It`s hardly Coventry`s fault if people wait `til the last minute to apply.
The BoE cut a week ago so I`m suprised Coventry left the bond open this long.
I applied online on Sunday, got the forms today and sent them back, plus there`s still to the18th to get money in.

So if you apply today as a new customer you've got to receive the application through the post, return it with a cheque, include your ORIGINAL passport/driving license and a utility bill all before next Tuesday?

Are they serious? Original passport/driving license in the post!
No, doesn't need to be the original, only a certified copy, and only if they can't do the ID electronically.

I didn't need to send anything for ID but my wife did.

No, you can print your own forms on-line now, sign them, take certified copies of your passport/licence, enclose a cheque and you're done. Mine went off this morning.

    Early bird, worms etc

Where did you print the forms from? Was that at the end of the sign-up process?

Yes, I guess it must've been. I'm already a member, but I was applying on behalf of my wife, so I wasn't logged-in as me. I qualify for the 50+ account & she doesn't, lucky thing!

Just sent cheque and signed form, for mum. We both have accounts with Cov.
I was going to open Poppy too, but decided to stick with my Egg 6.3% fixed, and will be adding to that soon.

I think it's great that Cov are supporting the British Legion.

Good luck to all applying; hope you make it in time.

(Life was so much simpler when I didn't have any savings!)

Edit: Just looked at the site. Below where it says 'Welcome to Savings,' click on 'How to Apply,' which will take you to the page for all accounts where it says 'Apply on-line' or 'Order a Pack' Sorry, I really am at the age when I can't remember what I did yesterday!

    What is a certified copy?
    Cheers.

And you clicked on 'Apply online', filled out the online form and then printed some forms off at the end???

I did it online and asked to send application. Got it today and sent it back via registered post. No ID need as they did the electronic check so fingers crossed it will soon be up and running.
