :rotfl: Maybe you and me were separated at birth :D

    (Only joking Jo :D)

Someone swapped Mr TM when I went out earlier.Took the boys with me in the end and felt all grown up in town  Instead of my mad dash wearing my jeans, trainers and an old fleece, I had proper trousers on, my new long wool coat and even tamed the locks into order. Coupled with the fact I was wearing my slap which included lippy, I decided I must have got old :D:D

Anyway, what I was going to say was that when I got back, Mr TM has tidied up and was hoovering - even put the attachments on and gave the stairs a good doing. Haven't looked in the living room, but i expect that's tidy too. He hasn't dusted or cleaned a bathroom etc, but I'm thankful for any help he wants to give :D Maybe MIL did give him a bit of a talking too when she was over here - I hope so cos I want this to continue.

I'm also in profit from my shopping trip. Took back 2 things I'd bought then decided I didn't want or even need them, so back they went. Meant I have bought my fruit/veg, other bits and bobs and DS1 another school t-shirt without spending, in effect

Right, may have to have another fake baileys :coffee: and surf on here whilst I have a minute :D:D

Woke up with a sore throat and a very deep voice- after a sleep and several hot drinks I still sound rough and have started to sneeze so will get DH to drive me to shops for cold remedy and tissues.

Do not want to give cold to DDs who have exams and one is going back to uni.

Tea will be whatever I drag out of freezer.

Feel like something the cat dragged in.

Forgot to say - my most bargainacious purchase was yoghurts  Despite all the added crusha and/or fruit, my 2 won't eat HM and DS2 will really only eat Petite Filous. I went to a stall on the 3 day market, where they sell lots of out of date or near date goodies (looking for tins of Xmas chocs, inspired by AT) and in the fridge, they had those 4 packs of Petite Filous smooth strawberry yogs. These are 3 for £3 on special in Tesco but today - 3 for £1 with a use by date of 26/1 (I'm assuming 2006 :rotfl:)

Hope DS2 like 'em, now I've got 'em.

    Hi all,

Hope you have all had a better day than me. I was suppose to have my Outlaws down today, but yet again again they let us down at the last moment without a good reason. I'm fuming as I had gone to the trouble of cooking a big roast dinner, which yet again has been wasted on them:mad: . In true OS fashion though, the meals have not gone to waste. It just seems that they expect us to keep going to visit them, when they have got a car etc as well. They live about 56 miles away from us. They are suppose to now be coming up tomorrow, but i have told OH in no uncertain terms that I am not cooking for them! Rant over...:j .

Other than that I have had a good day, my DS has been very good, and two of OH friends are coming down today, so we have booked the babysitter and are off out. Think I need a drink today:D . Also managed to get the BBC Pride and Prejudice DVD for £2.24 today (thanks to Pigsback Points and CD Wow). Hsve also bid for some weight watchers stuff on ebay, as I have put on weight over Xmas and my mum says I've got an !!!!!! you could balance an ashtray on;) .Nevermind, hope do something about it shortly...

    Have a good day everyone...

    Afternoon everyone!

PP and Jamiedodger so glad you actually got a decent sleep for once!

Catznine glad you're feeling better! Will PM you soon.

VickyA hope you enjoy your new job.

Bargain Rzl really pleased to hear your news about work! :j :j :j

Woke at 4.30 when DS got in from his 2nd job in nightclub. He's had the nasty bad cold/throat/cough that's going round, and is still coughing non-stop. He went back to his day job yesterday and apparently everyone was saying "Are you sure you should be back?"! (He said NO! But his manager's going on leave for a month to get married in Indonesia (his home) so DS will be doing manager's job, and they need to make sure everything's completely up-to-date before manager goes. The nightclub job has meant DS can pay off his overdraft. We were hoping he could do it for long enough to pay off the rest of his debts quickly, but he's finding it too tiring as he only gets about 2 hours' sleep on Thursday night (huh! he should try having a young baby and see how much sleep he gets then! :D) , and spends the weekends asleep. He didn't even have time to go Christmas shopping! So he doesn't think he'll be doing it much longer, which is a shame as he enjoys it. All the other staff there have that as their only job. :o He's been in the current day job since he was 16 and he's nearly 21 now and feels he wants a change. He's got an interview for a new job on monday, so we're keeping fingers and toes crossed! :D

Have been trying out my slow cooker! Wednesday - rice pud. Thursday - gammon, which fell to bits as I tried to slice it! Friday - lamb casserole. Did too many veggies with it so have frozen the leftover ones in the gravy to use another day. :A I'm so glad I bought it! It was lovely yesterday knowing the dinner was busy cooking itself and I didn't have to worry in case I felt too tired to cook in the afternoon. the only downside was that the cats started asking for their tea really early as they could smell the lamb, and didn't understand why I wasn't feeding them! :p

Must stop rambling! have a good evening everyone.

