morning,
well had good news and bad nes from the postie this morning.
the good news is i've got an interview for asda....the bad news is its for at least 2 hours on my daughters birthday...now im all in a quandry trying to decide wether i just go or wether i ring and explain and see if i could go another day.....its at 10.30...we were planning on taking her out for lunch to pizza hut and then having a small family gathering.
tired today as dd1 woke up coughing at midnight......dd2 woke up at 2am coughing then at 5am when she insisted it was time to start the day!!
im currently having my brekkie of a cuppa and some toast whilst dd1 is apparently making me cakes with her playdough....yum! and dd2 is bouncing up and down in her high chair screeching dadda over and over.
lunch will be the rest of the cheese and biscuits from christmas.not sure about tea yet, will ask dh what he fancies from the freezer when he gets up.
today i'll be sorting the loft and our bedroom to sort stuff out for car boots, ebay, charity shop and to throw away.......dh gets to play mr mum for the day,he's brilliant with them but im not looking forward to the mess the house will be in after!!!
also got to go to the local shops to get the sun newspaper as its the start of the £9.50 holidays today
got to clean the windows in the next few days too.....uuurrghhhh......whats the best way? im guessing it'll have something to do with vinegar?
hope everyone had a good night and has a good day0 -

OH clearing front and back garden today with DD. Also need some spuds and a new mop and bucket.....got a whole in my bucket...my bucket.....my bucketBM will be on maybe later for pizza dough and am thinking about making a quiche and freezing a few portions. Have eggs, mushrooms, toms, peppers, onion, ham that all need using in fridge.
DD still in bed, but she asked for a bacon sarnie for breakie, so probably all will have one. Think we may venture out to Aldis this morning, even if i sit in the car as we need some tinned stuff and maybe the mop/bucket from asda.

Good Morning
Though doesnt feel like it - it is dark and wet in Essex.
Learning to Save - I would personally try ringing Asda & explain your predicement seeing if they can do the interview on another day but if not possible you will come in then.
Got up later than I wanted and just sitting here with my 2nd cup of tea (only human after the 2nd cup) but as soon as Ive finished will be putting trackies on & becoming a human whirlwind!
Going to definately empty washing basket today - even the 2 hand wash items that have been lurking at the bottom for some time - then will strip wash and change all bedding. Then iron the whole lot and put away today!!!
Did do mamouth amount of ironing early in the week but seems to have grown into a mountain again very quickly.
Due to weather dont think will get out with children today so hopefully this pm will have time to play some games and maybe make some everyday biscuits.
L - Bacon Rolls (mine with Brie also - left over from Xmas)
D - chicken pasta (left over from roast yesterday.
Hope you all have a good day0 -
Morningeveryone :hello:
Glad you had a much better night PP. I really don't know how you manage at times.
Did a bumper lot of ironing last night whilst I watched Judge John DeedHowever, I have another load in WM waiting to go on rads and another load to be washed. Will also strip boys beds as part of their tidying their rooms day.
I want to go into town - partly for a couple of hours on my own and also because I want to take a couple of things back (must find one of the receipts) Also might go for a bike ride, depending on the weather. I know how to use my gears nowNeed to do the usual blitz around the place too.
BM is on, DW needs emptying, haven't decided what's for tea.
B - cereal, tea, fruit
L - veg soup and toast
D - to be decided0 -
Cleaning windows-I find a vinegar solution 50:50 and using newspaper is the best and streak free
always brings them up sparkly :T
The sun holidays-how do they workthere is 3 of us and need a holiday. Whats the total cost etc? Do you have to pay for passes?
Just eating me bacon sarnie then leaving for Aldis. Will take both crutches and wheelchair with me and see how i feel when we get there.
Chat later

Morning all:D
PP, The Sun holidays work usually on a Mon-Frid 4 day break, or a fri-sun 3 day break. You have to pay for at least 4 of you, but usually things are included in that.
Anyway, today my OH has a new cupboard to put up in the kitchen, giving me more storage space:j , and I plan to give th e living room a do, not that the decorations have been packed away.
I shall decide what to do for tea later, cos my brain just won't function yet.
Have a good Day everyone;)0 -
Morning OS'ers.
This has got to be the earliest weekend post I've ever made! I've got up early to go with H2B for a test drive in a couple of cars he's interested in. We also need to get his current car sold so it'll be getting a valet and some decent (I hope) pictures taken. After that it's our weekly trip to the butchers and the market. I'm going to get loads of stuff for the SC this week as it was such a success after I bought it last week! Will have to chuck a load of stuff in WM before I go2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0 -
Morning everyone, specially all the Newbes, it's fabulous to see you here.
Can't believe it, I actually slept all night long (though didn't go to bed until at least 2.12 am cos that's when I last visited MSE) so feel refreshed and human this morning.
Today I am off to the lighting shop to pick out some fittings and what have you in their sale. I have a friend who's electrician hubbie is going to do all the work for me (I will pay him of course). My house is brand new, and slowly slowly slowly it's being transformed from bare grey walls to a proper home. It just didn't help that I had 3 months unemployment a while ago, that really set everything back, and upset me - I'm still recovering from it financially and emotionally, specially as the job I did get in the end is too stressful for all the wrong reasons (office politics).
After the lighting shop I'll go for a big long walk, then after that I really MUST sit down and do some study. Exams coming up on Monday week, how scary.
Just had a lovely bowl of porridge with walnuts, sultanas and pumpkin seeds chucked in, and a nice big mug of coffee. I have more Bolognese sauce out of the freezer, so will have that with pasta for dinner. Lunch will be whatever I find in the cupboard on toast when I get hungry.
Happy Saturday everyone!

Morning all, got woked at 3am by DS (teething trouble) who then managed to wake DD, they both decided it would be great fun to get up and have some porridge then! Got back to bed at 5.30am to be woked up at 8.15 by DS who has decided we will now get up for the day.
Having a nice latte before I go and pay for the new car so we can pick it up at start of the week after that Im off to the shops for the day bargain hunting with mum leaving the kids with DH - cant wait for the freedom but dont look forward to the disaster zone I'll come back to

Good morning to you all......hope all are well
Here atthe house of Spanner all is quiet...won't see 16yr til at least mid day ( As my nan used to say "Sure don't teenagers grow in their beds"....she said a lot of other stuff most of which made no sense!! he he
The 12 yr old is still asleep, 9 yr old is up watching CBBC and DH in bed nursing "man flu"
I have a sticker on my fridge that says "Children get colds, men get flu and women get...........on with it!!" Apologies to MATH or should we be calling him AIRER now??
Just sitting here with a cuppa and thought I would share my news....nothing special just that I went to Sainsbury last night at 9pm only spent half my usual amount what with loads of HALF PRICE offers, two cooked chickens for a pound ( guess what our lunch and dinner will be), 10 doughnuts for 10p, two large selection boxes for 82p...sweets for boys sorted for a while now. Felt v pleased with myself and also only took cash so had to stay under budget. With exception of essentials will try to make it all last til next week.
Odd how pleasing this money saving lark is!
PP WM just finished and thanks to you am going to put it on the MATH - trying to minimise TM use. Also PP - want to do windows today....do I wash first then use your solution?? Will try to look on vinegar thread.
Hope you all have a good dayJanuary Debt reduced by £765: :j and overdraft improved by £400.65 :j
