hellooooo to funky-footprints
finished for the night now, finally. But, will be awake early tomorrow to get in a full day revising
snowy - i aint usually an 'all work and no play making hol a dull dull dull dull person', just these exams are now counting towards my final degree class, even though i'm only a 2nd year atm...so just beginning to panic a bit!
But, they end on wednesday, only have this horrible river one on monday, and wednesdays exam (sediment analysis) should be pretty straightforward, and then its straight down the pub for me  ....NOT! (medically enforced teetotal) but there will definitely be much celebration. :j :j
Been shopping, so cupboards now not quite so bare, and can eat for a while.
also, did almost no revision this afternoon, couple of friends and couple of flat-mates went down to the beach to have a run around with a frisbee, which was good release for us all as we all have exams and its getting to us! Had so many arguments in the flat this week, but hopefully that will end this coming week with the end of exams.
Bed in a bit...maybe. Film on in next door flat so will go see what they watching.

Evening everyone!
Very late posting today!! Have had a busy and semi-productive day. Cleaned bedrooms/bathroom, did some ironing & 3 loads of washing - one of which was forced by my brilliant ( ) idea to take the kids up to the local hills, whilst DH at football. The kids really enjoyed themselves ( and luckily I thought to put them in their wellies!!) because it was really muddy and DS2 fell over in it!! He was covered in mud and cried all the way back to the car (he hates to be dirty!) I had to go into the mud to pick him up and the mud soaked through my trainers to my socks!! DS1 was filthy just from playing in the play area, so it was back home, chuck them in the bath & get the washing machine on again!!!!
However, they enjoyed it & it didn't cost a penny, got us out in the fresh air & was (quite) amusing!!!
Cheated tonight and had a takeaway, however we're still under budget for the month, so we could afford to do it!
DH just watching 'Match of the Day' (his team won and he's VERY happy!!) I'm going to lurk around here for a bit then go to bed!!

Welcome to Skystar and Funky Footprints!
Happy Birthday Nicki!
Sounds like you have all had a way more interesting day than me. Just about got to read this thread in bits and pieces otherwise have been cooking all day. Two vats of soup made and portioned and in the freezer including the lovely stilton one from the soup thread. Chicken stock and a chicken and sweet potato curry made. Had for supper with brown rice and poppadums. Huge wholemeal loaf baked plus experimental cheesy flat breads. They turned out great but not flat.......lol! Had trouble getting everyone to leave them alone as they are for tomorrow.
Early start tomorrow as we are off to see DS in rugby match and I'll have to get the sausage and lentil casserole (Nigel Slater recipe) in the SC before we go.
Oh you know washing and stuff too!
'Fraid I slobbed out and drank wine and watched Casualty and Sea of Souls this evening. Just thought I'd say Goodnight to you all and hope y'all sleep well.0 -

Hi Goldentouch...yes, this thread runs every day! Don't know about anyone else but it keeps me grounded, reminds me to get off my butt, and helps me plan too. It'd be lovely to see you join in.

Maybe I will
I've got a very boring existence for the next 7 weeks though. Writing to a deadline :eek:Silence is more musical than any song0 -
Morning All,
I am begining to wonder if I'll ever be allowed to sleept through the night again!
I made sure the kids all ate well yesterday and even let them play in the garden for 2 hours. All in the vain hope that they would sleep well. Silly me. So its now 4.37am and the WM and BM are already on, ds and dd2 are watching noddy on video and I am sitting here with a cup of DECAF (!) waiting for them to feel tired again.
Hope the rest of you have all had a good night!
Might hit the sales when more awake later, I've some PMS money saved and we need a new hoover as the old ones hose snapped on friday. Must buy a decent one with metal hoses, we've paid for 3 cheap ones over the last 4 years and they've all broken.
Right, off to watch noddy with littlies,

'Morning Kiwichick :hello:
I know it's no consulation now but when they mutate into teenagers they'll not get up until lunchtime (LOL)
A busy OS weekend in the apple mint household. Yesterday went to the farmers market and amongst the goodies I purchased was a box of mushrooms for soup. So it's mushroom soup making today for the freezer. Also planning parsnip and apple soup for variety.
Made lemon curd yesterday. OH likes it tart so it's a very lemony version. Soaked the seville oranges so it's also marmalade making today. So it's going to be a busy OS day for us today (but lots of fun). Will be throwing chicken legs into the slow cooker, along with veggies - so I won't have to worry about dinner.
Have a lovely OS day everyone!Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning everyone, morning Kiwichick - hope you manage to get some rest Kiwichick.
Not having a brilliant night sleep myself, but this is of course due to sleeping until 2.00 pm yesterday. Have only had about two hours, but am up and about now - fingers Xed I will sleep well tonight.
Today is just a pottering about day - am hoping to plant some garlic in some pots, plus a few other bulbs. Don't know if they will do anything - my daffs, tulips and other bulbs are from when I lived in England two years ago. But the window box things I have are an embarrassment, so even if they look like there is just plain earth in them it'll be an improvement on the current arrangements.
Other than that it'll be the usual houseyworky things - dishwasher about to receive my soon to be empty mug, then that will go on. WM will then be host to my bedding. Kitchen floor is in desperate need of a good cleaning, so that's high priority today.
Have to do something with the two chickens I roasted yesterday. Yes, I know...two! They were purchased in one pack and like a dope I froze them in their packaging with the result I couldn't separate them. So I defrosted and cooked the two of them. Will have to fill the freezer with cooked meat. Will make a Delia curry too - she has an excellent recipe for "leftover" chicken, though I usually cook chicken on purpose for it as it's delicious. Will freeze some of that too. Am going to make a proper chicken stock too - have saved the juices from the two chickens - first time for everything as I have never frozen cooked chicken before.
I'll probably pop back at some stage today. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.
Bye.

Morning
Had another bad night and totally fed up with it now:mad:
WM will be on soon and dried outside. DW empty. Toilet cleaned. House generally clean and tidy:D Downstairs needs a sweep but that can be done later before guests arrive.
Had a call from the Stannah carpenter yesterday, and they are coming tomorrow to put a rail in and a couple of spindles that need doing before the stairlift is fitted.
Today am making a buffet style self service tea, as OH's 2 mates are coming round and 1 is a vegan. Im serving: veggie chilli, rice, baked spuds, mixed salad, HM Quiche, HM Pizza, HM Coleslaw, grated cheddar, garlic bread & HM Potatoe Salad. Vegan wont be able to have everything but can choose. Pudding is Apple Pie or Crumble. Probably eat and end up on Xbox most of the night, so I may retire to bed early:rolleyes:
Feeling abit sicky, so Im off and return abit later. Hope everyone is well and have a nice sunday.
Breakie:Bacon Butty
Lunch:Left Over Roast Lamb Meal
Dinner:Buffet as above
