Morning All
Well, Wm done, just need to hang it out, yoghurt maker did it's thing overnight, Spuds fed (there's a reason why men, (in general present company excepted of course;)) aren't mummies. Their idea of feeding a baby is something akin to grouting tiles : shove loads into the general area in the hope that some will go into the gap then scrape off the excess later:rotfl:) Off to church in an hour then I have to come home & pack an over night bag as we are going to my mums for tonight as we need to borrow her 20 year old car, our was declared dead with no hope of resuscitation on Friday!!!!_pale_ Oh dear, have got to pay for an MOT & service on mums car so that we can use it for 3 months then buying dads car off him. Oh the palarva:cool:, at least we are lucky enough to be able to borrow one to tide us over. But I am really worried that a night away from home will upset Spuds really fragile sleeping pattern, he has only JUST stopped waking up every 2 hours & is now only waking once during the night. I fear a night in a strange place will sound the death knell for it again:rolleyes:
((hugs)) to everyone with sleepless nights behind them (I know just how you feel:p) and to everyone feeling below par this morning.
B : Muslie & HM yoghurt
L : Leftover wholemeal pasta turned into a salad
D : @ mums house:D So a roast knowing her;)
Have a good one;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

((((Hugs)))) to all those who need them today
Kiwichick - well done on your weight loss so far - I weighed myself on Thurs and I too had lost 4lbs - haven't been very good the last couple of days will see how it goes this Thurs.
PP - your buffet sounds lovely - any room for one more little one.
Skystar - is dark and miserable in my part of Scotland also - are you from the East
suzy G - I have just cooked a piece of beef in my SC overnight - it looks lovely (I also cooked 3lbs of stew and 1.5lbs of sausage with it all for the freezer
MATH - hope you both had a lovely night and gave the others a chance at the buffet table
For those that I promised the DL info for - I promise I will send this today - had computer trouble yesterday - the trouble was I couldn't get near if for OH and DSS
DSD still sounds quite chesty - she spent all day on the couch cuddled into her dad sleeping on and off.
Yesterday was quite productive - made large batch of HM biscuits - went down well - in tin for work during week. 2 chicken and chickpea curries in freezer, have chickend portions marinating in red wine to make Coq au vin (also for freezer), made large batch of soup in SC yesterday - will need to go and slice in a moment(far too much broth mixture - will have to rescue)
Plans for today
Bed changed - ours needs stripped as eldest cat decided to be sick on ours some point last night - didnt notice till going to be time by which time it has all soaked through (was on OH side tho' ha ha - dried sheet with hairdryer and turned quilt round so I had the wet patch)
Portion up stew for freezer - 3 - 4 meals
Make Coq au vin for freezer
Portion up soup (some for me dad as he loves Hm soup)
make bread  not looking forward to this as I have never done this before
B - scrambled egg and sausage
L - ??

have a lovely day all

Re soup containers - ASDA have some Smartprice ones at 48p each - v sturdy and they stack well - I usually use the leftover chinese / indian containers but they usually give us the ghost after a few washes

Morning everyone.
Looking forward to a fairly lazy sort of day in the Hornet household. (I'm still in bed as I type this, so that's pretty lazy for starters!). The only job I intend to do today is washing the bed linen. I might also make some soup later to use as lunches during the week.
Yesterday's jumble sale was a bit of a disappointment, no decent books to be had. DH did get a Poole pottery jug and sugar bowl for 30p which might fetch a bit on Ebay.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone.0 -
If this is for frozen soup? I either use the cut off bottoms of milk containers, or I line a freezer proof container with a freezer bag, pour the soup in, freeze it, tip it out and stack it, and then the container is free to use again for another batch.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. :hello: Morning all,
I do feel for you Kiwichick,I remember some particularly bad nights with my 3,but it does get better
Snowyowl,I think roasting 2 chickens is a brilliant idea.I don't know why I don't do it,it would solve the leg problem. All 3 of mine want a leg.Everyone could have what they like best and there'd be loads of meat for packed lunches, other meals and bones for stock.
OH is about to take sons swimming(swimming pool will only allow 2 kids per adult,so we have a rota)
Today I've got to make rolls for lunches-floury baps I think.I might make some marmalade, but think I'll probably save it for later in the week when the kids aren't around.
Lunch- soup, not sure what kind yet, possibly curried parsnip
Supper-pork,apple and potato hotpot
fruit salad and hm yogurt
Catch you later0 -
Good morning all!! (((Hugs))) to all those who've had disturbed sleep - can sympathise with you there!! DS1 called out x2 in the night, due to being scared of the dark (despite 3 nightlights!!) and finally got up at 5.50am - closely followed by DS2!
Never mind, managed to unload dishwasher, put on a load of washing and do ironing! Am now showered, dressed and waiting for DH & DS1 to come back from swimming lesson, as we're hitting the shops today! Hopefully will not spend TOO much money!!!!
Did most of housework yesterday so just general tidying/getting ready for week ahead today! Will go & see my parents later and try to catch up with my sister. Desperately going to try and have an early night tonight!!!!
Hope everyone has a great day!!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
