Afternoon!
My jam jars arrived!! yey! I know its not o/s to actually buy jars, but the only one I had that is useable was full of burger relish, the others that are nearly finished have chillies and red cabbage in them etc (boyf's  ) and I darent use them for fear of tainting my nice jams with nasty boy condiment flavours. They are lovely too, nice smallish ones so I can give them as prezzies too. bargain cost of £4.75 for 10 off ebay.
Im making a loaf of 'french bread' at the mo as a prezzie for a freind who is leaving work and is having a party, I know ill look mental when I turn up with bread and jam instead of booze and fags, but she promises to explain that I am actually a normal person and not completely crackers. Which is good I suppose! Havent been to a party in ages so this is going to be a bit of an o/s experience for me, it will be very studenty and im sure ill want to come home after an hour but I should make the effort!
In a mo im off to Ikea as i want to get a big jar for flour as im sick of either bags splitting or me spilling the stuff everywhere and need a bit of convenience. On that note, im off and will probably post later!

 JW,What a brilliant idea for a present,I did the same for a housewarming present.Your friend will love it.
I've come to the conclusion that I don't really like weekends. The house looks like a tip.I am the only person who put things away without being nagged by someone else.I am the only person who unloads laundry and hangs it,or irons it.Am the only person who cooks-that's by choice actually. At 4 pm on Sats and Suns I go and have along soak in the bath, this is lovely,I read cookbooks. But,when I reappear downstairs I get deluged by complaints, demands, unhung laundry,un-put away rubbish/toys,and i have to get supper.I can't wait for Monday when they all go away!!! :rotfl:

I couldnt have put it better myself!! I always think, 'lovely, time off work', so i get home and end up cooking, cleaning, and general organising to get it to how I like it, then I have to go to work again as soon as its done and dont get time to enjoy it!! Men! Id love to be like the girl on the washing powder ads that makes up an excuse for the fella to not share the bed because she's just got it all nice!
Just got back from Ikea (being remodelled and had wierd disorientated feeling half way round as I realised I had no idea where I was in relation to anything and got tangled up in a bunch of kids who were wrapping the free tape measures around everything. I had visions of myself toppling to the floor and cracking my skull on the concrete.... grrrr... kids.
I did get a rather nice set of enamelled white tin things with rubber seals on which are perfect as flour jars, there is a big one for white, and a smaller one for wholemeal, :j Got a sieve thing for attempting to make stock again, and some scented tealights, as well as a bargain set of 3 green small vases ive been eyeing up, the grand cost of 75p!I dont really want to go to the party thing now as im a bit tired and fancy a night in front of the tv watching lost. Oh well, im sure it will be fun

Hello,
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend so far.
I was up at 7 in order to be in Leeds for 9am.
Spent the day in college, we finished half an hour early and iI got lucky with teh trains so I was back home by 4.30.
Trying to think of things to do this evening now - I started a painting for a friend but have to wait for the paint to dry before i do any more. I buy cheap 7"x5" photo frames - paint a picture on the back of the glass and put it back together - they look quite good - but you can only do one colour at a time.
Not done any exercise today due to college so i'll have to do a bit extra tomorrow to make up for it.
b - toast
l - peanut butter sandwich
d - sausage casserole and mash (again)
have a good night every one

Just a quickie - hmmm...now where have I heard that before:rolleyes:
I've gone to the trouble of shaving my head and splashing some Givenchy all over and Mrs MATH is just adding the finishing touches to her warpaint cos Mssrs MATH are out on the razzle_party_  :grouphug: to a double birthday reception. We've been saving up our points/calories all day (In a moment of weakness I cracked and ate a winegum:eek: ). Hopefully we will have accrued enough to share a mushroom voluvant if we pick all the pastry off first;) I'm so hungry I may just park myself at the end of the buffet and get the waitresses to form a human chain:D
Have a good evening

Math and Mrs Math - hope you have fun.
Managed to escape to the library for half an hour this afternoon, stocked up on books and found a "teach yourself to crochet" book.....thought it was worth the effort of dragging it home....stopped via mothers to borrow a crochet hook and a ball of wool....I used to help my Nan crochet squares for blankets but can't for the life of me remember how. Well this book might as well be in Russian for what I can make out. I'll have another look tomorrow, perhaps the translating fairy will come in and make it clearer overnight?
On the way home we passed a 2nd hand furniture shop with a gorgeous pine cabinet outside (double cupboard and 4 shallow draws) It's very old fashioned and a lovely colour....couldn't resist it - managed to talk the bloke down from £35 to £20, DH is going to cut the legs down tomorrow as it's about 3 inches to high to go behind my sofa....will be used as a craft cupboard for all my card making stuff. :j Will be nice to have it all organised for a change.
DH made dinner tonight - Shepherds pie - was very nice too - even more so as I didn't have to prepare it.
Hope you've all had a good day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

hi, is this the daily post ? is there one every day? Im a newbie to this part of the board, and am now on a mission to reduce my outgoings a month, in the hope we can break even ! We have worked out after everything goes out we have left £251.57 a month, for food, fuel & general living, our fuel bill is normally that alone, if not more, but due to savings we are scraping by, but as part of our new year resolution ... yes i know its Jan 21st, we have to reduce our outgoings else we will end up in debt, so guys help me make this fun !!! look forward to getting to know you all.

Yes, this is the daily post, and yes, there's a new one every day.
Once they are over a week old they are merged into this month's archive post which, should you need to refer back to it, is kept in our Indexed Collections.
