ICE SAVE - 2nd E Mail Received

Options
I did post this yesterday somewhere but as more peeps seem to be here today I thought I would post again.

Not me but my daughter got her 2nd email yesterday (Sunday) and has initiated her claim. She hasn't got a lot c £7K but being a student had just put her loan in when it went belly up. So she can repay me the money I had to give her as a bailout.

We both got our first email bout the same time (tuesday) last week but I have not had a second email.

Its strange that nobody has reported receiving an email today Monday which is when I thought they might have been sent out. Maybe your daughterwas part of a "live" test they did on a limited number of accounts to make sure its going to run smoothly.

As I posted at the link below - the FSCS site says next communication will be on Tuesday 11th November

  • Yes- maybe they went for the "cheap" ones first to make it was working . She should get the money in her linked account Thurs/Friday - that's the real test I guess.

Of Damn! Just had an email on the email address I use for Icesave/FSCS ( I have quite a few different addresses) and I thought "ah this is it" I quickly opened the email folder to find an email from Screwfix doh!

I have not received the 2nd email yet. But I am able to log on to the website, see the interest made up in my accounts, and see the "initiate FSCS claim" buttons for them. But if I click it, it tells me I have to wait.

I really don't understand people like you, it states in the FSCS e-mail to wait for a second e-mail before you initiate the claims process, yet people are trying already, just wait as soon as the second e-mail is recieved by some people, you'll have loads of others who haven't recieved the second e-mail trying to start the claims process, and no doubt messing up the process for others. Idiots.

How on earth can it mess up the process for others???

If you do happen to press the "initiate" button all that happens is that you get a message to tell you that you can't process your claim until you've received the 2nd email. It certainly doesn't have any impact on anyone else's claim!!!

I guess the reason why we're being told to wait for the second e-mail is because they don't want hundreds of thousands of customers all trying to log onto the site and experiment to see which functions are working. This could only cause the site to crash and cause inevitable delays for everybody trying to register their options. Patience everybody!
