Evening everyone
Its been an odd sort of day here with me getting very little OS done but hopefully I'll get a quieter day tomorrow when I can catch up.YD had an invite to her first birthday party so I had to nip to Home Bargains in pursuit of the perfect gift I ended up with a lovely TY cuddly dog and card.I also had to buy 3 boxes of choccies too for the kids to take into school on Friday in payment for a non-uniform day.I'm getting to be a meanie cos I bought 3 tubes of choccies at 99p each:o .Then I took ys for a ride on hubbys bus.By the time I got home after our little trip out I had no enthusiasm for housework and spent the hour before school time to crochet and read books with ys.Tonight has been a manic party run and trying to get a tea on the table for the non-party goers. We had Sausage Toad, mash and veg with onion gravy and the last of the pineapple upside down cake with custard. Now I am firmly parked on the sofa and not moving again except to take the kids to bed
PP I'm delighted that you are home and seem to be well on the mend and its nice that hubby is looking after you so well. Its his way of showing how much he loves you so enjoy it
MSD-It isnt trivial about Treacle at all. She's like a member of the family and I'm sure you'd be devastated if another member of the family started having fits
Wannabesybil-hope the docs went well and you were worrying over nothing
Taplady-I hope today wasnt too harrowing for you

It was worth nearly choking myself for.

I don't have the full facts, so it wouldn't be fair of me to comment. I'm going to text Ellie's mum later and see how she is today and will send the love of the OS community as I told her all about the website when we spoke the other day.
Had a snooze earlier and feel a little better.
OH has made some garlic bread to have with the spagbol and he also did the online shop using a 15% off voucher code for Ocado and managed to get some great bargains for £50 including delivery. He has also decided to go to Aldi (thanks BargainRzl;) ) to get some of the butternut squash and peppers to make soup. He is really looking after me and appreciate all that he is doing for me.
Take care everyone.

lovely to see you back and pleased everything went well
I did notice that you say you mentioned OS and this site to the little girls mother but did you ask if she minded you posting her daughter's name and details of her illness here? There may be people they haven't discussed it with who read it here and put 2 and 2 together.I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. It does seem odd that an adult cancer service would take on the care of a young child, the childrens hospital at Guys is separate from the main hospital? and I didn't think it offered any cancer services there, so does that mean this little girl was in the adult ward with no specialised RSCN's or paediatric cancer specialists?I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Evening all
The threat of having to to work with me was enough, Mrs Degree decided to have a relapse & stay home, still she meant to be working with me again tomorrow.
Lalaladybird, my ex used to drive me nuts, he was always on about how his mum managed on £10 a week housekeeping, so why did I need £25, I never could get him to understand hat she was feeding 2 people & I was feeding 6!
Have a good evening everybody.
Hugs Hester

but remember this little girl may not last until Xmas so HER mother must be in pieces and therefore their feelings must take precedent, I just wanted PP to check mum didn't have a problem with the details, including a name, being posted on a site as large as thisI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Evening all
oh my goodness but you guys are so wonderfully supportive - the news from the hospital was about as bad as it can be sadly and she has been sent home to wait for the probably inevitable although there is a teeny bit of hope - i think she would be feeling better if there was some finality. We've had some tears today but also some laughs. She is staying here tonight and so is Mr Caring Sharing in case she needs to be driven to hospital in the night.
OS wise - well nothing - we have had take out for tea and very expensive chocolate biscuits, chocolate ice cream and chocolateI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
About the treatment of Penny Pincher and Ellie.
Many many years ago I had to have emergency surgery to have my tonsils out. Yes, a routine op for most - I nearly diedthere is always one and it is usually me. The children's emergency ward, Arrow Park early 70s had half the ward for emergency children's cases and half for elderly lady cases of things like hips - not emergency. I remember the ward as HUGE. What it meant was that the older ladies could keep an eye on the little ones, enough to call a nurse, and keep themselves occupied and their minds etc active and it meant that the nurses had some extra pairs of eyes keeping a look out. I remember one old lady who must have been an incredible battleaxe insisting I read to her every day. I will never, ever, forget her definition of 'brandish'.
It was really good for both age groups, it for the elderly ladies it 'took them out of themselves' and for the little ones like me we could have the attention we needed on the old fashioned wards without stretching the nurses. It could perhaps work like that for Penny Pincher and Ellie. It seems to have allowed them both a bit of comforting contact.
Hope this helps.
Struggling a lot today. Taking little bear to playgroup tomorrow. Last week all I wanted to do after was just cry and cry and cry. Little bear had a wonderful time, however, so will see.
Trying to get me accustomed to new tablets. I am getting to the position where I have been unable to care for little bear because the tablets were making me ill, but the depression is getting worse and worse and it is getting to the stage when I will not be able to function without the tablets and be unable to care for little bear. My ability to type is going, and ability to plan and to think. I will be popping in, as the people here are lovely.
