I believe the use of NUS cards is the easiest way. Fair enough not all universities promote NUS, but it is free to register and join and you get loads of discounts on numerous things. Companies (including Apple) check the NUS card number and make sure that it has been successfully registered.
@elisebutt65 - When did you order your camera? I remember you saying that your delivery status was dispatched.0 -

Say 5,000 orders were placed and it takes 5 mins per phone call to check. Thats assuming your in or have the details to hand. It would work out to over 2,000 man hours (50+ weeks). I can't see them spending this much time and resource on an item that will cost them financially if they shipped.
We shall all just have to wait and see what happens. But my monies on all orders being cancelled due to a miss-price.
All it takes is one master email (sent to all purchasers) to be sent to your registered email address on the Apple site stating that they want you to fax or email (in .Jpeg format) proof of your student status.
Thats what they have asked me in the past.0 -

Indeedy: a refund, an apologetic email plus maybe a voucher or something. Hopefully there will be something tomorrow!
I think the reason there's still a buzz about this though is because people are wondering why orders weren't all just cancelled when the camera was pulled from the website that evening.0 -

I think you are overestimating the ammount of orders that were placed to be honest. I would say 100 orders at the most, and I would say a large number of those are multi-product orders that are likely to be cancelled without much investigation.
I hope I get some more info on this before I get to France tomorrow. :santa2:0 -

Here-here
I hope Apple bear in mind that I am a soon to graduate Web Developer and am at an impressionable stage. Anything could sway me either way when it comes to my choice of platform in the future. :j0 -

Sorry let me rephrase - people who arent involved in education should not have their orders fufilled. People who look after us miscreants definetely deserve something!0 -
