Tonights buffet meal is now off as OH's mate isnt well. Good job it hadnt all been cooked..LOL. Never mind! Quite glad actually as Im struggling moving today and dont want to embarass the OH.

All downstairs has been cleaned up after OH making a quiche (chicken, sweetcorn, mushroom and cheese), HM Pizza and DD making flapjacks (abit burnt..LOL-but shes taking them to school in packed lunch tomorrow). Floors swept and DD has gone round her cousins for a few hrs..so peace and quiet here:j DW has been on and put away. Clothes folded and put away, stuff needing ironing in basket for SIL.

Dinner I think will be either jacket spuds or rice with Meat Chilli (taken a frozen portion out for me anyway), also have the quiche and pizza, so will probably be whatever you want night..LOL

Anyway Im going to go as I need a brew.

What is shopandscan? How do you get vouchers for Argos? Please tell all....

    Hiya,

Its from a website called shop and scan (see below).

    http://www.shopandscan.com/

They send you out a "clicker" which you use to scan the barcodes of your weekly shop. It plugs in to your hard drive and once a week you transmit your codes. They give you 1000 points per week for a transmission which is equivalent to £1. I know it doesnt sound a lot but it honestly takes me less than 5mins a week and in a year it adds up.

They give you 10,000 points (£10) for registering and over xmas gave 3000 points for 3 weeks rather than 1000. You can convert the points to a range of vouchers including Argos, Next, Debenhams, Dixons, Amazon and have them paid out when you hit £10 or saveem for bigger vouchers.

There is no referral link you just sign up at the address above.

    HTH,

just for a change, im revising! Getting very very sick of this now, and the panic is really setting in for tomorrow now, i just don't feel i know anywhere near enough as i should do. And the lecturer is apparently a harsh marker _pale_ wish me luck for tomrrow morning everyone!

internet isnt working in the flat either, so had to walk up to campus to get my daily OS fix (...and also to check some journal articles for references and stuff, but MSE is much more entertaining!). Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow.

Not done much today bar revision. Was up and revising by 8.30ish, had a break for lunch but essentially been revising alllllll flippin day!

dunno whats for tea, might bully a flatmate into cooking for me as he has now finished his exams. If he wont cook for me...jacket tato i guess cos i aint got anything left in freezer.

graham_s ...talking about WM and incapability regarding use thereof...here at uni, a WM consists of 3 settings (hot medium and cold) and TD consist of 2 settings (warm and hot)...so when i went home at Xmas and took washing home with me, mum had a got a new WM which has more settings than a space-rocket....and expected me to understand what i wanted!...so i stood there for a good 5-10 minutes thinking 'i want medium temperature...and where do i put the £1.40 in??' Even my dad can use this new WM better than me

think ive had a long enough revision break on here now, back to it!

Woohoo I no longer have 3inch roots from where I last coloured my hair! I have hair in my eyes though, an errant piece got me and has been swimming around my eyeball for the last half hour and I cant catch it. The price of beauty .

UKTV food is on, cheats fishpie is coming along nicely, and ive given up on cleaning for the day. I need to locate my maps as ive gotta go on my course tomorrow and must not get lost on the way, and find my 'smart/casual' clothes to wear. :o Jeans is the way forward I reckon!

I also remembered I bought soda crystals from the chinese store, and I dont really know why - subliminal mse is my guess! Do I just use some of it to dilute washing powder and as a cleaner? Ive no idea!

Jo - bung a couple of tablespoons of washing soda in with your washing powder/liquid. You'll only need a bit of your normal powder tho'

You can also make up solutions of washing soda which are great for soaking really greasy things like oven gloves that you thought were only fit for the bin. I'm sure there are loads of other tips on squeaky's index :D

(off to soak oven gloves tonight....knew I was going to do something like that soon :D)

Evening all! am late joining you today as I've got the dreaded lurgy ! _pale_
have been in bed all morning and dragged myself up to get the school uniform sorted for tomorrow. :A

Have a stinking cold, bad sinus's sore throat, cough, rinny nose etc - the whole works.

have had a day of rest(unusual for me) and am starting to feel slightly more human at last! :j
Have cancelled my days training tomorrow(food hygiene) and plan to have another rest day to get over it.

MATH I think I prefer Richard Fairbrass to Harry Hill ! ;)

am off to wash up and have a soak in the bath before watching Elizabeth 1 on tv later on!
    Do what you love :happyhear

I have a Dyson but I want a henry and think he has a mate called George who also washes floors - is that what you mean by 3 in 1?
  • i'm really pleased with myself. I made gingerbread men, flapjacks, scones, carrot and coriander soup, and an angel delight dessert all while sorting out the roast dinner. DH was really pleased with his 3 course meal, and is now washing up. Excellent as i had used nearly every utensil we own. (still didn't use up the wholemeal plain flour i got instead of strong flour via online shopping - does anyone know if i can put this in the BM???)

I need to put the BM on again ready for sandwiches tomorrow. Sounds like we've had a mix of business and relaxation.

JW - regards containers for soup, I just buy a few pints or litres of milk in those plastic bottles and use those. If you let the soup cool before putting it in it'll be fine, won't melt the plastic. Then just bung it in the freezer. The night before you want to use it simply remove from the freezer and bring it to work. I have never had a problem, but I know sometimes they aren't a brilliant fit around the lid, but you can employ the "upside down test".

You could keep a mug or a bowl at work and heat it in the microwave in that.
