Been up with baby since 6 - 2nd day on the trot - on top of him waking in the middle of the night again. Really knocks it out of you when he's been a good sleeper for months!

Is he ready for weaning / more food / slight change in routine? I remember mine used to start waking when they were hungrier.
  • Lalalady - Your house sounds just like mine....If DH ever says 'i don't know where all the money goes....., I have a list with it all on, shove it under his nose, which he never reads by the way or in the past i've said you do it and just give me the shopping money each week (that lasted 2 weeks). I also keep my till reciepts and leave them lingering in the kitchen so he can see just how much things costs or take him with you, then he'll see.

Why don't you sell off bits on ebay to make your own money, thats what i do, then they cannot begrudge you buying things you need.

    Thats my advice.....
You know your getting old when you
go to the pub sit outside
and admire the hanging basket
    Is officially 48% tight :D

I have made so many changes to bring down our outgoings...........my DH never says how well I have done at implementing all these changes... ...... he said "try to do that every week!!!" It is never good enough. ...... I might keep a list in the kitchen of all the things I am doing so he can see it in black and white!

Why not write down what you were paying out 12 months ago, and then write down what you are paying out now.....including the shopping savings, then hand it to him, with a big total of savings at the bottom. Or just keep a tally every week, so you can see that you are making a difference and can show him every week - if you want to.

I must admit, when money was tight for me several years ago, I would use coupons to cover the cost of a magazine or takeaway for me & the kids. Then we were getting a treat and still only paying out the same money.

I also do the Ebay thing, selling to accumulate enough to spend :)

Morning everyone, hope its a good one for you.

In work today so I've left the spag bog defrosting on the side, its the second lot from the batch I cooked a few weeks ago.

Stefejb - hope things go ok for you & DD.

Lalaladybird - sounds like your OH is under a lot of pressure and putting you under a lot as well. Have you kept a detailed record of whats coming in & going out? Your OH may be surprised were it all goes. For me, OSing is about making my money go further, not living a bleak lifestyle.
  • Morning Chums,
good news that Pen-pin is out of hospital.Hope she soon feels more like her old self.
Weather here keeps going a bit grey and dark, then trying to brighten up a little then more cloud. Its quite confusing at times. Not very warm though .I have such a lot to get through today as well. I have to go to Sittingbourne (not my favourite place, hard to park)to take some forms for my solicitor as I have just made my new will. £111.63 inc.V.A.T.for one sheet of paper:mad:
Still at least that will be one more job out of the way .I make a list of my to-do jobs and work my way through them if I can. I also have to get to the library at some point to get some reference books about the Crimean War for my college course . Plus a pile of ironing that I have been putting off as my joints were aching quite badly this week. I must do some or I will be going to see the solicitor starkers:eek:  I wonder if I could get a discount ;)

Porridge for breakfast, and HM soup for lunch.I think I will get some of my Y/S salmon out for Dinner as I have some salad potato's to use up today. I have just remembered that I also have some cooking apples in the conservatory to use this week as well I think I'll do a big bowl of stewed apples and gloopy custard, I don't think my arms will be up to making pastry today.
I had a good afternoon at crafts yesterday, and had a go at one of our ladies 'Crafters Companion Vintage Christmas Card' cd's. I was so impressed with it I came home and ordered one from ebay.
I was going to go to get some pressies today, but I just won't have the time ,tomorrow M&S's is supposed to have a 20% discount day so I may go then. I hope everyone has a good day, and if your feeling a bit yuk then I hope you will all feel better soon.
This time of the year I could really do with a 36 hour day. Ah well, onwards and upwards .
    Cheers everyone JackieO x
  • Thanks bargainbird and floss2, I think you are both right that keeping written records is the way to go  I have decluttered too much to have anything to sell on ebay. I just sent 4 boxes of stuff (baby clothes, clothes, cds and books) to a charity shop. Ebay didn't even occur to me.

Even if you only start to become self-sufficient in baby / kids clothes, it will help!

I buy things, wear them a few times, get bored & sell them, only to start all over again :o Although I have de-cluttered as well ;)

    Morning everyone

i am just waiting for the pasta and a big pan of pasta sauce to cool in the kitchen so that i can portion it up and put it away and then i can start making the soup.

I was going to walk the houndlets early today but they don`t seem to want to move and i don`t blame them - neither do i. Work on the late shift today so lots to get through this morning so i mustn`t spend much time on here :D

Redruby - my back is quite painful if i move too fast but nowhere near as bad as i thought it would be :j Hope that you`re not too stiff either.

Stefejb - ((((HUGS)))) for you and your DD, i hope that everything goes well at the hospital.

Cheapskate - Wow thats a nice surprise

Taplady - ((((HUGS)))) for you, you seem to really going through the wringer ATM

Lalaladybird - I would make a big list of everything that you have done to save money and then shove it under his nose and ask him where his list is, everytime he makes a comment ask him where his list is, he should learn that he will have to make one if he dosen`t keep quiet and will probably struggle to find things to put on it :D

There is a small black furry face peeping up at me from beside the table so i`d better go and feed it :D

    Have a good day peeps!

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Doing Chicken casserole in the SC for Dinner need to get that started,
and mums skirt is still on the dining room table waiting to be done,:o I have pinned it up but it needs cutting, then get the sewing machine out. I know it wont take long but I just cant summon up any enthusiasm for it at the mo.
OH at the dentist at 10am, to have a post put in for a crown, hope there's not a queue or he will moan about it all day, why are men like that ??? women just get on with it, but men
