I have an initiate transfer option but not sure whether to click it as i have not recieved the 2nd e-mail yet.

It does no harm to try although my experience is it is probably "activated" when the email is sent out. Just checked my emails, my 2nd email was at 11:43 today and I tried the website about 11:30 - just before going out for a few hours - and the "initiate transfer" option was not working.

Anyway got compensation; now waiting on wife's account - have tried to initiate the process there but no luck so far.

Well at least that proves that trying to initiate before email 2 does not upset the system nor put you at the end of the queue! :)

Only too pleased to help dispel any myths

Also changing your email (as already posted) does not affect your position in the queue

that some have a clearer view of the future than others! Give some people a button and they just have to press it! Isn't there a reference in HHGG to this too?

You need to ask Zaphod Beeblebrox, who's recently been posting on the KE thread along with many of us!

Can I just check something? Has anyone who didn't initially get a 1st email, but then emailed FSCS and got an automated one, been sent a 2nd email (and then perhaps had success with the 'initiate' button)? I'm still concerned that I don't feel I got a 'real' email as I asked for mine?! Does this make sense or is it all getting a bit too much for me now?....

bet you wish you hadn't bothered to ask :D
  • Do you need the second email? Or is it good enough just to keep logging in occasionally and hitting the Initiate button when it appears? Is the second email just telling you that your account is now ready for transfer out?