TM I hope you patted OH on the back... I know you shouldn't really have to - but it'll encourage the poor soul to keep on going :)

As for the yoghurt - if the kids favourites show on the label as having added sugar or something - you could add it to your HM to match, and then very slowly decrease it over time. IF, I say, because I don't know.

    Afternoon all,

I just want to have a moan so feel free to ignore me. I hate this miserable weather and get really depressed with it, and these new meds that I got on Tuesday are still making me feel like cr*p but the dr said it would wear off, so I live in hope. All I have done today is tidy away some of the Christmas chocolates and sort all the junk mail out. Why do people buy you biscuits and chocolates when they know you are Diabetic? I'm not a great chocolate lover anyway, prefer jelly beans!
Dinner tonight is what you can find. My dear hubby who had to give up work a couple of months ago has nothing to do and just gets under my feet half the time, so he can make some food. He is going to do some volunteer work so that will be good for us both.
I shall have an early night and read my book that I bought in the sales and listen to the radio tonight. I am not good company at the moment!!
    Have a nice evening.

    Good afternoon everyone!

So much for my waking early and feeling refreshed...I lay down on my bed to read a book for 15 minutes...and woke up again at around 12. So that was my day totally and truly trashed. Guess I needed it, I've been having a maximum of four hours sleep every night this week.

I've been to the lighting shop, was there for ages, and got a chandelier thing for the hall (pretend crystals...they are acrylic therefore not astronomically priced) and two spotlight fittings for the kitchen and dining room. I got prices for fittings in the hall, landing and sitting room, but need to have a think about which ones I actually want. The work probably won't be done until around March or so, so I've got a bit of thinking time.

Thanks to my second sleep I've decided to abandon my long country walk. I am a tub of lard at the moment, but once my forthcoming exams are over will make more of an effort to exercise. I used to be so slim, it's really upsetting. I'm thinking of abandoning my course, I find it so stressful to do the coursework and the exams are freaking me out somewhat. My time would perhaps be better spent on looking after myself. But then I'm half way through the course already....oh I don't know!!

Penny Pincher, I really hope you go on one of those Sun holidays. They sound like a fabulous bargain, even if you have to take an imaginary friend to fill the fourth place. With your swapping around of Sky and the digibox thingy you probably won't be too much out of pocket if you look at it from an annual budget point of view. And you of all people deserve a holiday.

I have a load of washing to do, when the sun isn't shining I always hang it on my MATH indoors - I've actually got two MATHs, lucky me has quite a lot of space. I also hang sheets over the bannister in my landing. All my windows have those trickle vent things in them, and I've never had a condensation problem, so I am double lucky I think.

Ticklemouse, I can't believe Mr TM used his initiative and did some chores to help you out. That's defo progress, even if it was a prompt from his mommy. Maybe she has persuaded him to look at things from your point of view now. As Squeaky recommends defo let TM know how happy it makes you...sorry for encouraging you to be slightly devious but I am hoping he'll do a bit more and make a regular, long term habit of it. Perhaps also mention to MIL how fab it is that he's been doing housework, she will surely quote what you say back to him.

Cheerio everyone  can't procrastinate any more, it's time to get the dreaded books out.

Blimin Heck, you lot have been busy. My firsy chance to get online all day and its taken me 15mins just to catch up on the OS thread!
 WELCOME ALL NEWBIE MONEY SAVERS

Very please to hear the majority of you have had a decent nights sleeep. When you are used to a broken night a decent one revives you.

I've had a driving lesson in the snow today - eek  Wasn't too bad actually, I just need to learn to slow down! My poor instructor is forever grabbing hold of the dashboard in a vain attempt to slow me down.

Trip into Lakeside today where I scored a bargain at Next and Boots.Boots gave me extrapoints coupons at the cardpoint which meant my total bill for 2x300ml creamy body wash, 2x250ml shampoo and conditioner and 1x500ml hair treatment was £1.79 :T At next I got some perfume for £4.49 which was marked at £6.99 and should have been £12.99 pre sale. Also got some lovely shoes (difficult for me to nice as am size 9) for £17.49 down from £34.99. I paid in Lakeside vouchers (xmas pressie) to the value of £25 and she gave me change for £30 :j Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!

Asdas afterwards and I deliberately picked a young lads till, as per advice from OSers and sure enough heput through £3 coupons which others have given back to me for the last 8 weeks! Glad I hung onto them now! Anyone know where I can get more coupons from, I have now run out and will be scouring about for the next shop.

Tonight we are planning on salad (bl***y weight loss plan). I know I need to get on with it but HATE eating salad in winter, might have soup instead.

Off to browse the threads now,
    Chat later,
    Al.
