Oh dear .. what i was dreading is coming ....
I have just plugged this mobile in and the lcd is smashed.......I will leave feedback accordingly
My reply:
Hi there. I have repeatedly said return the phone if you are not happy and I will give you a full refund. Kindly please return the phone and you will get exactly that. Where exactly is the problem with all this? I was not aware of the screen being smashed - i tested the phone before putting it on ebay and I certainly don't remember that to be the case. If the screen is indeed damaged I apologise for this, but I dont remember it being so. However, please send the phone back and as mentioned above, you'll get a refund.
question: if he does leave negative can i ask ebay to retract it after presenting them with the evidence against him?0 -
i think he will give you a neg no matter what you do now.
i would not give him the option for a refund now. if he negs leave a reply that you offered refund on return which he would not do. dont be afraid to receive it .
ebay wont remove it0 -
well, to be honest, I am tempted to just ask for the phone back (via 1st class post - shouldnt cost him more than 2 quid) and give him a full refund.
Ooh, I wouldn't do that - I doubt you'll get it back. It'll probably get 'lost' in the post, you'll still have to refund and won't have the phone either!
If it were me I'd say it was described as faulty in the listing and there were no cracks when it left you. You can always add to any bad feedback he leaves you with a calm reply pointing to his feedback left for others.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Speaking as someone who's sold a fair few mobiles on eBay, I've been in this situation before. I sold a perfectly good phone and the buyer said it didn't work on arrival.
They returned the phone and I gave them a full refund (around 25 quid). It was obvious to me that it wasn't my phone which they returned (it was battered and had a lot more use, and a mark I remembered on the casing had mysteriously vanished). But I hadn't recorded the IMEI number so I had no way to prove it so I lost the money and the phone. I learned my lesson after this and record the IMEI of any phones I sell, plus I take a number of close up shots so I can record identifying marks.
I don't think you can do much more with this buyer. You've offered a full refund (including the return postage), and the guy just isn't playing ball. He's determined to get something out of you... whether a partial refund or leaving you negative feedback.
I'd give him no alternative but to return the phone or he gets no refund. You've even offered to refund his return postage which is more than fair. You seem like a good seller but unfortunately have encountered the buyer from hell (it happens to us all at some time).
This guy is obviously stalling sending the phone back. That in itself it suspicious given your refund offer. So I'd say he's got something to be afraid of - maybe he thinks you'll see the phone and realise it isn't yours?
You've made the refund offer, if he doesn't take it, take the neg and move on. Believe me, one neg will not affect your selling ability one bit. Just follow up with a factual reply saying "Full refund offered, seller tried to swap phone, see his other feedback", or something along those lines. Your next sale will be better than this one.
Edit: Just also noted that you sent the phone box as well. The box will have the IMEI number on a white sticker on the side. Compare it with the phone's IMEI when he returns it. If they don't match, then don't give him a penny. I'd bet he already knows this - and this is the reason why he's stalling returning it to you.0 -
If he has just stated to you that the lcd was smashed ask him why it's not visible on the pictures he has sent you that was supposedly of your phone.
Either way he's contradicting himself isn't he?
I wouldn't offer him any refund at all now.
You described it as faulty,it's obvious what he's doing and a refund isn't going to guarantee you not getting a neg or even the right phone back.
I'd let it go to a Paypal dispute now as he doesn't want to send it back and it'll cost him anyway.
Also state to him that any feedback you leave him will state what he's upto to warn other sellers of his little game which could in turn affect him.
I know you can only leave a positive but if it's carefully worded you could warn other sellers.
Also say you will be reporting him to Ebay etc as you think he is trying to con people.
You've got nothing to lose apart from getting a neg.
I personally would take control of this situation as he seems to be calling all the shots and by you offering to refund him he knows this. The Female of the Species is More Deadlier than the Male.0 -
I would contact eBay asap. This buyer needs to be reported, they are trying to blackmail you. So suddenly the lcd is smashed, surely they should have noticed before and would it not have shown in the photo.0

the idiot has left me a negative.
See http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=zeddie1&ftab=AllFeedback
emailed me with the following reply:
What part of....... "IT IS NOT ECONOMICAL TO RETURN" ........don't you understand.
Is this a total lowlife or what??? I really can't be arsed with this idiot now. I'll be reporting him to ebay (but they wont do jack) and he's on my 'banned' list on ebay preferences. I wont even be replying to his stupid email... or shall I?
Time to move on i guess. Ebay wont do diddly squat. I'll just post a calm reply to the negative he's given me, all i can do is give him a positive back... shall i even bother wasting some keyboard taps to do that?0 -
It's because of pillocks like this that I'm very reluctant to start to sell on ebay!
It's blatantly obvious this 'buyer' is trying to pull a fast one! The phones you have pictured are entirely different, the damage keeps escalating & he keeps threatening you with negative feedback!
Don't be blackmailed & don't be afraid of nf! It really doesn't put buyers off if you have slightly less than 100% & I don't know about anyone else, but I always hunt out the negative to see exactly what the issue is. So if he leaves bad for you, return the favour & tell it like it is!
You've been more than reasonable, he's not interested as he just wants the phone for half the price he paid for it. Stick to your guns & maybe(doubtfull-you can't educate pork!)he'll learn his lesson & think twice before doing it again!!!0 -
btw how do i respond to a feedback???0

I suggest selling your phones to mazuma and cut out the middle man, no postage charges or pal pal charges, just a cheque from them, you would get £24 for that phone working and £10 for it not working, also you do not need to send any accessories back so could keep the charger, memory card etc0
