    Hi,
    The buyer had bought spares on the 7th Nov,could it be that he's swopped keypads? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330284553186&category=3312

    I'm of the opinion that he's trying it on.
    Ask him for more pictures,the more the better so we can have a better look.
    Or you could always ask his previous sellers if they have ever sold him a phone/spares with a cracked keypad.

    I dont think he has swapped keypads, because he sent me a second photo with a side by side comparison and the keypad on his v. mine looks OK. I'll post the photo here as soon as I can, but in the meantime am insisting on him returning the phone.

    I've contacted other ebayers who've dealt with him in the past. Lets see what they have to say.

    Tbh,I think the keypad in his picture looks more like a D900i keypad and he has purchased D900i's in the past.
    The keypad in his pic looks more greyish than your D900's blackish keypad.

    You need to make him send it back recorded delivery. If he doesn't, you can play him at his own game and say you didn't receive it.

    Looking at all the odd positive feedback of "after initial issue, everything resolved", sounds like he's been buying phones, and then asking for a partial refund due to another sort of fault that all these sellers apparently didn't notice to begin with. Very suspicious...

    I'd say that isn't your phone, and he's trying it on. Your initial photo on the listing vs the one he sent you - it couldn't be the same phone as a crack that big would show up even on a blurred image! As it's a slide phone, the key wouldn't have cracked in the post.

    He's scamming you and many others.
    Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
    Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

    No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    Thinking about it. I agree. If you look at the first picture he sent me, the keypad is broken and damaged all over the place not just a small 'mark' on the number 6 key. Now, look at the enlarged pic of my phone and you can see maybe a small fuzzy mark on the 6 key but nowhere else is it broken. These are DEFINITELY not pics of the same phone.

    Question is, how do i deal with this politically without annoying him. I dont want the git to give me a negative. I'd rather just get him off my back by him sending me the phone back and me give him a refund.

    I sent the buyer this email earlier:

    ===================================

    Hi. Thanks for your mail.

    I can't see the pic for some reason. Are you hosting it on a web site? Can you please send me the pic as an email attachment.

    In the meantime, I'd be happy to give you a refund - please post the phone, box, charger etc. via 1st class post and I'll give you a refund.=
    =======================================

    Anyway, this has now really got me intrigued, I have noticed on his feedback someone sold him a D900 but he complained about that listing too...I have emailed that seller to find out if they had a similar story thrown at them too ...

    if i was you that is all i would do if offer him that. that is more that enough! i dont see why he is having so much of a go as it was only £10 and you did say the phone was damaged. in that pic it is def not damaged in you one i mean! that is just a fuzzing of the photo not your phone. :)

    An even more intriguing development. Yesterday I sent a message to one of his other victims, and heres her reply:

    [FONT=arial,sans-serif]=============
    yes he asked for a £5 refund, as he said the phone had ink on it which i dont remember, i told him to send it back for a full refund, but he said £5 be ok, he said why should he send the phone back as it would cost £5 postage, but i said it only cost me £1.50 recorded, so why would he be charged £5, he left me negative feedback sayin i refused his refund, which i never did, he refused to not argue , but i didnt want to just send him a fiver, i sent him a feedback withdrwal, and he did, i think he noticed my wording on my ebay page for the phone and as it was not discribed as well as the other ones he brought on his feedback, he exploited that fact, but it was only spares
    ==============

    So, this victims phone had 'ink on it'. My phone's keypad is 'broken'. Where does it all end? And why is this guy bothering for only a tenner?

    Any ideas on how to deal with this idiot? I've sussed him out and he shouldnt be allowed to get away with this - a tenner is neither here nor there, but its his cheek and nerve to pull such a scam which is all the more infuriating.

    Can I complain to ebay about him? Will they even bother to look in to this? He has not replied to my email from yesterday demanding for him to send the phone back for a full refund. For all I know he's busy dismantling it, and putting a faulty keypad on it before he sends it back.

    I also note with interest he's emailing me OUTSIDE ebay, presumably so he doesnt leave a trail of evidence on Ebay's network. Is it time to be straight with him and present him all the evidence of all his previous scams? If I do, I will almost definitely get a nice big red negative in my 100% feedback...

    Seems an apology is in order.

    Amazingly out of all the games I have played I have never seen one.

    So I apologise to helping_hubby I should get my facts right.

    Maybe you could tell him you are seeking advice from ebay--maybe scare him off a bit?

    Right.. I sold a faulty phone on Ebay (which I described as faulty). The end price was only £10 plus postage. It was posted yesterday.

    Now... how do I go about solving this?

    You don't, you sold a faulty phone, buyer got sent a faulty phone, the end.

    Why even think of refunding???

    because the idiot is complaining and i dont want negative feedback. If you were in my situation, would you really tell him to s*d off and get a free negative in return?
