Well Apple haven't claimed the price was wrong, only that they were out of stock.

so now under the terms that they wish to use i awiat thier offer of a suitable substitue .

However i do not consider offering the e300 model that is still available from them so is still in stock you would presume ..for the price presently quoted will be a fair substitute.

we go round in circles in essence apple made abad boo boo...compounded the error and even now still keeps us in limbo ....

will someone please explain why the email i got this morn didnt simply tell me at that stage that the order was cancelled ..why was it being put on hold to be cancelled at a later stage

I asked this question to the guy I spoke to at customer services and he told me that it was probably becasue they where going to do a bulk cancelation. This seems a bit stupid, why would they not have done this in the first place when they sent the emails out?

I'm not giving in. I've just recieved another email saying that it's out of stock - which contradicts what the girl first told me about it being a pricing error. She just keeps digging - under instructions from her supervisor no doubt.

PS. I was posting under my boyfriend's account - Tr3mor up until now in this thread.

That's the first thing that came into my head when I read it also. It just seems like odd wording. Surely they know everyone affected (they e-mailed us?) so why not just cancel it. What does putting it on hold until later do?

    some suggestions

    1. lets they gauge what the initial backlash will be.
    2. gives additional time to strengthen thier defences

please add to with your thoughts.....
  • Did anyone else happen to go through quidco before purchasing the the camera? Got a nice £2.52 pending on there from the Camera!

Yeah, i'd agree that's odd. It was odd from the offset when as soon as the camera was pulled a bulk cancellation could've taken place straightaway yet didn't.

They do seem to have decided to cancel our order despite not telling us (found out through online Order Status) and us not asking them to do so! (I'd asked for it to be left open) :(

Wouldn't be bothered if it was a bulk cancellation but, you know, it's not (yet) so seems a little cheeky!

entitlment you say .... my credit card is still down £98 pounds as of two minutes ago since That money is sitting in a pending transaction state ... meaning that my credit card limit is down by that amount ... ie in simple terms they still have my money .

Now there was a time when you went to buy something ..you handed over the money and you got your goods..

then times changed you went to buy where told the product would be delivered and paid when it was delivered...

nowadays its money upfront and well if we dont deliver you get your money back ...ummm....I didnt and us as consumers didnt change the goalposts and rewrite the rules it was bizzness that did that so the very very very least that you and I can expect is that they play by the rules and treat us with respect.

From day one i stated i didnt think we would get the camera.it would have been very nice if it had come but now its not. I was as much interested in how apple would play the game. How they would manage a crisis of thier own making .

if this isnt an importnat issue to you then do move along with your life .But the fact you are looking in and commenting on this forum on this very thread shows that it is of interest to you.

yes I am interested in this as it is like watching Watchdog on the TV. You should just ask for you money back and that is that.

  • Mine still shows pending and have now had the email about no email support etc.

I have emailed them back anyway querying / showing shock at the lack of email support from one of the largest companys on the face of the planet.

Anyway, ive said i wasnt after support, but that i was simply informing them that i am quite happy to wait until the item comes into stock again.

Oh, and my shopping basket still shows the order pending, not been cancelled yet :-)
