Personally if I think I am being conned I would take the hard line. Either it is returned for a full refund or he keeps it, the moment you start offering small refunds he has won.
However, looking at the posts above we know he leaves negatives, but maybe he realises now that if he starts to leave them too regularly sellers will spot a pattern and block him.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. the plot thickens... received an email back from him, and another picture, comparing my pic side by side with another one he has taken...
Email :
This is definitley your mobile. IMEIXXXXXXXXXX. I have made a comparison and fortunatly you can see by the white chip in the left corner of the No.6 key.
Thanks for your offer of a refund but I feel the postage charges make it uneconomical to return on the price of this item. Thats why I suggested a small refund.
=== end of email
I can't seem to save the pic and post it here , so i have asked him to resend it.
But the pic does look very much like my mobile, with a small crack on one of the keys. Interesting, because i dont remember the keypad to be cracked at all when i sold it.
He is still insisting on a small refund. Am I being picky if i ask him to send it back for a full refund, via recorded delivery?
Just say sorry but that's not the same imei number as the phone I sent.
If he opens a dispute with paypal they will only refund him if he send its back anyway.0 -
Hi

Thought I would join in this discussion. If you sold the phone as faulty, what was wrong with it?
Also on your supersize pic http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/5/6/9/5/0/9/webimg/192098255_o.jpg
even though it is blurred it does appear that there is something wrong with the number 6 key
Just my honest opinionIf you dont ask you dont get!!0 -

hmm. the last thing i want is a negative on my 100% feedback.
i could take the hard line, but the pic he has sent does look a lot like my phone. However I have no way of proving one way or the other. I can't really say to him 'thats not my phone's IMEI' as he could just have read the IMEI off my phone anyway!!!
What would you do in my shoes?0 -

thats what Im thinking. There is a bit of a 'thing' on the number 6 key, although personally i dont remember there being anything wrong. It could be me being forgetful though. Do I take the easy route out and just ask him to return it and I give him a refund?0 -

Well I would do that and see what he says.
Just think though if you didnt have a bad memory and such shaky hands for the pics( sounds like me :rotfl: ) all this would never of happened...LOL
Seriously though ask him to send it backIf you dont ask you dont get!!0 -
His picture shows a pretty cracked keypad (if you supersize it you can see cracks on other keys as well) , with all due respect, I am sure you would of noticed this before you listed.
Ask him if the packaging was damaged.
I reckon he has given it a thump! But then I am suspicious of everyone! Surely you would of remembered that damage.
If I was adament that it wasn't like that when it left me then I would actually just let him give me a negative and then respond with something making it apparent he has done this before (based on the other listings)...you did say no refunds or returns!
Guess it depends on what you value most - your pocket or your feedback.0 -
I've been conned in the past (buyer said a PS2 game I sold him didn't work), I asked him to send it back and he did and it was a different CD! Same game, but it was scratched to !!!!!!y. The giveaway was my game was purple on the underside and the one he sent back was silver. But I had no proof, so I refunded him, sent the damaged game back to him and lost out on £20 and a game and learnt my lesson.
I'm very very careful with descriptions now, I don't accept returns on anything electrical/CDs anymore as I know they are in mint condition because I look after them.
If I were you I wouldn't refund anything unless he returned it. He won't want a negative as much as you don't. A shop wouldn't give some money back if it was damaged - you'd have to send the item back.
A negative isn't the end of the world. You have 121 feedback. That counts more than anything and most ebayers know that there are people out there that give unjust negatives.0 -
well its only a tenner we are talking about here. If he agrees to send it back he will get a refund.0

Cant say I have much sympathy for people who sell a copied game.0
